So, I log in for the first time in nearly three months and everything is gone. Literally all of the files I downloaded from Tru Rail Simulations, Train Sim World, amongst other places are now gone. Everything is back to default. How in the world could that happen? I saw a notice on my Steam account screen that it was installing things in order to play the game again. The last time I played was May 18 and moved everything over to a different drive. Everything except the Program x86 files. I'm moving everything back right now and hopefully that'll have everything show up. Otherwise, I'd have to reinstall everything again.

That clearly didn't help. Looks like I'll have to start all over, YET AGAIN.

I see what the issue is now. Whenever I move the files to a different drive it wipes EVERYTHING. That makes no sense but okay.

You say Train Sim World - maybe you should ask on that forum as there might be restrictions when copying.

Also are you on Windows 11 and do you have SSDs?
There have been reports of Windows 11 not reading SSD Drives

It is probably a bit tedious to be told this after the event, but in future always make sure you have backup copies to fall back on before attempting an exercise such as this.

    Best regards,

How are you moving everything? With the cut and copy option. If you select cut, it will delete all of your old files, but if you select copy, it will leave the old files behind. Selecting copy is the best way in case something goes wrong, and you can start again.

Trev - I think you mean "copy" rather than "paste"?

    Best regards,

Or just use Steam's transfer function?
