Heyo There! I have reasons to believe the line from Leeds to Doncaster is a perfect route to the TSW5 Series. Recently They have introduced the new Northern Rail Stock to the line the Class 333 - Replacing the Class 331s, The Line has a few key stations and history along the route making it a viable suggestion, many hope to see come to the franchise. Here is Leeds Train Station. Based in the Centre of Leeds is Leeds Train Station, Operating several routes around Yorkshire and further up to London Kings Cross and Plymouth. Along The Way out to Doncaster you will be able to see Elland Road Football stadium, for the premier league team Leeds AFC Down to the next station we arrive at Outwood. Nestled on the outskirts of Wakefield is Outwood, the pit village and was only a small settlement until the 1970s The Next Station Afterwards Would Be Wakefield Westgate. Also Operating Several Routes around United Kingdom. After That We Have Sandal & Agbrigg. A perfect little station for a route to doncaster. After Sandal, We park up in Fitzwilliam. A Station which is a split between Moorthorpe Heading towards Sheffield and South Emsall Heading Towards Doncaster. Next Station Is South Emsall. after that we have Adwick Then Moving onto Bentley Train Station Finally Doncaster. The line serves as the ECML for LNER to Leeds. And It would be simply lovely if we could see my route implemented in the future. Trains on this line. Additional Content From Other Packs. Any other suggestions add them below, as I really hope to see this route alive on TSW one day.
Personally if your going to use the 333, it needs to be on the Airedale wharfedale line between Leeds, Skipton, Ilkley and Bradford F SQ. I think stick with the 331s. Good suggestion though!
I kind of agree with 331s simply because I'd like it to be based of the same timetable as the Peterborough to Doncaster route so players could take an LNER service from Peterborough and then route-hop and carry the same service up to Leeds. Having said that, maybe both (331 and 333) could be included for variety sake, and if someone doesn't like having both they can turn one off in the layer selector. I also think the route should come with an IC225 set, which could layer on to the Peterborough Doncaster route as well
Surely this would be better as an extension to ECML, rather than a standalone short route through relatively dull and flat terrain?
An extension would be a perfect opportunity to add a Class 91 and class 331s. Am I the only person in here that can't stand the 333s? The design has dated so badly. Alternatively, back-date the ECML line from Peterborough to Doncaster by a couple of years, add the Leeds extension and have a mix of HSTs, 91s, IETs and Class 321/9s and 322s for the stopping services between Leeds and Donnie. Something there for most drivers' tastes.
Fair point, but as they keep claiming "we can't do extensions" The class 91 is seriously overdue at this point, and I love a timetable with them, HSTs and 80Xs so much. I went on a 333 recently (on this line actually) and was quite annoyed that the seats don't have the little fold down "tables" on the seat backs because I was intending to put my packet of crisps and my fizzy orange drink on there. Thankfully it was dead enough (at least in the carriage I was in, one of them had a school trip in) to just put them on the seat next to me.
I’d love for there to be a route connecting Leeds, Doncaster, AND Sheffield via the Wakefield, Hallam and Swinton-Doncaster lines. It would be a mega network route, rolling stock could be 150s, 158s and 170s with the 331 and 195 as a Civity DLC. And obvious layers. Edit: this is what full route would look like mashed together
Obviously being grown up with them. I love them. I don't like the idea they are doing services to Donny but that's what they are doing now. Still run on Airedale line though.
I wouldn’t mind a Leeds City Commuter style network going to places like Bradford, Doncaster, Skipton, Barnsley and Harrogate maybe? Huge variety of traction and service opportunity along with freight.
