Route Suggestion: Den Haag – Groningen (Netherlands)

    Submitted by: Stefan
Background: Son of a Dutch train driver, with hands-on experience operating trains
Proposal: A full-length intercity route from Den Haag to Groningen in Train Sim World

    ️ Why this route?
This is one of the longest and most diverse intercity lines in the Netherlands. It connects the bustling Randstad with the peaceful northern provinces, offering a rich mix of urban infrastructure, scenic countryside, and technical variety.

    Key Stations
    - Den Haag HS
    - Leiden Centraal
    - Amsterdam Sloterdijk
    - Almere Centrum
    - Lelystad Centrum
    - Zwolle
    - Assen
    - Groningen

    Proposed Rolling Stock
    - ICMm Koploper – iconic Dutch intercity
    - VIRM – widely used double-decker
    - ICNG – modern high-speed unit
    - SNG Sprinter – for regional services
    - Freight locomotives – via Meppel and Onnen

    ⚙️ Technical Features
    - ATB EG and ATB vv signaling
    - Optional ERTMS section on the Hanzelijn
    - Realistic scenarios: peak hour traffic, delays, rerouting
    - Free Roam and Conductor Mode for immersive gameplay

    Personal Motivation
    > “As the son of a Dutch train driver, I’ve spent years watching and learning from the cab. I know how it feels to operate a train, and I’d love to share that experience digitally with others. This route isn’t just long and varied—it’s a tribute to Dutch railways and the people behind them.”

Bit long I'm afraid. Although we already have Zwolle-Groningen, even if they'd make an extension, I don't see it going past Almere.
