The First Italian Route for Train Sim World (Suggestion). This is a section of the Italian High-Speed Line that runs from Salerno in Campania in the south to Torino (Turin) in Piemonte (Piedmont) in the Northwest. Around 188.4 Kilometers/117 Miles of track from two different lines run from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station through the Apennine Mountains from the region of Tuscany to the region of Emilia-Romagna into Bologna Centrale Station through old & modern tunnels, scenic mountain valleys, & urban hubs. After departing Bologna Centrale Station, the high-speed line branches off after Bologna San Ruffillo Station and heads through a long & curvy tunnel under the Apennines and rejoins the rest of the trains just before Firenze Castello Station on the final approach into Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station. The Conventional Line runs through mountain valleys and towns as well and many different sized tunnels, as curves a lot more than the high-speed Apennine tunnel which also includes some stations whereas the high-speed line has none after splitting from the conventional line. Route Map (Not Everything here needs to be included, I'm just giving the full spectrum of this line for Options) Operators on this route include Trenitalia, The National Railway Company of Italy, & Italo, a private train company in Italy. A Multitude of services blanket the route including Trenitalia's Premier Frecciarossa Services which reach speeds up to 300 kilometers/hour, Trenitalia's Frecciargento aka "Silver Arrow" which can go up to 250 km/h, Italo High Speed Trains competing with Frecciarossa also going up to 300 km/h, Trenitalia's Inter City (IC) & Inter City Notte (Night) trains with stops along the way and can reach 200 km/h, to conclude passenger services are the Regional Trenitalia Trains. Freight services are also operated on this line by Trenitalia. Locomotives and/or Train Sets on this route include Italo's AGV & EVO Sets, Trenitalia Frecciarossa ETR 500, Frecciarossa ETR 1000, ETR 600 & 610 Frecciargento Pendolinos which can tilt for the high-speed services. Trenitalia Intercity Trains run with E.401 or E.464 Electric Locomotives hauling Vivalto Double Deck Coaches & Cab Cars or UIC-1Z single deck Coaches & Cab Cars. Regional trains use ETR 521 Double Deck "Rock" EMUs, Trenitalia "Pop" ETR 104 Single Deck EMUs. For Freight, E.483 (Member of the TRAXX Family) & E.403 Electric Locomotives with Sggmrss Container Rail Cars for Intermodal Trains. I would love an Italian line and I like the inclusion of the slow and fast lines between the two wonderful cities.
+1! Made some mistakes here, but that's understandable... What you're proposing represents the two "fast" lines, connecting Bologna to Florence. The green line is the proper high-speed variant; red one represents the old direct path. First one is served by high-speed trains (Pendolinos, 500, 1000, Italos etc.). Second one is traveled by Intercity (day/night), some fast regional (E.464+Vivaltos) and fast freight trains (intermodal, mostly). There are also two "conventional" routes, connecting the two cities: Transapenninica (via Pistoia) and Faentina (via Borgo S. Lorenzo). Four lines in total! Personally, don't like the high-speed line here... it's a boring 35/40min journey almost entirely in tunnels! Would prefer something conventional based, honestly! PS. You can look through my suggestions; there you'll find a great selection of Italian routes!
