so i've been trying to modify the ai in a game scenario and adding the wagons so i can couple them but then something is off, when i try to do that, the game crashes with a error that says "fatal error in mode Scenario During Update Within windows manager" it happens to any route like route transylvania v3 for example, and also, i have nothing corrupted in the game
The last post in this thread seems to suggest there is a problem with an Asset https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/4204742681383682501/ "This means TSC hits a corrupt blueprint (.bin, which is serialized .xml data) it can't process, which is the fault of the asset provider." Try creating the scenario using Only items you have bought thru Steam. If you are able to create the scenario than it in one of the other Non-DTG assets you are trying to use.
Create a Scenario just using DTG Stuff plus Paid for Third Party rather than Freeware and see if it works ok. When it works swap a few things out for what you want with LocoSwap and try the scenario again. If it still works swap more things until you have what you want. But test it between adding one lot of locos and stock and others. If it crashes after adding a type of wagon or loco you will have found out the defective asset.
It is what I do when a scenario does not work. I had one recently where I was missing some locos and stock so I changed them with LocoSwap But one of the items was faulty, a reskin, and I never used it before so it crashed the game.
so does that mean that i have to use crashlog to see the culprit? also, when i add a mod to the game directory it tells me that the file already exist, should i replace it or not?
Not until you get the Crash having gone thru other options. Select YES - The file you have might be a newer version of the one you already have on your computer. And TEST it with a Free Roam and place this new stock in some sidings to see if it works. Not testing it will cause you problems if it does not work as it might cause the Scenario to Crash - sound familiar ? Create a Scenario or if you have one that does not work Change ALL Trains to DTG Default - NO Repaints. Then Run the Scenario - if it does not work then you need to work out why If the Scenario works then change with LocoSwap a few locos or wagons Save the Scenario and test it. If the Scenario works then change a few more locos and wagons.
TSC is a very unforgiving platform. Add things which clash with the code then - no dice! Add things methodically and test then - perfection. Best to treat with logical analytics rather than a sledge hammer.
