Good day, Forums! I thought it wouldn't be too bad to share my development progress on here aswell. I am in the beginning steps of creating the, probably famous, H series train that runs on the subway network of Berlin, operated by BVG. Now, I know the forums already, so I can see the question coming: "why make a train that will have no use if there is no route for it?". Don't worry, that's exactly what I asked myself aswell. Who knows, though, maybe there will be a route afterwards, but that is not likely to happen as of now. I am currently building the model(s) in Blender, which I started with in just about mid-June. I have already made quite some progress, which I would like to share. I don't know what else to say right now except that I have a LOT of things planned for this and am excited about what the future may show both me and you.
I’m definitely curious to see how this turns out and who knows, maybe it’s the first step to inspiring someone to create a route for this train.
Hey, just gonna share something small tonight. I was in Italy for a week which means that I really couldn't progress much during that time, but within the last two nights or so I managed to throw together a decent model for the front face of the vehicle which I personally am quite happy with. I'll of course work further on it, but to show what it looks like right now, here's a screenshot: Until next time, I guess :P
News time! Although, not that much progress from last time (that might be a small understatement). Here's what's new on the front: - walls around the destination display window at the top and the display itself - inside surfaces for headlights aswell as the bulbs themselves - Kursanzeiger ("course display") - wipers Here's what's new on the outer body: - speakers above the windows - coach end segment - metal thingies on the roof (idk what they are called) - undid a detail at the bottom edge which I was apparently just imagining Here's what's new inside: - "Berliner Fenster" destination & news/advertisement displays - coach end segment - thingies below the seats that are yet to be made (idk the name of those either) There may be some other things I forgot to point out. Here are a few 4K renders:
Little update today to show more progression. Added seats, missing poles and handles to hold onto to the interior (very few more poles are still missing but will be added). A fire extinguisher is also visible, and the frame of the openable window has also been modeled into the main window frames. Oh, and the gangway has also been modeled.
