What routes are you looking forward to driving the Class 220 and also the 802 on after the full release on Setpember 30th 2025. Personally i am looking forward to driving the 220 as an 8 Car unit in an 4+4 setup on the Fife and Leven Route doing services between Level and Edinburgh. I am going to try my remake the Crosscountry 2025 Livery for both the 220 and also the 802 I hve made the Crosscountry 2025 Livery on the 801 9 Car set which i believe i uploaded for the Community to enjoy.
I would use the Class 220 and Class 802 on the below routes Fife and Leven Midland Mainline: Leicester - Derby/Nottingham East Coast Mainline: Doncaster - Peterborough West Coast South
I am looking forward to using them on a few routes including the ones listed below. ECML Doncaster - Peterborough WCML South Brighton Main Line Fife Circle and the Leven branch.
Are they not going to layer this unit into backwards routes? I mean they do it for everything German.
German trains have the benefit of substitution, on a much wider scale than UK stuff. Very hard to sub in new UK trains when they’re all varying lengths & ToC’s. They basically nearly always require a new layer. For the 220 & 802 there are currently 0 substitution options.
I'd like to hope the 220 would appear on Birmingham cross-city, as the timetable pack for that route was fairly recent and they must have been aware of the 220 while developing it.
Maybe the 158 for leven timetable was delayed into tsw 6 as to include the 220 between Edinburgh and Markinch?
The 220 can be added to a lot of UK TT’s as they run just about everywhere. I don’t just want to drive it on those routes in Free Roam, I want to see it as ai traffic as well.
They should be adding trains which aren’t in the game yet to the files when making a timetable or basically just have services for when the train needed is added and that would save time
Hard to disagree with that. I also don't buy all this "We'd have to rebuild the timetable from scratch", since when the AI services were added to the Birmingham Crosscity, the timetable creator made a copy of the old one and added in the extra services.
Agreed but that doesn’t really happen for German trains either, it just seems that way as they can substitute more.
They don't do it for everything German, it's just substitution given you have lots of trains that can do similar things - mainly with the many electric freight locos. The ICEs, IC trains and DMUs don't appear on routes before they were released, even where they have many services.
On the subject of Cross-city, they must have known the Voyager was coming when they released the new timetable, so it would have been sensible to add these services in preparation. It's been done before.
