DTG Adam In the recent dev diary for the upcoming Dresden–Leipzig route in Train Sim World 6, Dovetail mentioned that they went back to review the ICE T sounds. However, during the preview stream nothing specific was shown or explained, so it’s still unclear what exactly has changed. While this could mean improved traction, braking, or cab sounds, no direct comparison or detail has been provided yet. For now, we only know that the ICE T will return with its liveries, but the extent of the sound update remains to be seen once the route releases.
Just got an answer from Matt. He told me that it was planned, but due to passenger announcements coming to TSW, there wasn't enough time to complete it. But I still hope, that we'll get it in the future
Personally I am much more annoyed that we still have the old PZB bug that prevents us to identify restrictive mode…
Im just shaking my head really. Why advertising it when you know that it isn't going to make the cut. Also in that regard, the station announcement are what i was expecting, in the stream after they stood in Dresden Hbf after the first Service you could hear a Station announcement : Train XY to Dresden Hbf departing at 9:51 am.... It was the train that arrived there. Combined with the train announcement calling the wrong platform side im really not convinced that this should be in the release build. And its again a massive shame, because the voices and style of announcements are actually quite realistic.
I talked with Matt on the Q&A on Discord about it, and he is going to talk with Adam about maybe continuing to work on the promised ICE T sound update. I just really hope that they'll do it.
Absolutely. But as im a long time player of TSW, i dont have high hopes. The route and trains won't differentiate massively (if at all) from what we've seen in the preview stream.
They are SO BAD at communication, it's just painful. This is the 2nd promised feature (1st being TSRs on all routes) to be walked back since the direct and associated TSW6 FAQ were posted, which was only 5 weeks before the full release date. How is the feature set not nailed down that close to release? How are they beta testing then? We're not talking polishing phase here, these are major features! It's mind-boggling and certainly their process contributes to the annual bug-fest. I'm much more positive on the train and station announcements though- from the stream it sounds like the system is highly customizable and easy to tweak once it's set up initially and for a first attempt it sounded very good to me. It's fully toggleable so please, don't ask for it to be removed.
I find it all rather messy, more of a shambles really. Lots of hype during the announcement, but what’s really left of it? Practically everything has been pushed into a “post release”... Quite painful, really.
This is the issue I really don’t see many people complain about. It’s frustrating they’ve still not fixed it for TSW6. I did ask this in the Q&A thread but there was no answer.
The ICE-T from FTF suffers from a tilting problem, it is common to see that half of the set tilts and the other does not, so there is an unsightly step between the individual parts of the set ... we noticed the same problem a few days ago in a video, I think from Train Sim Society on YT from the TSW6 version on the Dresden - Leipzig line ..... so it doesn't look like an update in this direction either
This is for more experienced drivers not a big deal. I know exactly when restrictive mode is active so i do not need to worry about it
I would recommend ... do not buy on promises! Perhaps catch the free version and hold off on the routes, even though this could mean to pay more. But ... I would rather pay the full price of a route. Therefor it must be in a good shape playable and the features presented in the announcement should work as promised. DTG burned every ounce of trust I had in them. They must deliver before they earn any penny from me.
While that is true, you also have to remember on which trains the PZB behaves like it should and where the timings are completely off (like on the extremely old and buggy 442 that will be the only available train on Leipzig on consoles ).
That’s a fair point! I do try with PZB, but I always get caught out one way . I really hope they do update the ICE-T (and the 1 & 3) to show the correct PZB though.
For me its not just about their communication. Its about them talking the talk and not delivering. High claims were made and even those are cut back step by step. It feels like they trying to hook new players and customers with faulty claims. And then getting told "optimisation is one of our highest priorities" just to realise that they cannot show any improvements at all on that front but hey, look at the new shiny things we got ! Just reading through the forums shows quite a clear picture of what a big chunk of players expecting. They acting like they dont know about any problems, which is obviously untrue. They are still around here reading the threads. Again missed to polish and optimise TSW, telling the players to deactivate layers so the route doesn't crash, and then telling us that it isn't really changing anything. Im feeling fooled honestly and something isn't right in their management department. Im not wishing any of the features to be kept away from the game, but im honestly not interested in yet even more half baked features. Such potential again wasted. And sorry but the preview stream was simply embarrassing. Showing clearly what's wrong and then being smiled away.
Matt said on stream that the issue of calling the wrong platform side was already fixed in a later build.
