French railways are still almost absent in TSW, and many players would love to see more diversity! Here are some realistic suggestions: TGV Sud-Est : Lyon – Avignon (120 km / 75 mi) – Iconic high-speed line with classic TGV Sud-Est sets. TER Marseille – Toulon (65 km / 40 mi) – Beautiful coastal scenery with AGC B81500, Régiolis B83500, and some Corail + BB 22200 trains. Transilien J : Paris Saint-Lazare – Mantes-la-Jolie via Poissy (50 km / 31 mi) – Frequent suburban services with Z 50000 "Francilien". Why France? A mix of high-speed, regional and suburban services, plus iconic trains railfans would love to see in TSW!
Driving the LGV Med to build up the Sept Mastery mileage, I’m still struck by how nice and atmospheric - typically Gallic if you like - Marseille and the immediate area look. Would be nice to get a classic SNCF route rather than more high speed. Well at least we know Matt has debunked the as it turned out unfounded rumour SNCF are refusing licences or access for their content in TSW, remains a question of DTG being convinced another French route is viable.
Need. France is a beautiful country with so many scenic railway routes. I'd personally favour a busy but rural/rustic route rather than a TGV one. I'd love Toulouse to Limoges.
+1 (mandatory here)! A new French route is desperately needed in TSW! Personally, would prefer a conventional one. Something like PLM (outside Paris or Bourgogne), French Riviera (Marseille-Ventimiglia), or Occitanie (Toulouse-Narbonne or Narbonne-Portbou)! And why not a LGV Méditerranée remake, introducing the TGV Réseau?
Perfect! Then there's a lot of lines that can be introduced. And as for the trains, I'd love to see Corail trains or the regiolis, for example.
Well, I'm not going to lie to you, I'm French. So it doesn't matter in which region a potential new French line will be located, and it doesn't matter if it's a metro line, regional express network, regional express train, transilien or high-speed line, I'll be very happy! But that also means I know a lot about it, so I've got some suggestions. If the new line has to be a high-speed line, like you I'd like them to introduce the TGV Réseau. It would also be ideal if we had a classic line with PLM stations, or a regional express train (TER) line with AGCs, Régiolis, regio2n, TER NG or ATER. So any French line is welcome in the game! It's now up to the TSW teams to decide. After that, if they really don't want France, Spain and Italy are fine, but I'd prefer France!
I hope they will be, because I don't see how France can be sidelined in the rail sector. They've got the licences (or at least they can easily get the ones they don't already have) and it's not a new discovery because, as you said, we've already got the lovely LGV Méditerranée.
Ya bien eu PMP - La Verrière dans Trainz, alors pourquoi pas ! C'est juste le matériel qui manquait... dommage, parce qu'à l'époque, yavait encore du matos sympa (genre Z5300). (Got an interesting stretch in Trainz, but the rolling stock was missing. You British love your 'BR blue era', but we, frogs, won't see ours anytime in TSW...)
I have fond memories of several classic train journeys in France. Calais Maritime to Basel and return on the overnight train via Charleville. Paris to Nimes via the Cevenol. Paris to Basel which surprisingly was diesel hauled throughout in both directions. Dieppe Maritime to Paris off the night boat from Newhaven. Paris to Calais Maritime via Amiens. And another great one was Valence to Geneva, some great mountain scenery and again diesel hauled throughout. Selection of Corail and the SNCF variation on the UIC corridor stock.
OldVern They could also "play" with the LGV Méditerranée: Avignon Sud/Centre + Avignon TGV branch (shuttle connection) and all way down to Miramas (via Tarascon/Arles). A very fast and direct line, with two huge freight yards at each end! They could do it to Marseille in the future (via Rognac or "Côte Bleue"), taking advantage of route hopping! Essentially, the ordinary line to Marseille!
Personally, two routes that I would like would be the RER D (without Malesherbes branch because too long : +50 km to added, and without or opitional Villeneuve Saint Georges - Melun via Combs la ville because Transilien R route just below will have this branch) : 113 km And Transilien R , Gare de Lyon - Montereau via Herecy and via Fontainebleau : 112 km (+optional : the complete route with Montargis branch 164 km in total so It may be the same as Dresden - Leipzig) A variety of trains : Z2N ,Regio2N, RER NG (if the period is end of 2024) and Z50000 for Transilien H even if it's a short trip and if the period is before 2018 we could even have Z5300 After them, it's my routes that are close to my heart, but any French route is fine with me as long as it's not a TGV-only routes like LGV Méditerranée
I live in the Paris region, so like you, I'd prefer lines in the Île de France. As you saw in the message, I suggested Transilien J because it's the branch of Transilien that passes in my department (78 Yvelines) and which also passes in my town which is Vernouillet (Vernouillet-Verneuil station) just after Villennes-sur-Seine and Poissy. This route will allow us to drive the emblematic BB27300 with the VB2N, and also the Z50000. Concerning the RER, I'd prefer the RER A because I've taken this line many times and it stops at important stations, making it the most frequented line in Europe (I think).
Hi again! Since my first post, I thought I’d share a few more French routes that could be great additions to TSW: LGV Atlantique: Paris Montparnasse – Le Mans (~130 km / 81 mi) Rolling Stock: TGV Atlantique, TGV Duplex Why: One of France’s most iconic high-speed lines, perfect for long high-speed runs. TER Alsace: Strasbourg – Mulhouse (~100 km / 62 mi) Rolling Stock: Régiolis, Regio 2N, BB 26000 + Corail Why: A busy regional corridor with beautiful scenery and varied rolling stock. Transilien N: Paris Montparnasse – Rambouillet (~40 km / 25 mi) Rolling Stock: Z 57000 “Regio 2N,” BB 27300 + VB2N Why: Classic commuter operations with dense traffic and a suburban feel. France has so many possibilities, and these routes would really bring more variety and realism to TSW!
I find all the Parisian lines interesting for a route for them except line U (short but variety of trains in his route) , ligne V (really too short for have his own route , must be included with the RER C) and RER B despite it being my local train, I have never been a fan I don't know why maybe because this line has a bad reputation especially I live in the northern part of the line, maybe only RER has a single-decker train or I simply don't find the line interesting even though it has beautiful stations (between Gare du Nord and Denfert-Rochereau), I really don't know why I'm not interested. Afterwards I chose the D and the R because I had already driven them during train driver training and I miss it a little
Si tu veux , j utilises juste l anglais par rapport au forum mais si tu veux parler français ça me dérange pas
If it's just to talk to me personally, I don't see the problem, especially since it's not written in the Code of Conduct that you have to speak English only, we can see some people speaking German. Afterwards, if it bothers some people, he can write in French and then put the translation in English after like some do, so everyone is happy.
Then message each other directly in French, rather than in this thread? Threads are open to everyone, therefore please use the language of the forum which is English. Merci beaucoup.
The forum is open to everyone, I'm not saying the opposite but a conversation between him and me if it's still in the subject of the thread (suggestion of French line) has no problem , after that if people want to react to that they can I never said the opposite. That's why, as I said, he can speak French to answer and put the English version below. Many people do that when they speak German and it doesn't bother anyone. I know. This is an English forum, but a little German or French doesn't hurt, especially if the English translation is just below. For example, the PC editor Berlin - Cottbus thread, you can see people speak German (with the English translation below) and no one complains. Without being mean, I find it a bit pointless to police of languages for the rare cases of other languages used on this forum, especially when there is the English translation with Anyway let's get back to the topic if you don't mind, I don't want it to be locked for a little quarrel especially since it is rare to have thread suggestions on French lines
