Hey everyone, returning back fo train simulator this week for the first time in about 5 years.

I sorry if this has been asked already, out of interest what is the longest continuous UK route in train simulator?

    Cheers

    Halil

    Welcome!

As far as I know the Southwestern Expressways is the most extensive one, covering about 300 miles. Maybe an issue upon launch but should be fine ever since x64.

On Steam I'm afraid the longest route is the actual oldest ECML, spanning about 80 miles. There are a couple remasters iirc, the original is not bad actually from the cab / lean out views and ideal 2D weather choices (including AP) but it definitely looks like a game and less real. Check my weekly screenshot post, the 3rd pic rolled that route.

As for length, my longest drive has been West Highland Line Extension (Ft William to Mallaig), takes about 2 hours, it also has nonstandard scenery so I'd definitely recommend that. I also heard about a similar route taking even 3 hours. Both routes are shorter in miles, but the speed limit and curviness prolongs them.

If you intend to drive higher speed trains for a longer distance, you should also look for the other ECML segments, London-Pb is a close second (but 45 minutes given the speed) and the WCML has pretty good segments, too. Old versions often have scenery remasters, there are also scenery and sky replacement options, and occasionally route merges.

    Hey there, cheers for this.
I actually stumbled across a merged route which I saw on youtube called "West Coast Mainline North West and Scotland" which has
WCML North, WCML Over Shap & Edinburgh to Glasgow routes merged in one. Its approx 195 miles.
Really good route and playing around with some custom scenarios which I am adding HST's to it as love HSTs

I see there is Western Mainline which is the longest route, from Paddington to Penzance, which is approx 300 miles and looking forward to purchasing that route fully to drive that and do some really great scenarios around that.

Many thanks for reaching out and cheers again.
