I have already pre ordered the deluxe version for Xbox. But l will no longer purchase the Steam version as well because of the unnecessary redownloading of all your content.

When there is a new release of TSC it downloads onto your original files so why do we have to have separate folders for TSW.

That’s it for me with DTG, just not buying both versions anymore.

However, the free Starter Pack doesn't contain any add-ons, so you'll need to purchase them separately or get a Train Sim World 6 pack when you're ready for more.

As a Playstation player with no PS+, can I confirm that there is no benefit to me in pre-ordering other than Early Access? If so, I'll probably wait till after release and see how other people find it and then potentially purchase the GWR route + 220 only. Realised I'm not really interested in the overseas routes, and I kind of got stung with TSW5 as I preordered the expensive deluxe pack and things just didn't work properly for so long.

 

There is no benefit to it without PS+. I’m not entirely sure why that’s a pre-requisite for the discount to be honest. Probably better for you to wait.

it’s cheaper, admittedly marginally, in your case to wait for release, to buy the riviera and 220 if you wanted it. I think it’s £30 for the riviera and roughly £10 for the 220.

So for your needs, £12.99 if you just wanted the 220 or £42.98 for the Riviera too. I would probably pick up GWE now, or wait for a sale if you plan to get the remaster anyway and don’t already own it.

 

Early access on PS5, when there will be no access to additional maps, is quite misleading......because one will not enjoy it and the feedback on whether the performance has improved will also not be relevant

It was the same with TSW5, on the PS Store until the full release, i.e. from September 30th.

 

Because early access only grants early access to the new stuff.

I’m sorry, but you don’t need early access to existing content.

As Jack said above, it grants you access to the new stuff. Which is quite literally what early access is for. I can report back about the steam edition if it allows you to copy the .pak files from 5 to 6 to avoid re-downloading existing content.

Okay, and…? You said additional maps. That wouldn’t mean your current content in this context. It would mean the new DLCS, surely?

I respect that you clarified your point, but you still have TSW5 to access your old content for the… five day wait:…

I am quite happy to call DTG out, as I did with CCN, and I still believe it lacks quality in places including the lack of concourse. But I think you’re looking for an issue that simply doesn’t exist with this.

 

I'm not looking for a problem, I just stated that new DLC maps cannot be run with full operational content during early access, additional layers will not be available on PS5 at that time.... that's just a statement of fact

early access has only ever granted access to new content only.

 

Apart from those on Steam, who last year got access to their old content when early access went live for TSW5.

 

I don't recall getting old content myself in early access for TSW 5... But, still... this is a real non-issue.

 

I'd forgotten too, mostly since the early access was full of WCLMS issues! But nonetheless it did happen:

 

To everyone saying you get access to new content is slightly misleading, you get access to the new content without layers from existing content so your first impressions will be of a ghost town for much of Dresden and Riveria (unless you’re on steam). Personally I don’t understand why DTG would want players first impressions to be based on anything but the best experience possible, and that only comes when layers are activated imo

By the GWR route I meant the Riviera line - just couldn't remember its name
