    Route: Bahnstrecke Salzburg-Rosenheim
    Journey Mode Chapter: On TRAXX
Service: DGS (45850) Wels to Wolfurt

Can someone please give this one a try to see if I'm doing something wrong? I am unable to climb the hill. I always lose traction and wind up rolling backwards. The closest I've made it is about 47km away from the destination. I've tried speeding up before the hill, sanding, using AFB, but nothing I've tried can get me traction up the hill.

This YouTube video from 5 months ago shows the service being completed in what appears to be the same conditions as Journey Mode, but they don't seem to have the traction problems I do:

I am interested to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's any way to work around the traction problem!

The suspension update has made the Salzburg 185.2 completely unusable, if you look at the acceleration and braking indicator, you can see that it keeps flickering and alternately changes to the acceleration and braking range although the set AFB speed has not been reached. In addition, the traction motors do not give the power they should and since the patch the loco only runs at a maximum of 2 km/h in reverse.

Thank you both for the responses! It appears that my issues with this service are related to the recent 185.2 bugs introduced by the suspension patch. Hopefully we get a fix for this soon!

The introduced in the August suspension update has but okay, On TRAXX made the Salzburg 185.2 is On TRAXX journey mode chapter: (4 services completed and 2 services cannnot completed) minor issue due heavy freight trains unavailable to move train.
Complete services Journey Mode Chapter status:
4 services journey mode chapters can completed:

    • 1. DGS (42826) Pordenone to Oberhausen West
    • 2. KT (41811) Maschen Rbf to Salzburg Liefering
    • 3. DGS (41821) Rheinhausen to Ljubljana Moste
    • 5. DGE (42859) Giengen (Brenz) to Triest Campo Marzio
2 services journey mode chapters cannot completed:
    • 4. KT (41810) Salzburg Liefering to Maschen Rbf
    • 6. DGS (45850) Wels to Wolfurt
    Bug/Reason:
    1. The journey mode services affected: (4. KT (41810) Salzburg Liefering to Maschen Rbf) and (6. DGS (45850) Wels to Wolfurt)
    2. This is caused by a bug in suspension train (Cab 2) 185.2 (SRM Version), can't reverse faster than 2 kmh (cuts power, some random direct brakes).
    3. But unfortunately, the suspension train BR 185.2 (Salzburg-Rosenheim version) will cease operation in February 28, 2025 due heavy snow weather, heavy freight trains unavailable to move train for lose traction and wind up rolling backwards. please other non-suspension legacy train is not affected services.
    4. R.I.P. suspension train BR 185.2 (Salzburg-Rosenheim version) 2024-2025 has 1 Years in service. (so sad)
    5. The suspension train (SRM Version), TSW5 will no longer for services.

I came up with a workaround for DGS (45850) Wels To Wolfurt:

    1. At the start, reverse towards the red signal behind you.
    2. As you reverse towards the red signal, switch to the rear end camera and wait until the rear car of the train reaches the stretch of track without any switches crossing through it.
    3. Stop the train. Exit the train and run to the rear of the train.
    4. Spawn a locomotive behind your train. I used the BR155 from Bremen-Oldenburg. I’m certain that other locomotives would work too.*
    5. Return to the front of your train. Reverse and couple to your new locomotive.
    6. Now you can use the CTRL+/CTRL- commands to switch between cabs.**
    7. From the front loco, set the reverser to forward and release the brakes. Switch to the rear loco, and get it driving forward and pushing your train. This is to make sure that the rear loco is actually working.
    8. Now you can manage the throttle on both locomotives to climb the hill that is currently unclimbable with the single 185.2 loco.
    9. Later in the service, you may encounter a red signal on a 0.5% incline. You will need to use the power of the rear loco to get the train moving again once the signal clears.
    10. Enjoy your completed service and journey mode checkmark!

*If you face the rear of your train when you spawn, the new locomotive should spawn in the same forwards orientation as your train. If you face away from away from your train, the new locomotive will spawn in the backwards direction. I accidentally spawned mine backwards. The workaround still works, but I had to set its reverser to reverse, and it was trickier to switch cabs with CTRL+ and CTRL- because it would spawn me in the inactive cab of the new locomotive. I had to walk to the active cab each time I needed to make adjustments.

**Console players without keyboards should still be able to pull this off by opening the windows of the rear locomotive and adjusting its controls using the rear camera.
