Alright, all negative opinions on my end about this situation are now gone (except for the yearly releases, I still think that's unnecessary) becuase of this! We did it everyone, we got our stuff back, even if it's not all at once, knowing that it's for sure that we're getting all our content is great to hear.

It was nice raising awareness here with everyone in this thread, but we finally got what we wanted. I hope you all will enjoy your add-ons in this iteration of TSW, and let's seriously hope that this doesn't happen again in future iterations, but the question is: Does this not raise a concern with releasing yearly iterations if something like this could happen and scare players? Everyone on the team should still consider if this is the best way moving forward, they need to learn from this and be more transparent next time.

That being said, it's great that we have a solution now. Therefore, I have no further comments on this thread unless something changes. Thanks everyone, I knew we could do it and win this. ;)

As stated many times, not a PC player, but glad for Epic users that a resolution has been found.:D

Likewise, not affected as I'm on Steam, but very glad to see that Epic users will get to bring their whole collection over.

It does, though, serve to highlight why this annual 're-release the same game under a new name and re-download all your collection' debacle has to stop. The marketing push cannot continue to be worth the amount of time, effort and hassle (for DTG as well as players) it takes, compared to a core update and a pack of routes.

While this is a welcome resolution, there's no guarantee Epic players will be able to port their entire collection in the next iterations of TSW.

    Rejoice, but temporarily.

even though I'm a steam player, I'm happy for you, epic games players, and congrats to dtg for really working to find a solution for this issue

Glad it's sorted for Epic players but it should never have been allowed to get to the stage where it became an issue aired in the public domain. Should have been resolved internally between DTG and Epic.

However as stated above, this should still be a warning shot across DTG's bows that, 1. They need to ditch the annual "new game" paradigm and 2. They need to seriously look at the amount of content for the game which is running out of control, whether by splitting into pure regional editions or some other solution.

I mean, we do keep asking for more transparency. I imagine they told us because they weren't sure if it could be resolved. If it turned out that they couldn't give Epic players all of their content, would you rather they told us any later than they did (even though you had to dig through a long FAQ to find it)?

On another note, wasn't there a TSW5 DLC that wasn't released for Epic Games. The DLC that started the whole theory about the number 128? Will Epic Games be getting that DLC now?

Thanks for everyone's continuous contribution to this thread! Although I'm escaping to Steam due to this issue I wish all players staying on Epic can get their collection as fast as possible.
So now the question is, what was the issue?

I actually think DTG had good intentions here. They realised there was likely to be a problem and set expectations low before anyone committed any money. Then continued to work on it. If they hadn't said anything and didn't find a solution and people had already pre ordered, it would have been a lot worse to announce at this stage.

As it is, it's still not ideal with epic users having to wait. And who knows what will happen next year because I strongly suspect that there will be a new iteration again.

A bad situation made slightly better by today's announcements. I'm glad epic users will get their DLC eventually.

I never thought otherwise, but a little communication where the problem lies would have prevented a lot.
DTG-Chris does this mean the 101 expert gameplay pack comes to epic too ?

Excellent news to be sure. A delay is not perfect but I'm content to be patient. Kudos to the people who played a part in working this out.

Just a thought for DTG - The "How do I download my compatible content?" section of the FAQ still references "only a limited number of add-ons" being compatible for Epic.

This would be my only niggle, hopefully its not a case of the can getting kicked down the road.

I'm glad they've sorted it out for the Epic players! Even if there is delayed access for content for a platform. Again. Although quite rightly as Vern said it should've never gotten to this stage in the public eye.

Surely now DTG can see this new game every year just causes more trouble than it's worth now?

They should but, given also the now admitted stance on the save game slot issue, I am beginning to think as a company they are arrogant beyond belief. Just think they are right and the paying customers should sit back and take it.

I'd like to see some sort of guarantee that this won't just happen again next year, and possibly without the favorable outcome we were lucky to get this time.

    Hello everyone,
Great news for Epic Games players: they'll be able to get their DLCs purchased with TSW, even if it's done in two installments!!! Better late than never. The problem, as many of us are reporting, is now what will happen next year and in other years with this platform-specific licensing system. As a PC player of TSC/TSW2/3/4/5 and soon the 6th installment, and on Steam for over 10 years, who can guarantee me and anyone else in the same situation that we won't be affected by this problem either? Console players... it would be good to sort this out once and for all!!!
[At least, that's my personal opinion, and therefore, it's only my opinion!!!]
    Sincerely, tof

If you still can't get the 101 Expert Gameplay Pack on Epic, you can still use it.

All you need to do is get the 101 Expert Gameplay Pack from Steam and copy it into your Epic TSW.

Other users have already mentioned that this also works on Epic.

At least 3 installments, 2 for the original 60, I would say probably another 4 or 5 to get the full collection

Yes, that may be the case, because it wasn't officially purchased from the Epic Store.
You will need a small tool for this.

If you have any questions, just send me a private message.

Yes, if I were an Epic player I might be cautiously optimistic. But there's a vagueness there, isn't there?

On a general level, none of us on any platform is guaranteed forward compatibility beyond TSW6.

Yes I agree that this is the major takeaway. We all need to be aware that, no matter what platform we are on, we could lose some or all of our DLC with the next iteration. Or the one after that. So, in a way, this fiasco has a silver lining, in that the Epic players didn't lose anything in the end, but we have all received fair warning about what will eventually happen to all of us.

Might add that this experience could serve as a cautionary tale for DTG that this annual upheaval might not end well next time.

Time to ditch the annual MGR??

Just read the news in this thread. Well ... I'm happy for all Epic fellows who were hoping for this. But ... DTG and promises ... it gives me bad feelings. As well as the annual redownload does.

I think this time I can wait a little longer than last time (got it in the first sale). Sometime next year I can have a look IF all DLC will be available and IF so I still can evaluate if this is worth it for me. Until then I have a lot of content to enjoy and luckily also other games I love. And if I'm lucky I don't even have to bother with TSW and DTG and Redownloads anymore. :P

Fortunately, it ended well, but did this really need to exist? I mean, we're talking about online products here not a hardware limitation or anything like that. It's just a ridiculous story. First it wasn't possible, and then suddenly, when there's a lot of attention and criticism, it is possible... So much wasted time for nothing. I just don't understand this kind of logic!

Don't forget to claim your free TSW6 starter pack soon. Then you can wait as long as you want for dlc. ;)

I don't think they said it was impossible. DTG seldom do say that. They usually say 'we're looking at potential solutions but for now it's best to assume the worst'.

I congratulate Epic players on this small victory. But this is more of a victory in battle than in war. As mentioned above, this short-lived joy will only last until the announcement of the next TSW N+1 next year, and since the DLC will be released closer to Christmas, there will be less than a year before this problem can repeat itself.
Like many others, I will say that it is time to end these pointless annual TSW re-releases in order to avoid such problems, and many others, such as those related to licensing. DTG, please listen to your community!

Aside from all the Epic-related issues, the annual release system just isn’t enjoyable. You get everything crammed into 6 to 8 months, and especially in April and May, there was a bizarre amount of content dumped all at once just to clear space for the months when nothing comes out and work begins on a new game version. Personally, I’d much prefer a short summer break and then steady, ongoing releases. Not this rushed and sloppy push to deliver everything by September. I honestly don’t see the point of it at all.

Not to comment on anything new but.. are we going to get any news on the phases past October 14th soon? It's now less than a week away from Phase 2 of the DLC releases but we haven't heard anything from them.. hoping we get some news soon. :)

(Just saw the layer capability for WCML Birmingham and it would be nice to have those extra layers in as soon as possible...)

Maybe they might have something to say during the roadmap stream...? I don't know but hopefully they have something new to tell us.

Yeah it would be nice to hear some further details about this. It seems there have been further hiccups with Epic Games with the TSW2 core routes entitlements not being granted right away. Also two of the add-ons that were supposed to available on day one seem to be missing, Koln-Aachen and Nahverkehr Dresden.

Looks like just in the last two hours they added those entitlements, my add-ons total went up by four. Oddly Koln-Aachen and Nahverkehr Dresden still don't show in the store for TSW6 but clearly they are making some progress.

Likewise, High Iron stated in a comment on facebook that the ATSF pack will have its release date announced on the roadmap which is due in the next 14 hours or so, would be nice to get Sherman Hill to port over so layers can be seen (played?) on release

Can also confirm the stuff that was compatible and showing in my library yet not in game did install correctly and now show up as well.

    Baby steps...

Okay, so we got an answer on the roadmap stream about the Epic thing, they said they are expecting to get everything back in by the end of the free starter pack period, which is November 11th. So that's the date everyone that wanted to know when, it's any time before November 11th. Hopefully that helps. :)

By then, I think I would have layers on all future routes announced (maybe temporarily WCML Birmingham would be less only for like 2 weeks though, not a big deal I suppose) so that's good to hear.

But once again, I will only believe it once I see it.

Means I've got around a month for me to keep playing my collection on TSW 5 (which I am doing so temporarily right now until all the DLC get added to TSW 6), so yeah. I expect to fully get onboard to TSW 6 once all the DLC arrive.

Is there a rough time stamp for this to look for?

EDIT: seems like 1:09:15 is that segment start "we aim to get all of the compatible content out to epic players before the end of the free starter pack, so before November 11th"- JD

Unfortunately... seems like even though the two phases released... there's still DLC that doesn't show up which is frustrating... it should be fixed honestly. It's these:

    - Mildmay Line
    - Maintalbahn
    - Mittenwaldbahn
    - MBTA HSP46 Providence Line Pack
    - Both Thomas DLC (including the 80th anniversary one)

I almost always have to contact someone about this because it's not the first time I've faced issues like this, I did this in TSW 5 too which is annoying, even when they are released, problems like these come up where they're not installed or fail to show up. They should really try to mitigate and fix these issues when future phases release, and of course, fix these add-ons right now that aren't showing up. Quite frustrating, honestly. Should be really on the team to carefully check before the DLC is released so issues like these don't happen. :(

I too still do not have the HSP46 addon for Boston Sprinter, which seems to be a documented issue here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-sim-world-6-platform-entitlement-status.94159/
I assume you have checked the "manage addons" page to make sure the other content is installed?

Mhm, that's how I knew which add-ons were not showing up. Everything else on that list was fine to my knowledge. But why this happens in the first place is quite irritating... hopefully I don't have to contact them again after the rest of the DLC release..

Today, it seems like the Thomas DLC, Maintalbahn, and HSP46 packs are now showing up for me in the game. However, the Mildmay Line and Mittenwaldbahn have yet to be fixed since those still have problems.

And once again, I patiently await until the rest of the 60+ DLC arrive in the next phase so that I can get all of my layers back. :)

New update: Looks like we're getting somewhat of an exact date, since the FAQ was just updated, of when to expect the remaining add-ons to release: It will be around the week of 3rd November, so very soon, which is great news! :)
