I still can’t believe there are still no passengers spawning at Euston after all this time! One of the busiest stations in the game …deserted!

It's very unfortunate that this route has become one that they've swept under the rug and forgotten about...

But it’s this kind of thing that really puts me off buying any DLC for tsw! The frustrating thing is some routes are released mostly working , like in this case Euston had passengers! But then subsequent patches fix some things and break others , like in this case and are never fixed! I understand not all bugs can be fixed , but in this case this is a fairly big bug , spoiling the immersion of Euston! It’s been mentioned in streams but it seems it’s been forgotten about , which happens all too often!

And then we’re persuaded to buy new DLC’s which are again bugged and left in poor states, eg . NY Trenton ,( signalling) , NY LIRR , ( many stations with no passengers , driving empty trains, very few patches since release! )

I did recently buy Manchester airport from ATS , that route is great , no major bugs from what I’ve seen. That is how routes should be produced.

Same here, part of me regrets buying the North London Line DLC as although it looks really nice on the surface, the 378 is a very bugged train, probably in need of a rework, and I've found so many things about the route that need polishing. But anyway back on the topic of WCMLS, lets just say I'm happy that I waited until it was 80% off, most of the route is actually really nice, but the blurry textures, game crashing and lack of passengers really puts me off. Imo its still a very good route, but almost a year on from release these sorts of things really should be fixed.

I agree despite all the issues with it , I’ve quite enjoyed it , but it has needed a lot of patches , and a new timetable to get into an almost acceptable state! And it has been in acceptable states ( although some may disagree) , but I think currently it isn’t with no passengers at all at Euston!

I can not get the doors to open after joining the two units together, Nothing happens when I try to open the doors from the front cab, I have restarted the scenario twice but run into the same bug each time.

Can someone tell me what the speed limit is going into Euston. No matter what speed i do sometimes I get a penalty brake.

Is the auto brake below 2.5mph issue in the 350 ever going to be fixed? It was fine on the release of the route but now it makes depot shunting and coupling moves difficult, tedious and annoying.

I believe it’s 15 MPH at the platform ramp but you should be approaching the buffers at less than 10 MPH to avoid tripping the overspeed.

Well, actually there is a button on the driving desk with a flap over it labelled 'LOW SPEED'. This, I would assume, isolates the holding brake (1.5 BC reading which applies at a stand and <3mph), and also limits the train's speed to no more than 3mph. But it doesn't work. Also there are plenty of errors and faults with the 350.

    Here's a full list:
    - Brake physically are horrifically inaccurate (As someone pointed out it is such that in real life it wouldn't meet the safety requirements of the braking effort anyway lol).
    - In addition to the above, hitting the emergency brake lever will prevent the brakes from releasing. This also happens when you set the PBC to max brake and set the reverser to neutral (Regardless of why you would do this, the brake functionality is still inaccurate). Also, the bogies derail - weird.
    - Brake hold button doesn’t function anymore (I’m pretty sure it used to).
    - Half of the prompts on the TMS which could be simulated on the screen and/or functionally do not even work (Toggle interior lighting, Air conditioning (You could set temp and fan speed on the screen), Automatic Brake Test - which takes you to the screen instructing how to perform it but none of the boxes are ticked - hence it doesn't work).
    - AWS Sunflower does not glow in the dark.
    - Instrumental lighting shows incorrect level of illumination for day/ nighttime - in fact they're swapped.
    - The door control buttons do not light up as they should, including the door interlock indicator.
    - End gangway lights do not omit any lighting when gangway doors are opened. Also the cab lights do not turn automatically when this happens.
    - Transformer sound plays when pantograph is down.

Buttons which can be pressed but do not function (and can/ should also be simulated without exhausting effort):
    - 'LOW SPEED' flap button (Releases holding brake, train does not travel more than 3mph).
    - 'Power reduction' - reduces power output selected on PBC by 50%.

Will be adding to this list when I find anything new

I made a poll about an update for the 350 a few weeks back - maybe even a month ago - which was then 'deleted' (the update) and since have not seen it on PS5. What's happening with that? Slowly the Class 350 is becoming a bit of a dead train to drive

They really need to go back to the 350 and give it another really good patch! Does make you wonder sometimes whether DTG really cares about giving an accurate train simulation with so much missing and all those bugs .

I don't know if it's should post this on here or Mildmay line thread. But one thing I've noticed with the 378 is that on its services on WCML south, the second to last coach has a missing gangway on both 4 and 5 car units. I think it's just a simple fix by flipping the coach around but it's mildly annoying to have part of the train not there

I finally saw a 378 on a Watford to Euston overground service substituting for a 710 when I was operating a LNWR service. Is this a rare occurrence or have I just been unlucky not to see this happen all this time?:)

Do you also own Mildmay Line?

    If so, that's why.

Yeah I do. I just meant even tho I have owned both for a while it was the first time I’ve seen that happening so was just wondering if it was rare or I had just been unlucky!

I think it’s pretty rare. I’ve driven a service on WCMLS using the 378 but can’t recall ever seeing one as AI.

I remember reading that the Class 378 layer on WCML won’t appear as AI, only when driving the timetable you will see it

I've only seen the 378 as AI a couple of times, though it's usually on very early morning services or very late at night, not sure if this is intentional or if it's just random. It's pretty cool to see anyway, it gives some nice variety to the overground, even if it is just one train that's different.

Sorry for the late reply but found some more stuff to add to this lol. One of the bogies on the TOCL likes to do a funny dance and the cab ambient sounds seem to cut off after a short while. Really hope that they can fix all this rather then just leaving it as is.

Fortunately it's not a route I play very often, but given it was the "flagship" UK route for the release of TSW5 just a year ago I can't be the only one who finds it utterly shameful that DTG seem quite content to just keep it in such a problematic shape.
Will be sticking with the free starter pack for sure this year and content myself with the JT routes.

Some feedback and to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issues of crashing on loading in a service.
First time mentioning this issue but I have been unable to play most routes now on WCML South for some time.
It seems like one of the added Intermodal packs could be a reason and why not all are having or facing the same issues of crashing.

Each time an error report has been sent to Sony as I’m on a PS5 console.

So here is the first route I tried today. Each time a route chosen crashes I again will screen shot the route details and post them as evidence.

    IMG_7361.jpeg

Again TSW5 is not well so is TSW6 going to fix so many outstanding issues found in TSW5. Most notably the added packs.
I feel the more packs I buy the worse the gaming experience gets. Ie I use to be able to play this route with no problems.
Add a DLC pack and all that seems to happen is create more problems for the core route.

How can I experience what I’ve paid for in base game and added routes if all I’m faced with is non route ability.
So before I raise a ticket just wondering if this is a known issue.

    Thanks.

Have you tried uninstalling the specific pack to see if that is the root cause? It may be a case of just needing to reinstall it.

No I haven’t to be honest. I know sometimes doing what you suggest helps yet that can be a long drawn out process.

I will give it a try tho before jumping to conclusions, but I guess one tends to do that after so long playing this game.

Cheers anyway and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

To refresh my memory do you know why the licensing was cut before release?.

For depending on that reason would probably give some answers to your question.

In the long term, probably yes, will WCML south then be updated to reflect that, probably not.

There wasn’t much of an explanation from DTG into why it was removed, just that the train company backed out on the agreement set in place at the start of development.
There must be more to it than that. Was it too expensive for DTG to maintain the license?

I think the wording at the time from Alex was that it was a license they thought they had in place that it turns out wasn't the case. So I wonder if it had to do with having shown WMT in BCC the assumption was that LNWR came with that as it's the same company (WMR). Evidently the company has chosen to see them as distinctive brand licenses.

Matt speculated that with imminent nationalisation some UK TOCs are less interested in doing commercial deals when they are just running down the clock before they are taken over by the government. The hope is that Great British Railways will greatly simplify things for DTG as the relationship with DfT is still strong.

Well the lack of information from DTG could be due to non existent or close to expired licenses or franchise agreements. DTG couldn’t possibly give us the full answers because other TOCS are involved on future plans of brandings.
I don’t have a vast amount of knowledge on this subject but from what I’ve read there is talks off a merge between LNR, AWC and others as a franchise agreement is coming to a close in Oct 2026.

And was it down to cash. For I’d assume if any future plans are to take hold in 2026 then why would that effect arrangements prior to release of TSW5. Odd one if you ask me, yet who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

    ✌.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the future of some of these TOCs. A lot of restructuring is or will be taking place with what ever plans are laid out within a new government ran rail network. Yet the comment where you mention Alex and what he said would suggest that last minute something in the an agreed licensing deal was missed or not clearly covered.

A mistake covered up. Again tho who would ever know for sure.

    ✌.

And I’m here to give feedback on the crash issues.

I’ve followed a members advice and un installed a number of DLCs and routes that could be the cause.
On reinstalling the game did load in quicker yet on returning to the route from yesterday the same happened again.

Forgive my crude photo work. IMG_7368.jpeg Sony must have loads of these error reports now.

So my findings after uninstalling and reinstalling is, IT STILL CRASHES.
