The Amtrak Hiawatha is an 86-mile (138 km) train route that operates between Chicago, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Railroad CPKC owns this track, but lets Amtrak & Commuter rail use it. The journey typically takes about 90 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Its a perfect short, traffic filled route connecting major cities. There is also a Metra route Milwaukee District North, originating @ Chicago, that splits off at Rondout, IL for Libertyville, IL. The equipment on this route consists of: SC-44 charger locomotive Amtrak Midwest venture cars Metra SD70MACH Metra gallery cars (most variants) Amtrak NPCU F40. This forum was focused mostly on Amtrak & Metra, so please give more details if you can find them. This forum is just about the basic details of the route.
I like how you said it’s “perfect short” even though it’s 86 miles long which the game probably won’t be able to handle.
“Short” but casually would be the longest US route. shhhh don’t tell dtg and with only 6 round trips a day there’s not a lot of replay-ability here
90 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes? How many minutes do you think is in an hour? Spoiler: I It's 60 so 90 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes is the same. As above replies mentioned, I wouldn't call that short
The Metra SD70MACHs and Amtrak Midwest SC44 Chargers would be awesome to see. For freight services, we need a CP/CPKC SD30C-ECO, SD40-2, GP20C-ECO, GP38-2, SD70ACU, AC4400CWM, ES44AC (including CPKC new-livery units), and/or CPKC ET44AC. A Milwaukee Road version of this route would be cool. More fallen flag railroads should be added to TSW.
