This thread will stay locked until Early Access is available. Hello everyone, This is the dedicated master feedback thread for the TSW6 Menus & UI (User Interface). Please keep all discussions only related to feedback and provide the game platform you are using in any comments for feedback. Thank you! Visit our support page for informative articles and FAQs. Our dedicated technical support team is also available to assist you there. When providing feedback, please always add the following details if possible: Platform (i.e.: PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One) Service/Scenario played when the issue occurred. Repeatability. How often does this issue occur? Images/Videos of the issue occurring. As always, thank you for your feedback. All the best, Jan
Platform: XBox Series X When you choose a timetable service, the default weather is Dynamic, which is usual, but, when you go up and down that menu, the sliders which are greyed out, make it hard for you to identify where you are when you're going up and down.
The UI and menus are still a shambles. Bring back the TSW 2017 and TSW2 UI. Everything since has gotten worse.
Platform - PS5 Service - any Repeatability - all the time The “Apply” button does not work when adjusting settings while the game is paused. It just won’t register and apply the changed settings. It worked fine when doing initial settings from the top menu on the game home page but not when the settings are accessed through the pause screen during a service. I was adjusting audio settings on both routes I’ve played when I encountered this.
When viewing the requirements for Mastery Rewards on Series X, the text doesn't scroll, nor can it be scrolled manually. For instance, Morristown Line Tier 2 states, "Drive 40 miles, but it only counts if you successfully co...", so there is no way to know what the instruction is.
Some Japanese users may be pleased that Japanese text has been added, but there's no need for Japanese text in the UI and driving screen. It ruins the design. The most important thing is for the Training Center and scenario subtitles to be displayed in Japanese. If that's difficult, please extend the subtitle display time or allow users to pause them.
PC Player - STEAM Unable to use photo mode as the game won't save. Locally or to Dovetail cloud album. Vanilla Installation - verified game files on steam.
Total number of services finished/avl still says 00/00 like in TSW5 Was hoping since this was a new game this would be fixed, but alas
just to let you know as of yesterday i still have no game play sounds on TSW6. the only sound i have is the menu music. i have no game play sounds on all three routes. when i go to play a route what i have picked the menu music make a crack sound and then no sound at all whatsoever. Im on PS5 and build number 1.006. i still cant play the game
PC Player - STEAM the game doesn't SAVE anything once you exit the game, even simple things like MUSIC VOLUME - 0 resets to 100% when you next start the game.
Whenever you turn the announcements down and other things they all back to full volume when you exit the settings.
Overall the UI & Menus aren’t very impressive, but then they don’t need to be, they just need to be easy to use & overall they’re really not. I’d agree with others when they say TSW2020 era menus were better. The new brighter colour scheme for the UI is an improvement over TSW5 in a couple of areas, mainly when navigating the main tiles for selecting a secondary menu & trains etc, but then that edge highlighting just disappears on other sections & instead you’re left with the ‘fill’ system - it’s just oddly inconsistent & you’re then looking for something in an entirely different format. Things like selecting weather for a service just leaves you with only audio cues for moving up & down as there is no visual aid to show where you’re at, until it eventually reaches the top of the menu where you then go back to colour changing text. Navigating to the ‘search’ option in the timetable just leaves you with a barely changed colour of the search box, it becomes a slightly darker grey. Meanwhile navigating over to your profile & going across home/live & other headings give you a green highlight, but then when you click on certain items they get a blue highlight. It’s just all so random & feels really cheap with little thought being put into it. The above also results in confusion at times as you need to remember which colours mean you’re on a certain option or not. Again compounded by the fact that the ‘selected’ highlight can be a box fill of around 5 different colours, or no fill & perimeter of the option gets a different colour border. There’s then other issues such as anything that has text which needs scrolling on scenario, service & challenge descriptions - they can’t actually be scrolled. The layer menu is a mess quite frankly. Firstly it tells you all are enabled even if you don’t own them, the only way you can tell from the menu they’re not enabled is by the highlight from grey to dark grey. The actual header will always show you 28/28 (as an example), regardless of ownership of dependancies. They’re also all ticked. On the subject of dependencies the way they’re described is awful - the format can be a DLC name followed by an asset name, or just one or the other, again there’s no consistency to these descriptions. Base trains are listed as DLC where they should really show as base. There’s then of course just loads of TSW5 holdover images. Overall it’s just a mess, it’s like several people made the UI & menus separately, one person completing their assigned section before being passed to the next, each person never speaking to the last or actually seeing what they did. There is no flow & no user friendliness. The elements that could be described as user friendly are undone by the lack of consistency across the entire set of menus - speaking of which there are way too many secondary menus, almost everything to click into will require a series of further clicks to get anywhere, so when combined with the issues listed above, it’s just not a good experience. (editing to add this is on PS5).
I agree with the above post. It truly is awful this year. I would normally have a few notes to give but I wouldn’t even begin to know where to start this time. I’ll only stick to things that are broken and not try to school whoever put this UI together on what should be basic stuff for anyone doing UI design (or any kind of design for that matter), or how it needs to work well on console and not just with a mouse. It would be an absolute waste of my time as we are going back on lessons that have already been learned in the past, even from my own feedback. There’s even white text and slider graphic on a pale grey background for the active weather setting you are adjusting, barely visible, and having less contrast than the settings that are not being adjusted. I really don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It’s rank amateur stuff.
PC / Steam - Setting the "Enable Random Behaviors" menu option to "DISABLED" does not disable all the random behaviors. I got train doors stuck while playing in the Riviera Line with the 150 and Morristown line with the Arrow 3.
Not sure if this is the right thread . Anyone else think they add the time of day into the journey mode jobs.
The Layers button always shows that you have max layers enabled. Wrong. Then when you are scrolling through the layers, the one you have selected presents as grey text against a grey background. Impossible to read. Also in the loco selection screen, your activated button (such as "Filters") is white, while buttons that are not selected, are green. Backwards. Most of this has been previously mentioned, but worth a repeat. Very poor UI decisions. Series X.
