Honestly I don't know what dtgs problem is but they clearly don't even test their dlc on Xbox because especially since tsw5 released quality of dtg content especially on Xbox has just completely dropped. Nothing works as it should and I'm fed up of it. Audio issues, poor performance, you name it I'm fed up of it. Especially for the prices we pay aswell we shouldn't be getting our content this buggy and lacking in quality. DTG If you can't pull your fingers out [deleted; language - DTG Harry] and actually test your content on all the platforms you advertise for then don't produce content for those platforms because if it's just gonna be such poor quality as it is then what's the [deleted; language - DTG Harry] point. From now on I will not buy any DTG content in tsw, or any new content at all really other than maybe some JT content as they actually give us more playable content that's better quality and they aren't lazy [deleted; language - DTG Harry] like you guys at DTG are.
Don't blame DTG for your poor decision making in buying a console. Take your medicine and responsibility for your own actions.
Well being insulting is going to get your message across! I have complaints as to the way DTG come to some decisions but calling them lazy is disingenuous and frankly unfair.
I mean they still haven’t fixed a lot of tsw 2 era bugs so one would say it’s fair game to call them lazy
Lazy is a strong word to use, but misplaced direction and priorities somewhat yes. However swearing, even if you feel that way privately, is at best going to get a moderator warning and not the way to get your message across.
I haven’t experienced any of these on Series X. Only thing I’ve experienced was some frame dropping around Hoboken on the Morristown Line but that was it.
The moderate here is confusing sometimes because I’ve seen people get in trouble for saying not swears or bad language, I think it was something like the word boring
I would doubt that the word boring would get you in trouble. The OP was referring to DTG employees. I get people can get frustrated but getting ranty and swearing is not going to get your argument across.
Bad language is not welcome in the forum and I would suggest you clean up your post before a moderator reads it. The word " lazy " has become verboten. There are many synonyms you could use instead to express your frustration.
I only bought the Rivera line on xbox series x it ran smoothly for me the odd tiny stutter but nothing major they've done a great job with the route imo
Actually I am very much in agreement with the OP and he has every right to be frustrated, DTG have become lazy, yeah a long time ago they began this venture into train sim with a passion, unfortunately now they just look for the money, he's absolutely right about the quality especially on Xbox, audio issues, blurry textures, and lots of other bugs still have not been fixed As a series x user myself and whom has bought almost all the dlc for train sim world, I now say enough is enough, DTG you haven't even tried to fix these persistent problems that have plagued many earlier versions of TSW, and to bring out a new version with a big fat number 6 slapped on it still with age old bugs and problems is a joke. And I'll be frank, to all of you who will come along and defend DTG, you are also the problem, you allow this to happen time after time brush it under the carpet with the usual they are going to fix it or it's OK on my pc or some other utter nonsense is why these constant issues are never dealt with. Because your feeding their greed, they ain't bothered as they are still getting paid Gone is the passion of trains and making it the best it can be Replaced by a rushed unfinished product that still has serious problems.
Hi Lonnie. We are continuing to work on fixes, logging player feedback and prioritising that feedback as best we can. While I understand you're frustration, one thing that can help us help us help you is to list the issues you're having, including where and what loco (if the issue involves a loco). We want to hear all feedback, whether constructive or positive, as it helps us improve the bits people don't like and keep the bits people do. We just ask that you do so in a civil way.
Don’t worry you may come back. They always come back. TSW can be additive to your immune system. Don’t worry the return of yourself back to TSW is very normal. Yes sometimes it can piss someone off. But it ok it will be ok. It still fun. You just have to use your imagination sometimes. That a must. Specially dealing with DTG. But ok you are free to go and return when you feel to buddie.
I managed 8 months without TSW but the TSW6 reveal drew me back in, I was not so firm that I couldn't be seduced! For me TSW is the best simulator, it just doesn't have enough variety as far as I'm concerned.
I've reported issues multiple times and asked questions in streams and Q&A threads and had no answers. It does seem a bit selective which feedback DTG want to hear. I'll try again here for a laugh. Is screen mode (released in an update on 26th September 2024) going to be patched to work correctly on consoles? Thanks
I don't see DTG as lazy at all. There are good souls at DTG, who really want the best for the game, then there are others that don't necessarily share that view. If that makes sense. I think they genuinely try to fix things, its just the poor management, QA and deadlines that let the whole thing down.
Well to be fair (minus the language) the OP has a point. All this talk of core and audio fixes, I just don’t see it. Draw and shadow distance on Xbox SX is still massively immersion breaking at times. This and other issues have been known and acknowledged for years now. Apart from the decent platform/ onboard announcements (not random train faults as that seems to be ironically faulty) TSW6 just feels like a copy and paste of TSW 5 apart from the use of the colour yellow - which also makes no sense. I’d prefer it if rather than adding shiny new features to the game for each release, DTG just put their energy into trying to perfect what they already have and make sure the game runs well on all platforms.
Unfortunately, sometimes the update is that there is no update as of right now. However, we have been logging your feedback and making sure to prioritise it. If you don't see a fix in something you reported as an issue, that could be due to multiple reasons. Sometimes that depends on 'is 1 person having this issue and we're unable to replicate it' or sometimes it can just be proving challenging to fix. Constructive, detailed feedback helps us significantly, so we do appreciate it. If you can give further details on the screen mode issue, I can at least check on it with dev. But I can't promise that there will be an update.
That’s a console problem though. While the Series X is powerful for a console, it’s still not a PC and the shared memory is one of the many things that hold it back. There are similar problems for MS Flight Simulator where when run on XBox where due to the memory issues, the details around draw distance and LOD as a whole are nowhere near as crisp as a high end PC. I have a Series X as well and while I have access to occasionally play on a high end PC, I’ve just come to accept that until a new console generation is out, this is just what the max is for the Series X/PS5 and if I want improvement, I’ll have to get my own high end PC.
To be fair the Screen Mode thing has been borked for a long time. DTG made a feature specifically to resolve a console issue & didn’t even check it worked on console. It’s not hard to see why these sorts of threads & attitudes come along, some of the issues are just ridiculous.
I think it would also help if we got some sort of feedback in the dedicated threads that DTG set up themselves - numerous issues whether the overhanging trees and lack of reverb on Riviera to the emergency brake issue on the Voyager which Matt himself experienced. Rinse and repeat for the rest of the new content and indeed core. A summary and sticky at the top of each thread, compiled and updated by the CM's would go a long way to assuaging concerns that TSW6 and its new content are once again not throwaway items already on the road to abandonment as the next batch of new DLC draws closer.
I agree to some extent and have been tempted to get a decent PC myself. The thing is though PS5 doesn’t have the same draw distance issues. It was acknowledged some time ago by DTG that SX had this problem due to the of limitations to the Series S but it was looking to find a fix as SX is powerful enough to not have this issue. This was years ago though and nothing improved.
I could be wrong but I thought the PS5 has similar draw distance issues, but the random blocky textures and flickering was because of the S. Although it does seem like some of the newer lines work better on X than S (I also own an S as well so I’ve seen the nonsense for both TSW and MSFS and now solely play them on X). Either way if that’s the case, it would be nice to see them get some push. I also wish that all games now would be solely made for Gen 9 consoles so the Gen 8 consoles stop holding them back. This isn’t for just DTG, but so many games are still developed for both Gen 8/9 and we’re 5 years in on the Gen 9 consoles already. I get why as it would lose out on the sales for the people that haven’t jumped yet though.
DTG Harry, l have a couple of points, playing on Xbox PC, it takes ages and quite a few clicks on esc or 9 to get back after viewing the map. Never had this problem before! l was installing the update early this morning and had to pause it and log out due to going out. When l returned it went straight into the game and hasn’t finished the update which had about 5gb left! l really wish DTG would concentrate on one release and get it free of bugs. Bringing out a separate annual release just makes more work for you all, fixing the bugs and problems a new release brings. Seems sensible to me that DTG should follow their practice for TSC.
Hi there. I'll log the new map issue. However, Xbox PC (as an Xbox PC player myself for various titles) having slow updates or updates that fail is a commonly experienced issue that we aren't able to control.
It probably won't be a comment that's much appreciated, but I'll say it anyway. If you're serious about gaming get a PC.
if I understand the OP right, he turned into a pottymouth because he wants next gen performance on an obsolete console, and is angry that isnt happening?
l have PC and an Xbox and have all the content on both. I find the Xbox better in my experiences and get more faults on the PC since TSW2020
Other than frustrated language I can't see how anyone could knock the OP posting. It is a joke that so many bugs just get ignored and carry from one release to another. Not sure you do understand the frustration DTG Harry, or what the point of reporting any bugs is. As I've mentioned in other posts, I've discovered already 2 bugs in TSW6 that have been present from 4 & 5.... and have been mentioned and reported previously... and guess what... They are STILL THERE! I think it's completely reasonable for people to really get hacked off at this point from the lack of common decency and professionalism shown by DTG towards the consumer. DTG have absolutely no comeback or justification why this is the case, other than greed / complacency.
I bet we would have a fix for the blurry textures quick if every employee at DTG were forced to play and stream only on Series X for an entire month. And not a Dev kit but an off the shelf Series X with all content installed.
and afaik dev-kits (ps and xbox) are more powerful than the normal "end-user" consoles which obviously biases testing towards bug fixing
. I quite agree with you look at the problems tsw5 brought up. I can't play tsw5 on my ps5 due to corrupted files so I deleted and put tsw4 back in there is no issues with tsw4 it plays smooth and the graphics look far better than tsw5. I asked a question for my grandson if I bought him the new tsw6 could he transfer tsw4 into tsw6 and by pass tsw5. Nobody from dtg as got back to me over this question. My grandson told me last night that I should keep my money and not waste it on a micky mouse company it his is birthday today so I bought him the Xbox series x console. He told me that he will never play tsw ever again. I keep thinking that if our faces doesn't fit in the dtg forum then we will not get the help we need it is only for the select few who gets the help. We get pushed to one side.
I stopped playing Trainz for TSW. My last purchase was Trainz 19, but l don’t think there were many issues with Trainz on the PC, and feel that DTG have far more bugs and updates than Trainz. Perhaps current Trainz players can inform us, but with DTG it seems that there is a bug and an update occurring on a regular basis. I don’t see the need of DTG developing a new edition every year, if it’s to make more money, then surely an annual pack at the same release price would suffice for a game that runs smoothly, rather than a new game which has all the problems carried forward from the last edition, would be more sensible. DTG, seem to me, to be creating more work for themselves sorting out bugs and fixes continually, when this work could be used for creating more content and more money for DTG. l am sure that the horrendous job of re-installing all the vast amount of content we all own into a new edition is unsettling for the game and it’s players. I cannot remember having to do this with TSW2 Rush Hour and the transition of this upgrade was smoother as we didn’t have to transfer all our content over to it. Sorry for this to be a bit of a rant, but DTG must now find a solution to this problem, which happens with every new release and annoys a lot of loyal players!!! The good news for Xbox players, Trainz is coming this month!
I agree with you, the fact they release a completely new game yearly is absurd, it would be much more appreciated if , instead of making a completely new game with the same bugs and poor performance as the last one, just simply give the existing game a large update which surely makes more sense and would be a much more popular choice with the community instead of having to spend the next few hours or even days re downloading all your existing collection
Exactly. Sometimes I wonder how this game possibly even gets released considering the state most of it is in especially on specific consoles. I understand it's not easy creating this stuff but it really does confuse me as to how it ends up in the state it is. Especially since tsw5 it's seemed particularly bad in places, constantly causing crashes on my xbox. On a positive note though I've seen way less of those crashes in tsw6
Even if you’re done with DTG. DTG gonna keep doing what they do. Do not waste your time. This is just business. You clearly can’t stop them from doing what they wanna do. Even if they don’t pay much attention on what you have to say they could careless. It about there company your money to keep doing what they do best. To keep the business a float and hoping they can get there you know together. But don’t hold your breath.
The amount of bugs that just seem to be ignored is crazy, especially considering the prices we pay for this stuff. Most routes are £30 or more, and you'd think that for that price we wouldn't have the same bugs and issues that we've had for multiple years now and that nothing seems to have been done yet they just get pushed aside when mentioned or they say they're looking into it but there's no news for the next few months at least. Very poor customer service if you ask me
I didn't say I wanted "next gen" performance i was trying to say I'm fed up of the poor performance I get, I know Series S isn't as powerful as other consoles but it is still a 9th gen console as far as I know
