I love how they even look like they have expressions. The one train is "looking" at the other and first is looking up in exasperation.
Reminds me of Bill and Ben from Thomas & Friends, the episode One Good Turn (think that's the name) where they did exactly this.
A little while ago most Hitachi trains in the UK were withdrawn, as their bodyshells were starting to crack. It was a massive issue for a few months, which even meant some HSTs returned to service and trains from operators had to be put on services they really weren't mean for (like 387s to Cardiff).
Ah, gotcha. Makes more sense now =-) HST sounds like the B-52 of trains. Keeps outliving its replacements.
They're pretty much all gone now. The issue was the supplier of the steel, which to my knowledge was below the standard Hitachi had ordered. This seems to have been fixed with the later AT300s, which are much better than the DFT-specced ones.
No, LNER were affected badly as well. I think GWR were the worst affected as their AT300s were older though. All Hitachi trains in the UK were checked for cracks at the time, even 395s I believe.
One of the withdrawn Class 483s was briefly listed on Ebay before being removed. I can’t remember the price, but it was collection only.

Not exactly a train but whatever, thought I'd share it anyway, because it's hilarious. Was the last day of term today, and the end of my first term studying Level 3 Travel and Tourism, and I thought I'd dress up in my Halloween costume early, on the bus. An Inflatable Dinosaur Suit, although the entire thing couldnt fit in the bus. Definitely not your average stagecoach bus ride Enjoy the photos my mates took!
That bus that looks off with the fabric seats instead of leather. My local depot got three of those about a decade ago to replace some really old ones with bench seats still in them, used to only ever serve my village's routes. Barely ever see 'em now... Plus nowadays they don't even get new buses, they get other depots hand-me-downs
Stagecoach have been (very) slowly refurbishing their buses, but from my experience it's a very mixed bag. The refurbishment pretty much only consists of a replacement of the moquette for cheap fake leather that wears a lot faster than the moquette. And the refurbishment isn't consistent either, since plenty of their buses have a mix of the moquette and leather, even on the two parts of the same seat.
They've also been replacing the livery with a sort of navy blue livery. Seems only a couple of years ago they changed their livery but anyway. I'd honestly rather they invested in making their fares actually fair and not a total scam (outside of the £3 cap anyway)
