Hey guys, I'm on PS5 with TSW6 Deluxe. So far, I have TSW5 with almost all the DLC! Since DLC management always confuses me a bit, I'd like to ask a question. Does it make sense to keep TSW5 because of Peninsula/Coltrain? Should I also keep Dresden-Riesa and LIRR to potentially retain services, scenarios, etc.? Or is everything included in the new versions od these routes? Furthermore, I still have PS4 content. Can I delete it without worry, or does it somehow count towards TSW5 or even TSW6? I'm just not sure right now... Have you all a wonderfull day
You can delete the PS4 version and you can also delete TSW5 once you've fully downloaded the add-ons on TSW6, don't worry! All the content remains there: Nahverkehr Dresden and LIRR are still available in TSW6 as always if you have them installed and Peninsula Corridor is coming (according to DTG) in at most a month: Branded if you had already bought it previously, unbranded if you hadn't.
No, it'll be unbranded either way. The only way to play Peninsular Corridor with Caltrain branding is to do so in tsw5 or earlier
Pretty sure Dovetail said it would be branded if you owned it previously already. But, of course, I may be wrong or Dovetail may be lying! I don't know. Edit: Check my following post.
Just checked and it'll indeed be unbranded. I had read it wrong in the FAQs. That's a shame, yet another loss for Dovetail.
DTG could do something about it. By trying to reacquire the license for Caltrain. But it's clear they don't want to do that because it's a route that doesn't bring them money anymore so they don't care.
Hello there, Unfortunately, it's not that simple. The licensor will always have the final say in a matter like this. Being too pushy or demanding will only burn bridges, and nobody wants that. Please rest assured that obtaining and maintaining a license is always our goal, but ultimately, it is out of our control. All the best, Jan
I never said that. I simply said you could at least try to talk to Caltrain to reacquire the license. I'm not saying you should be pushy, demanding or anything like that. I'm just saying, you should start talking to Caltrain to see if you can reacquire the license. If they say no that's okay, but it's clear that for now you haven't tried that nor are you going to ever try that. Because older DLCs are always being left to rot.
Okay, I figured I wouldn't really need those two anymore. Otherwise, I would have left them with TSW5. It's also okay with me if the Peninsula fleet is unbranded. Everything else is more important to me. But I could leave this with TSW5, too. Thanks for your answers!
You completely ignored what he said. He said it is up to the licensor and that they have the final say. If they say no and don't want to renew the license, dtg are forced to respect that. If they push, that will burn bridges. You are also just jumping to the conclusion that dtg are lazy which only lowers your credibility and respect. Also how are you so certain that dtg are not having any discussions.
He made the assumption first so I'm just making one myself to be even. No need to be aggressive, I understand the situation and I know DTG are doing "their best".
