Dear Dovetail, Okay, so we’re around several games in, and the Sand Patch Grade route and its locomotives have issues that are still yet to be recognized and worked on. So here are the issues and maybe potential tweaks and improvements that follow: 1. The AC44CW Problem: • Ditch Lights no longer “flash” when pressing the horn • The bell does not activate when pressing the horn • There is no way to turn on any safety devices • The above issues also applies to any other AC44CW used in other routes 2. SD40-2 Missing In Action: Since the release of Train Sim World 6, the SD40-2 has since disappeared from the scenario and timetable section of Sand Patch Grade. I am not sure if the same happened to any other SD40-2 used in other routes. 3. The Recycled Horn Issue (A BIG One): Since this route came out, we all have noticed one problem: the locomotives in Sand Patch Grade have used the same horn, a horn that sounds like it was made with an electric keyboard from Walmart. As we all know that these locos (and the copies used in other routes) have different sounding horns. WE NEED DIVERSITY. I know when I watched the C40-8W stream on YouTube, COVID prevented any access to American train horns. Dovetail, it’s 2025, and Covid no longer prohibits any access to train horns in the US. Then again, I might be wrong, but this is an issue. The same issue also applies to engine sounds between AC44CW and the C40-8W. 4. The C40-8W Issue: The C40-8W has some issues that also follow: • As much as I love playing NASCAR with the C40-8W around the Training Centre, the C40-8W does not need to have a top speed of 128mph. It should only have the same as the AC44CW (77mph). The same goes for the other locos and their other route variants. • The C40-8W in real life used by CSX, had some locos rebuilt and painted in YN3 colors, which should be an option like the other locos in this route. • As a personal preference, I’d like to see a clean variant of the C40-8W. • When exiting the engineer’s seat to turn on cab lights, I should not be ejected from the train. Especially when I’m going 30-40mph and I can’t catch up to the train. I guess as a temporary fix, just make sure the safety devices and warnings are on. •Spotter circuit does not work. 5. The SD40-S (?) For starters, I am not really sure what the little “s” means in the name of the loco used in the New Journeys DLC even though I know it’s an SD40, but here are the issues that follow: • The horn cuts out when pressing the horn button and stays like this for the remainder of the time using the loco. This is also the only loco in this route that doesn’t recycle horn and engine sounds. • The lights do not work when turned on. • Would definitely recommend some more livery variants. Other than that, I have no more complaints about this. I really do enjoy the game and this route mostly. If anyone has anything to add, feel free to share. Thank you, A Random TSW Player

They need to update the sounds on some of these American locos. Both the AC44 & Dash 8 sound like vacuums & it’s highly disappointing. Also, with some routes, if you don’t turn on its Gen field & it’s trailing, your train will not move. As much of a new game it is, DTG still hasn’t ironed out the bugs.
They should have stuck to one game and just updated it. No sense and releasing a new game the same as the previous but with different menu colors and MAYBE a couple new features.
S stands for Stealth, the name of the paintscheme that is applied to the SD40 that came with the New Journeys DLC.
