So where is it on this route the trains collide because I have been playing since day one and not come across this.
It's at Slade Lane Junction where the Styal line branches off from the main, the fast and slow lines cross over at the same spot and if something happens to be on them as you pass then they collide.
PC Steam TSW6 Service 1U92: Blackpool North to Manchester Airport Approaching Heald Green and signal was showing red, however, yellow on the map. Also, the next signal showed red with the route feather, however, this was also yellow when checking the map.
Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but was surprised to find the Voyager was included in the timetable right from the off when playing through TSW 6 and even has announcements. Just a short Piccadilly to Stockport run, but hey everything is a short run on this route.
I've read this wasn't meant to be released yet and somehow has ended up in the TSW6 version of the route, it seems to be just a few depot moves early morning and then a few services between 7 and 8am then nothing. Guessing when we get the official update for the timetable it'll actually be for all day. Also noticed, which I am sure were not there before, there are also 2 new layers below the Voyager layer for Northern 156 and Northern 156/158 Combo, both subbed by the Skyhook Scotrail 158 presently. But I don't think there are any new 158 services showing in the timetable.
I came to report this exact same issue. I'm guessing its still not fixed? It's not like there's anything you can do to stop it happening because as soon as you click start, the train just derails instantly by itself and its obviously game over.
This is criticism of the core I know but optimisation on this route is dreadful compared to its number of services. 323 services in timetable mode seem to crash 50% of the time on the way out of Manchester down the mainline regardless of weather etc I probably need to remove some layers but I am on PS5
Couple things to note; I assume this is due to the feature not being properly implemented yet, a la the Voyager, but 323 announcements are a bit weird. The voice that says the station names after "the next station is" seems to be different, which sounds kind of weird. It also says "this is a gr-northern service to..." as if it's about Great Western Railway but then cuts itself off to (correctly) say Northern. I will point out that Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly don't have the weird voice change to say the station name, though. Running service 2A99 it gives you 10 minutes to get from Manchester Airport to Styal, which is way too long and I ended up getting there like 6 minutes early. (unless if the irl timetable is like this in which case ignore this point)
I'm not entirely certain that it was the 323, perhaps it was, however it had auto PA's just like you describe with the station names being in a similar but not quite the same voice due to the way they had all been recorded. The 195s for example were odd in a similar way, "Wigan North Western" was said at a much louder volume than all of the other stations, this was ideal for me when the Airport-Barrow services ran via Wigan as I'd naturally fall asleep on my way home from work and the shouting of Wigan would wake me up in time
I’m very happy to hear that train and station announcements are coming to this route. ATS kept that one quiet.
Even though it's just the next station announcement followed by a safety one, I'm enjoying having them on the 323s. Having played MAC a fair bit since TSW6 come out - given this arrived without fanfare and the bit-part Voyager timetable - which doesn't work too well with the queuing in one service and missing train in another - it was definitely released before being finished. But when done, it will add another level to this route. Just wish it was longer as I'm running out of services to play! (Few more Voyager runs will delay that.)
Is it me? But it seems that a lot of junctions have to smal radius almost like a modeltrain layout. When driving a 390 from the depot to Manchester it looks very silly when entering the mainline, how sharp the junctions are.
They’re not meant to be out on anything yet, Xbox seems to continually get the wrong version of everything.
There's a texture bug on this route which I've only seen since the release of TSW6 where the front of trains don't load properly until you are closer. This happens to both the train you are driving and also ai trains as they pass and its really jarring. Its really hard to explain so I'll provide a picture (I'm On PS5) Hopefully this can be fixed ASAP is its ruining the experience of what is otherwise a great route
It was mentioned in the roadmap stream that MAC is getting an update and it seems that TSW6 shipped with what appears to be a "beta" version of it and we shouldn't actually have it. So some of these bugs probably aren't and are just things that are being worked on that we shouldn't have yet. The Voyager timetable is clearly incomplete. Announcements don't seem quite right. It looks like they've taken feedback to implement approach control on the Manchester side of the Airport junction, but haven't completed work on it - signals show red on the route, but yellow on the hud. There are also 2 new layers labelled as Class 156 and Class 156+158 Combo that weren't there before, so possibly getting more traffic using the subbed in Scotrail 158 as well. Hopefully we'll get more soon on this as I still like this route a lot.
I have to say, I do this enjoy route, a very well made route. Yes had some issues but ATS have rectified it and fixed those issues. My only problem is the 'Missing piece of the Puzzle' Which is the Alderley Edge to Crewe Section. 17 miles to build. Now I am no developer so won't say it is easy or hard as I am not qualified to do so. But how easy/hard would it be for them to do 17 miles? I find it such a shame. Especially with the Route hopping we could of done Manchester Piccadilly to Birmingham New Street when AAS Release there route. Shame for no planned extension from ATS but ofc they lost majority of there route builders.
The hard part is done (Crewe Station). I’m pretty sure AAS would share their work with ATS. So if ATS won’t build the remaining section, than who? Personally I’d like Rivet to play that role as a supporting route builder. Currently Rivet seem to float about from project to project filling in for the middle man. This is a perfect task for them.
Voyager Service 1M45 BTM - MP, spawns you on foot at a random location instead of Stockport. Series x
DTG Harry just noticed at Manchester piccadily, the announcements all mention their destinations as manchester piccadily, not the destinations they are departing to i.e. Bristol temple meads or london euston.
The approach control signals going towards the Airport (as reported above by others) from Manchester are showing red aspects on the signals but yellow on the hud / map. Seems that wasn't fixed or picked up before this update was officially released.
Appears the voyager services are broken on PS5. Spawned on the concourse outside the station or an empty platform for these.
No station anoncements totally dead. Only on the train. Poor stuttering around Manchester Station and on route it was fine before update what has happened.
Same on Steam for all northbound services. Then if I spawned on foot and took over the train it seems the DSD triggers continuously.
Can confirm this on a service I just ran, I thought that’s what the update was for, which was a shame! Hopefully make it into the next one! That’s only something that’s started happening recently. There was always the issue coming from Styal to Manchester Airport at Heald Green South Junction with the red aspect and feather, I assume it’s this that’s been fixed?
Yep, I had this also, MP288 is red, should be a single flashing yellow (but shows yellow on map). Looks like they tried to implement app control with this junction (didn't have it before) but for some reason it's now broken. Hopefully can be resolved.
Can confirm in the opposite direction running service 2H37, flashing aspects on the approach to Heald Green South Junction, however MP283 still has a red aspect with a feather that then steps up to a green.
Had a bit of fun voyager hopping. Took over the 9.0x off Piccadilly. When I got to Stockport, I had enough time to change platforms and take over a service to Piccadilly. And when I got back to Manchester, crossed platforms and 3 minutes later took over another Southbound service. 30-35 minutes well spent. The reason I did this as it was the only way I could drive a Piccadilly-bound service. Every time I tried to take over one starting at Stockport, it was randomly spawning me all over the map. I hope ATS already aware of this and trying to fix. Sadly, also still a missing PIS screen at Wilmslow, I was so hopping they had sneaked that in.
Got dumped at Gatley when trying to do a Stockport to Piccadilly Voyager service. Was able to fast travel to Stockport and take over at least, and completed it with no blurry textures.
Seeing the same. It’s services to Manchester that are broken. You are spawned at a random place on the map. When you select Southbound services from Manchester it works fine .
PS5 What do you think of the repair at Slade Line Junction? It's probably better than when two oncoming trains collided there because of the clearance profile, but I almost ran off the tracks with the Pendolino there because the curve of the track is probably too sharp for 70 mph there
Did a southbound Voyager service last night - spawned in the train, which was nice, but blurred textures hit by the time I reached Stockport. First time I’ve had the issue on this route (Xbox Series X).
PS5 On the way from Manchester to the airport before the turn to the airport there are signals MP288 and MP286, on the track monitor both were yellow but in reality the signals were red which I was allowed to pass....this must be a mistake or not? MP286 had a red signal and above it a white diagonal line showing the direction of the turn, then it changed to green on approach and on the signal the red changed to green. It looks as if a red signal was also defined for the yellow signal
