Hmm not sure about this. But I do wonder if Mount Everest has any rail system. Not saying if it be wise to go flight level 29000 feet in attitude. But we all know what the Himalayas can bring in the surrounding areas. But anyway where is the closet railway system in the varsity of the himalayas. It would look extremely spectacular to see the high raises of such mountain from a far. Actually India would be your best bet. But not so sure the distance from end to end. Don’t take my word for it. And I’m not gonna say make a Mount Everest route or else DTG would have to fly out and actually do their homework in that region. Nuh Nuh Nuh this is not wishing thinking this is just a simple awwwwwwwwwww moment on how it would look like in TSW. Come on guys not actually planting tracks in Mount Everest. But just having a sort of background image of that beautiful scenery. Well the gradients would be like jack in the bean stalk. Going down would be a roller coasters ride. Well anyway just saying. Well who know TSW 10 might have it. Oh the temp -0 and up. Could put a complete stop on the engine. Well anyway I guess that an Christmas package.Yeah I know this is insane. Probably have to use your imagination with this one. Just like DTG says to long didn’t read summery.

I think Nepal has next to no railway. Besides I don’t think any game could do the mountains justice, far too large.

Kinda thought that would be the case. No railway but dangerous.

Years ago I made a route running from Base camp to the summit as a fun little challenge route for TSC. I think it's still on the steam workshop. 1 in 15 gradient most of the way (1 in 10 near the summit) and plenty of spirals to get enough altitude, iirc it was roughly a 30 mile run.

Even getting to base camp would be almost an impossibility. Out of curiosity in Trainz I once did a terrain extraction in Transdem from the nearest sizeable habitation and it would have required a constant gradient of around 1 in 10, or virtually constant spiralling and looping to gain height.

I feel like if you are gonna build a railway that high up, a Cog Railway is the only way to do such a thing, like the one on Mt Washington in New Hampshire, USA, but thats only about 6,000ft (1900m)

The other issue going up Everest or at least to Base Camp would be lack of oxygen. When the Chinese built their railway out to Lhasa in Tibet they had to use pressurised coaches with supplementary oxygen for the passengers and specially aspirated diesel locos for traction. And that’s nowhere near the altitude approaching Everest.

Snowdon route anyone? Would be a nice change of pace. I loved the old Maerdy route on TSC. I guess it would need steam physics fixing though.
