Really…..even more….beeping steam sales, like we only got like 10 DLCs on sale and 90% of them were stuff that’s went on sale already this year ….
“NOTE: Some changes may not be on preview stream however these changes should make release or a post-release patch.” This has to stop. Every single content release lately comes with this caveat, followed by a patch that breaks more than it fixes or no patch at all. TSW is currently releasing close to £300 of content per year, there is no excuse for the desperate need for fast cash from you. I’ve been pretty defensive of this route announcement in the discussion threads but I’m not going to support TSW with this development ‘method’.
How can things that aren't included in the livestream be included in the release? That's not possible! DTG itself knows that it has to provide the versions that will be available for purchase to the various platforms two or three weeks in advance. So DTG, just leave out statements like that in future. It's better for you.
Livestream should be with the release version, simple as that. If the route is releasing a week today it ought to be at Gold by this point!
I really don't think console certification takes that long these days but the overall sentiment is still valid. They're pushing the releases out a little too quickly it seems. That being said i'm looking forward to buying it. Day 1 if there's a patch that day otherwise waiting for the updated version to release.
DTG Harry all features should be available at release.Perhaps a member of your team could comment on the stream why they may not be available and why we potentially have to wait for a post release patch? If advertised features aren’t available at release, surely the morally correct thing to do would be to delay release??
quote: "NOTE: Some changes may not be on preview stream however these changes should make release or a post-release patch." Thats exact those things that I cannot hear or read anymore. What is so difficult to FINISH the stuff and THEN releasing it? And showing that version that will be released? Oh, sorry - I must correct. Lots of times we got the version to see that also was released - even if in the streams it was told to us this and that would be changed in time for the release version - and often it didn´t happen.
Somewhere in a live stream, DTG even said that they have to submit their versions to certain platforms two to three weeks in advance. So it's not just a general assumption.
Good evening folks. Just on the the improvements - these have been implemented post community feedback which was just a few days ago, hence why the improvements haven't been added to launch yet. All Aboard are working on these and are hoping to get them in quickly.
It's quite cute from DTG ...... Do you know if it was said anywhere if there will be a full timetable on PS5?
If all aboard can fix things from the replies the community posted here from a few days ago why can't dovetail do the same for their core product and routes via feedback posted on these, dovetails very own forums?
Service 5F27 with the class 350 apparently takes 5hrs and 22mins to do a Crewe CS to Crewe move? DTG Harry that's a bug that needs feeding back please.
Rush at releasing copies but never removing the bugs. So get your copy today for many can complain about the bug flow.
Yet to watch the stream but still on the fence and being the surly glass half empty type of guy I am, running the trip in fog does raise a yellow flag… have there been compromises on distant scenery to compensate for making a relatively long route? Well on the assumption they didn’t relent on a pre release purchase discount I shall wait for the Day One feedback to come in next week and make a decision accordingly.
Was that confirmed in the stream? Very poor if that’s the case. A lot of the “improvements” are really fixes that have been wrong on the 350 since TSW5 release. To have to buy another route to get things fixed is rather ridiculous. Not a slight at All Aboard at all to be clear, they’ve done the work DTG should have last year.
Watched the stream looked ok but with all the bugs in the game will give it a miss till the game is in a better state.
Yep, I think he should've toned down the fog a tad, he mentioned this in the stream. I'm not at all concerned about this, I think it was just his personal weather preference. Otherwise, best looking route I've seen so far, absolutely epic work there (but still using the old not particularly realistic speed signs!). Some of the scenes were jaw dropping tbh, especially the busy station areas. TSW gets better and better.
I couldn't see anything to worry about. Personally I wouldn't have run it in the fog as I predicted it would cause a small stir. There will be other streams of course. I personally think things are looking fairly positive for TSW at the moment not withstanding some long term issues.
You’re not paying £30 to get fixes and updates to the Class 350 that already exists, you’re getting new versions that have fixes applied to them by third party devs for their route. I don’t know if the improved versions in this route will be useable in routes where the 350 is now, so you could spend £30 and not even have access to a fixed 350 in WCML South. You’ll still be stuck with the broken one there. It’s not the first time that’s happened and DTG have even improved their own trains in later routes and the improved versions are not drivable in the old routes. DTG should still fix the original but that ship may have sailed, and they did have a couple of goes at fixing it already with limited success. If DTG make another route that uses the 350 they may fix it then.
I'll be paying £30 for a well made 53 mile route with three versions of the class 350 and several layers for existing stock. Seems the more logical way of looking at it!
Opinion, not criticism... You have to own a lot of DLC to get all the layers on routes these days. Memories of multiple page long requirements for TSC DLC come flooding back....
Yup, I have a Western but it's not the WSR version so I can't play that service on the Riviera line, why do I need to pay even more for the same loco just in Maroon? Or with this upcoming one, the need to buy the 170s when I already have 170s from the Fife Circle route? The main draw for me to TSW from TSC was the ability to use timetable services with layers and not needing an endless supply of add-ons to get a single scenario to work, we're not quite back there yet but we are getting there. I'm tempted to leave my TSW6 Steam review as saying it would be cheaper to buy a real locomotive than all the sodding DLC but having been a part owner in a real world locomotive it's not quite as expensive, yet
it IS worth pointing out that you don't NEED to buy the WSR Class 52, and that you don't really NEED the 4 services it layers into the timetable. but it is a far cry from the same loco just in maroon as you say. it has all of the TOD4 lighting and other technical stuff that was improved and updated along with the WSR remaster. this is only my opinion and of course no one elses opinion is wrong in matters of taste but it is always a nice thing to see a few extra services if you happen to also own an additional DLC. while the WSR Class 52 is a nice loco, you should (again imo) be buying it for the content it offers on its own home route or at least its layers overall and not just as "wow I need to buy a whole different DLC JUST for these Riviera services" sorry if I misread you comment and I mean no offence, its well early in AU as I write this. but at least to me I always think more layers and more included services is good as its is both always good to see older content layered and not just forgotten (RHTT layers anyone sorry)
The ship has only sailed because DTG says it has. The logical way of looking at it is that DTG is refusing to incorporate fixes.
Well yeah of course none of us "need" to buy any DLC, we could just stick with what we have but that's not really the point. I do get what you are saying though, I didn't know that the WSR52 is more updated, I just think it is rather unfair that having shelled out £15 for the Blue 52 it is an extra £12 for the WSR version, even if it's updated it is still a kick in the teeth really. Things boil down to our personal preferences though, I'd happily thrash a Wizzo on the mainline but the WSR route itself, while very nice just doesn't do anything for me, I drive IRL on a pres line and while that is fun (heck been doing that for 12 years now) I wouldn't really get much excitement of pottering around that line at 25mph in TSW either :/ You are right, more layers is good, I still think we are way off the level of TSC when it comes to dependencies and realistically we have all the DLC that we want/need, though for a new player it would be quite a barrier to entry to get the most out of it having to shell out several hundred Pounds to get everything that's required Have a great one mate, I wish I was over there too instead of here in the cold and grey of Manchester
The 350's used in the stream are different to the WCML S 350. As far as I am aware these wont be ported back. But I havent been able to watch the whole stream as I had other important stuff todo. Hentis
For real? Isn't that literally just a matter of checking a box? Come on DTG! Same thing where you can't use the superior MAC 323's on Glossop. Really hope this isn't a matter of some inter-developer turf war brewing over TSW and just an accidental oversight. Sort it out ya'll!
Perhaps some feedback for other streams going forward, but it’d be nice to get dedicated sections to seeing every trains’ timetable. Especially on routes where 80% of the rolling stock is from layered content.
So i have to pay twice (Birm-Crewe and the 805 pack) just to get a non-borked version of the 350 i already paid once for? Classy!
They were definitely dancing around something to do with the 350’s on WCMLS last night, so we don’t know what that situation is going to be. That being said, I don’t know why they won’t just sub in anyway, even if not for AI, at least for players. If I buy a better 350, I should be able to just use it in place of a worse version.
We'll have to wait and see i guess. It's just frustrating as a player that 25 versions of the Class 66 are available on every route but i can't drive the the MAC323, GWR150, or now the B-C 350 on any route where they appear on the timetable. Much less concerned about them appearing as AI, and i get that people might not want to see the "wrong" livery somewhere- just let me drive them lol
Yeah it’s really annoying & every time DTG ‘answer’ the question regarding duplicate rolling stock they seem to purposefully mis-understand the question & say it’s too much work to go back. Just do it going forward then. Even if they won’t use one base model & just update it, there is literally a system in game which allows a flag to be assigned to rolling stock to substitute it, so why is every dev just not doing it?
I couldn't agree more. I've just been able to watch the preview steam. The Devs have done a incredible job on the route.
