The Glacier Express runs approximately 181 miles (291 km) between Zermatt and St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps, traveling through 91 tunnels and over 291 bridges. The route can be traveled in either direction and includes scenic stops in locations such as Brig, Andermatt, Chur, and Filisur. Key highlights include the Oberalp Pass, the Furka Tunnel, the Rhine Gorge, and the Landwasser Viaduct. Route details Start and end points: Zermatt and St. Moritz Total distance: Approximately 181 miles (291 km) Journey highlights: Oberalp Pass: The highest point on the route at 2,033 meters (6,670 ft) Furka Tunnel: A 15.4 km (9.6 mi) long tunnel that bypasses the Furka Pass Rhine Gorge: A stunning gorge that the train passes through Landwasser Viaduct: An impressive viaduct near Filisur Intermediate stops include: Brig Andermatt Chur Filisur Samedan I'm sure it could be shortened to not make it as long as in real life, but it would be nice to have another Swiss route in the game.
Please, not another RHB route. There are so many beautiful routes with BLS or SBB. DTG should just get in touch with BLS. Since one of the new routes, I think the Czech one, is coming out without branding, it would be possible to build an SBB route without branding as well.
Yeah, I'd prefer an SBB route too and it would be fine if it had no branding. But not so long ago, SimTrain.ch released their SBB RABe 512 mod for TS Classic and it's a paid mod, so there's no way they've released it without a license.
Original suggestion as noted far too long. I wouldn't be averse to the Albula Line but it would have to be the whole shebang from Chur to St Moritz, not a half route effort like Bernina was. The BVZ would be interesting again in its entirety, but could TSW and Simugraph cope with the physics of rack railway operation? Ditto the FO section (or part thereof) but too much of that is in long base tunnels these days. For something new from Switzerland, something like the MOB from Montreux to Zweisseman would make a good choice.
It's too long but separeted formation of Routes would be better option, I also prefer the BLS idea for example the old Lötschberg line would be a very good choice. I also would like to see a very good option since Luzern is in the game, Luzern have another good line would good to be in the game, the Brünig line between Luzern and Interlaken via Meiringen, the journey time (whit the Luzern-Interlaken Express) is about less than three hours, and whit the Brünig line also would like to be the Luzern-Engelberg line.
I would be happy with any Swiss route as long as it is in the mountains. I have read that some Swiss operators have put ridiculous restrictions on licensing unfortunately, so I won't be picky, I'll be happy with anything we get if it's done well. As far as the Glacier Express is concerned I'd be happy with a section of the route. I think insisting on a whole route is unlikely to get results because either DTG don't have the will or the game engine doesn't have the capability to model longer routes. I suspect this is because of the millstone the console platform introduces. Laci#3420's suggestion of the Brünig line is great as it seems within the TSW distance constriants (whatever their cause)... I'd also love to see some of the smaller narrow guage lines modelled, such as Gornergrat Bahn, Berner Oberland Bahnen and Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Murren. The latter would introduce a great new opportunity for TSW, of adding a cable car into the journey!
The Appenzell bahn also would be a great choice with the Trogen-St. Gallen-Gais-Appenzell line, the Gais-Altstatten line and the Wasserrauen-Appenzell-Gossau line it's also have a new opportunity, the Tramtrain journey between Trogen and Appenzell because the line is goes between Trogen and St. Gallen as a train after in St. Gallen goes towards as a tram, and between St. Gallen and Appenzell goes as a train.
