I've not bought anything for TSW6 and wont be until the blurry textures are fixed, anyone who has bought this route already should be getting onto Sony/Microsoft and refunding it. They want console players money but do nothing to even test the game works on consoles.
Oxley Car Depot. 0400 and no trains stored :/ Just checked the build number this is after the update and still build number 651 :/
DTG Jamie maybe ask the team to push the patch out again as it seems players still haven't got the correct build after the update.
Just asked Microsoft for a refund keeps crashing to Home Screen stations announcements missing final stop and all of the problems other players have mentioned
Sadly knew this would happen with the consoles. Asking people to shelve out over 35 euros for another broken route. Ridiculous as usual
I was really looking forward to this route and intended buying it day one. Was watching Tintins preview stream last night and alarm bells began ringing when he said that DTG had informed ambassadors that all preview streams must be pc only! Clearly DTG knew that this route was unplayable on console, otherwise why specify pc only previews? Personally I play TSW6 on ps5 and I'm so glad I haven't wasted £30 on another bug ridden route with blurry textures that makes it practically unplayable. I'll wait for honest feedback from console players from now on before wasting my money.
I feel so old, and I hate the world we live in so much. I cannot side with any party in yet another edition of DLC Release debacle. The publisher is making mistakes they had made tens of times before now, and the "Karens" of the community are on the forum shouting and demanding things. This is the world we live in, people spend money in the morning on some unnecessary digital goods of questionable quality and utility and then they whine about it to the world. We are clearly doomed if everyting is either fueled by rage or greed. Kezz I think a statement would be in order from your team. Just to make clear the situation about console compatibility, as pretty much everyone ensured there will be no issues regarding blurring and terrible performance based on internal/external testing. And please clarify what and when will be patched as part of the release day patch did that leave development and is it already with DTG for publishing? I think its in the best intrest of AA(B)S to show honesty towards the community, as its clear that people are enraged at TSW as a whole, and a questionable first release in not a good sign for further sales for products from the same third party. I think what we see is exactly the reason why Manchester Commuter ended up being how it is, knowing that some developers worked on both, shortened and marred by controversy. There can be ambitions at a perfect route with high details and a huge variety of stock, but this is not a viable product that can be sold accross platforms. And releasing a PC only DLC would make no sense. My feelings why we have issues: - Class 350 is available in 3 versions with the route, this means it basically takes memory for each sub-variant as much as for an entirely different train. It is not just a livery/length variation. This greatly impacts console users in terms of availble graphics memory which leads to the blurriness onsetting earlier than before. - The high fidelity graphical detail, meaning OHLE, Clutter, the platform assets, eat into the budget of graphics memory again, and the whole game is so badly designed as not to have any culling of details through settings that this again contributes to a terrible experience - General issues that are related to this being the first foray of a new developer in publishing DLC with DTG. Probably there is an implicit trust in the process that they know what they are doing, but that its clear to the end-users that they are not, they are just rushing to meet release windows, and are uploading whaterver build is possible at the time. Overall at the moment DTG lost some more trust of the community, and I really doubt I will ever pick up this release unless its part of a bundle deal at a great discount. We cannot afford to pay this money for the experience we are getting. DTG knows very well what they are doing and why they are confining third parties to publish with them, which probably excludes any ambitious third party projects that would make sense to be sold directly by them or be PC only, in the style of TS Classic, where everyone takes responsibility for their product ideally from conception to publishing.
Seriously, DTG needs to get its processes in order. It is unacceptable for a company to be pushing wrong builds, onto any platform, so often. This thing just cannot happen with proper setup.
A bit strange to be calling people out for complaining when a product they've spent £30 isn't working. Yes it's a first world problem, but people still can expect it to work as advertised. Or even to work at all. And that's before even looking at value for money. However I agree with a lot of the rest you have to say.
Platform: PS5 The Class 350 tutorial is also crashing for me. What an incredible disappointment. How can the quality control be this bad in 2025? As usual, I don't want my money back; I just want the product to work. This is preventable and shouldn't be happening. Waiting for a patch. Again.
This was addressed on the preview stream. They couldn't get the reference material needed for TPWS4 on the 350s.
Did you only notice this in 2025? Quality control has been deteriorating for a long time. With the advent of mass-scale internet, people can download patches every day - it's a problem no more. Back when all major software was distributed on disk, quality control was quite good, as not everyone had the opportunity to download patches, which were released infrequently and only after good testing. DTG is a shining example of the modern approach to testing: if it works somehow then it's go to release, the rest (maybe) we'll fix later.
I think it’s more the fact that we have a build currently that presumably was never intended for us. Hooefully when we get the correct version it will be more polished…
I really shouldn't have bought this route before looking at this feedback thread as a PS5 player! I'll have to see how it is but I assume when they say there aren't any issues with blurriness/performance on consoles they mean without any layers turned on at all. So for this route we'll have to turn off all the layers except for 350s to avoid blurriness and crashes. I don't even want to comment about the releasing of wrong builds on consoles. I have no words.
Level 2 of the mastery involves doing 2 scenarios of difficulty 4 or above, but the route only has 1 scenario of difficulty 4
Missing overhead wires gcl 350 introduction on Xbox series X also miss matching number to rail vehicles
TBH, I don’t care if the build number is 650, 1140 or 790b with bells on, that’s not my problem. If the software I buy doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I’ve been out most of the day so far and was going to purchase on my return home. Fortunately, I read this first so if DTG want my money, I expect to hear that the thing works as expected first. I would be more tolerant if this sort of thing didn’t happen time after time.
PS5. Training modules. No audio for descriptions in the tutorials. Not game breaking but still there.
For Xbox can people please check they are on the right build this should be 1.1.1140.0 , how to check this is below. How to find the build number of an add-on on Xbox Go to My Games and Apps Select Train Sim World 6 Press the menu button and select manage on internal storage Select the game to view add-ons Highlight an installed add-on and press the X button to view File Info. The build number comes directly after the add-on name on the Full Name line.
The Mastery Tier 2, one of the requirements is complete two scenarios with a difficulty of 4 or above. But there's only one scenario on the DLC with a rating of 4.
Has a DTG new release ever gone smoothly? Would love to know how things like wrong builds etc get pushed out on release day. Are consoles that much of an afterthought? I thought they made up the majority of the player base and therefore you would think get some priority for optimisation? I was looking forward to get this today but think I’ll wait until there’s some updates.
They don't just owe us an apology, they owe us an explanation on top of that apology as to why they keep putting out sub-par work, shoddy content and expect everyone to be okay with it The longer they leave it as well, the more and more guilty they are that they know they messed up
We're recommending that for anyone experiencing crashing on Xbox/PlayStation, as a temporary workaround we've found that using HD resolution settings instead of 4K, and disabling layers (including Class 150/LSL static layers) can help reduce this from internal testing, whilst our team work on improvements.
I've also got the correct build as per above. Just downloaded the game, but noticed the following: Very limited scenarios, only a couple. V Poor platform announcements intermittent announcements on board the train itself, just a bit of background noise of people chatting. The announcements seem to be constantly breaking up and you cannot understand what they're saying. No passengers on the platforms No engine noise when inside the loco cab Loading passenger indicator constantly saying load passengers when was full already Limited number of trains on the main line - one of the busiest lines, so we should be passing other trains coming from the opposite direction towards us and passing slow trains on the slow lines. Not had any faults reported yes. Not sure if they are included or not. Display name on front of loco remains the same all the time and doesn't change or update. Can anyone from Dovetail or anyone here advise re update patch? Not impressed at all at present! However the graphics are good. Are we to get some more scenarios as very limited at present with just two?
Well that solves the issue. It’s only because of the layers I own that I’m interested in this route, so why should I be expected to pay for a product where the main appeal to me is being recommended to be turned off
If you're on a large 4k screen, you may as well deal with the blurry textures as the resolution will make everything extremely soft using the 'HD' setting. Jamie. The game on console clearly has a memory leak, even non coders like me see that. It's been a year since this was a problem, surely someone at DTG is capable of finding it and fixing it?
Why should they lose huge profit on the 805 because of dtg’s incompetence? If I order a burger at McDonald’s, a member of staff makes it, then the manager catapults it across to the next town, it doesn’t come out of the staff member’s paycheck. It’s the higher ups that are responsible yet again
So DTG's answer to 'helping' to fix the issue is to disable all the content you use to help advertise the product (as well as hope to sell more of the older stuff). Its also advertised as a 4k game, is it not? How funny it is to cure textures blurring is to force blurring of the whole route by dropping the resolution Its also amazing that the internal testing only is ever mentioned after and not before launch of a product and only after we start kicking off Look forward to the fixing of the 'temporary' problem, which is what exactly... TSW 8?
