Your information is not correct based on: 1: DTG does not pressure Third Parties, nor does it give them any strict release date. Internally DTG does for it's own in-house produced content. 2: All commercial schedules have some degree of revenue expectations built in. 3: Possibly, but spreading DLC out also allows players to save money to purchase. 4: As stated in (1) DTG does not pressure third parties. 5: Its a third party first release. There's bound to be learnings. DTG are guilty though of botching the correct builds (again) and consequences should follow internally.
Ahh, that old chestnut.... Send all the problems to someone else, instead of being the voice of authority and keeping players informed.....
Correct Build Numbers are these for the two platforms : Xbox is: 1.1.1140.0 PS5 is: 651 The patch on PS yesterday morning updated, but didn't change the build number. This also didn't change the blurry textures. If you are on these, you have the CORRECT builds. There are a few issues we are currently working on this including crashes and blurry textures, which we will updated when have news. There are workarounds for this currently: We're recommending that for anyone experiencing crashing on Xbox/PlayStation, as a temporary workaround, we've found that using HD resolution settings instead of 4K, and disabling layers (including Class 150/LSL static layers) can help reduce this from internal testing, whilst our team work on improvements. Known Issues : Some announcements do not mention destination names, Station announcements at Stafford can be heard from up to 2 miles away from the platform, 'Contingency Measures' scenario does not direct the player to the newspaper stand on platform 12 at the end (Preventing it being completed), 'Unit Exchange' scenario for the first change end task after departing Soho, the PBC task is not clearing up., (PS5) Class 220 layer requirements needing the Class 170 to appear Blurry Textures and Crashing
DTG Jamie will the patch release before the refund window closes? because that is what is going to affect my next move on this.
Just email them to Gemma Brown instead (Details freely available on the website https://dovetailgames.com/publishing). She's co-CEO of Dovetail Games and should be ensuring that the individuals dealing with TSW are held accountable for their actions. I fear Dovetail thrives off the CEOs not knowing just how bad the TSW team are with the community.
Thanks for the clarifications. I think with 2 of the scenarios being broken there's not enough working to justify a purchase at the moment even with controlling the layers in timetable mode, but I'll see what progress is made over the next week(s).
DTG Jamie Could you please tell us what the actual maximum services count is on the final release builds please? On the Preview Livestream Matt showed 459 This does not seem to match with what people are experiencing since release. Even TrainSimTV who I am sure has all DLC was missing services?
The Tier 2 mastery isn't completable either. One of the requirements is complete two scenarios of level four or above. The DLC only has one level four scenario.
What unlocks freight on this route? I have Euston to Milton Keynes + cargo line vol3. What other DLC is required?
It's sad that I have WCMLS, VOL 1, RHTT, SEHS, GWE, MML, ECML and more and I have no freight layers!!
I am on Xbox Series X and have gotten this error message every time I try to load Birmingham to Crewe. It simply will not load. Do we just sit tight for a fix or is there a workaround? Edit: This only occurred when trying to load the training/introduction. I have managed to load the next one, Wolverhampton Stoppers.
DTG Jamie Thank you for your update but this does not excuse the fact that it was released in the condition it was with problems that, if someone had tested this on console for but 5 minutes would have spotted. This is also far from the first time that similar problems have occurred. For example, blurry textures still occur on the otherwise excellent Mildmay line, many months after release. The sea textures at Dawlish and Paignton have not been fixed despite promises that they would be soon after release. I would really like to purchase this route but will not buy it, nor any future ones, until I can be sure that they will work as expected as I can’t be sure that they will ever be resolved. And turning off layers is not an acceptable workaround if it is an advertised feature.
This is the why I uninstalled the new DLC right after the 1st crash and got a refund from Microsoft. I bought every single DLC for TSW5 at full price. I probably would have done it for TSW6, but I have to say I'm very hesitant to do that.
Please sort the SPAD issue, it's making it unusable. I tried again to give it a go this afternoon and it just keeps on happening. Xbox PC.
Just played an extended Timetable session. Noticed: Signal on the Up slow line between Crewe and Stafford got stuck on red causing a tailback that could only be cleared by removing the train. Same happening at Smethwich Galton Bridge on the Up line map showed train "waiting dependency". Though I'm sure the delays didn't help the platform announcements at Stafford were all over the place "Train to.....if you see anything that doesn't look right.....and Birmingham". Old fashioned display on platform 4 (I think it was) at Crewe only showed arrivals for platform 1. The overbridge at Stafford had rain landing in it. Lovely route I must say. I had a fun time watching the chaos from Soho depot while a backlog of trains (caused by the two stuck signals mentioned above) took time to clear. It got very chaotic at New Street with trains on the up queuing back to Wolverhampton at one point.
Why am I getting SPAD when I have 4 green signals in front of me. Job 1L83 350/1. Getting so fed up with this kind of stuff now.
worst: i arrive in Birmingham but timetable only ends ( cannot open doors ) if AT the red signal. Everywhere on the route, 2 meters close is close enough. This is an old issue of timetables that end not at 1 meter short but require ZERO. I cannot do this physically. It is not as stupid as closing doors flipping red signals to green at station stops ( dispatch by door ) but stupid does not VIOLATE my entire timetable run, which i must work very hard at due to my physical challenges. You are so in violation of your espoused values. Shame on DTG.
9F50, went past a green signal (showing green in-game and on the HUD) but failed the service due to signal passed at danger. It was just a few miles past Wolverhampton towards Stafford, in the 110/125 stretch.
PS5 Pro If I looked carefully, all 350 versions have a problem with the pull-down windows in the cabin, the glass is shifted above the upper edge
So, so this afternoon it was "We'll release an article in an hour." and now it's tomorrow at the earliest. Does anyone have faith in DTG anymore?
Also what's with this weird timetable thing? No arrival time set, and then some weird second load passenger wait which only then triggers the signal/route ahead of you?? The route should be set as the train as moving along or even when it's stood at a platform - a guard/driver won't be closing the doors until a signal is off, so this waiting thing is weird. Even more annoying than the "closing doors triggers route set" in other routes. Routes should be set regardless of what's happening to the train's doors.
I am a newbie at TSW, did the first 3 scenarios on this route on PC, so far, zero bugs that I have seen. I like the route.
Signal BW4251 (northbound just before Cosely) - AWS magnet doesn't function for either clear or warning.
Nope. In fact even though I didn't buy Bham to Crewe I just couldn't bring myself to fire up TSW at all this evening. Sounds like whoever did the timetables didn't really understand the process involved to set up station calls (kind version, won't post the unkind one as I'd still like a forum membership in the morning).
These are likely instances of AI passing red signals elsewhere. Same problem as some other routes had. Was any part of this DLC tested I wonder?
PC player here - first service I picked was 1K40 Birmingham to Crewe in the 350-2, however it is actually a Birmingham to Wolverhampton stopper destined to terminate there and head back to brum. Edit: Theres two 1K40 Birmingham to Crewe's in the timetable - the 0738 is the incorrect one.
PS5 Pro I just took the Pendolino 9M55 service from Crewe to Birmingham and after stopping in Wolverhampton, a Service Failure appeared after a while, probably something like running a red light and we were terminated.
OldVern, yes we have seen this before when the person who set up the timetable runs forgot to check a single box, "dispatch beyond". I did a service Crewe to Birmingham, 2H65, in a 350-3. Got red at most stations, but some were legit since I was following something and could see it's yellows and red ahead of me on the HuD.
I can confirm that I had the same problem with 1L83. It happened somewhere between Crewe and Stafford, around 10 minutes into the run. That service starts at 1617 so I then tried 1V61, a Voyager, from Stafford to New Street, which starts at 1559. What happened? Signal passed at danger a couple of miles from New Street at 1627. So something, somewhere is clearly passing a signal at danger at that time and it's not happening randomly. It's a shame because it's a really good route in some areas, but it's clear that the timetable is the weak point.
I tried again, and it seems that the oncoming Pendolino, which arrives in Wolverhampton at about 3:32 PM, has a problem stopping, this time it managed to do it by a few centimeters, the tip was already over the red signal ........ I will investigate further
Further to my earlier post regarding issues that don’t get fixed, wasn’t the SPAD problem with AI trains passing red signals an issue in TSW2 Rush Hour, on Dresden Riesa if I remember correctly? Was it fixed and it came back or is it still an issue which has manifested itself due to Dresden - Riesa, and extended to Leipzig now being on many peoples TSW6 set up as a base TSW6 route?
I can't stop laughing at these two, especially the first: Guys, we really did test it and console testers reported no issues......
The Stafford announcement issue is on PC as well fwiw. I'm sure that's a pretty easy fix though. Potential memory leak issue on the 350 is gonna be tougher to fix. Honestly not sure who's to blame for that, though the fact it's a problem on WCMLS too points in a certain direction. If the original 350 was broken beyond repair, did DTG give AABS heads-up that just maybe basing a whole route around it isn't the best idea? OTOH, AABS did quite a bit of modifications and no other trains come with the route, so they have some responsibility here too imo. Lots of questions and not a word from the EP so far, which is kind of ominous, not to mention they're doing a whole article tomorrow makes it sound like it won't be fixed anytime soon. Shame too, because the parts that work are quite brilliant imo.
Steam Version Only 392 services showing playable - which is deffo not as advertised Noticeable FPS drop on 350 runs and when 350s go past Lots of AI shows as Out / Not in Service / LNR on 350s but the station PIS shows correctly This seems very intermittent - AI Pendolinos wrong pantograph up and even more intermittent 1st class at wrong end Big FPS drop at the Wolverhampton end of Smethwick Rolfe St station
