It’s not just the cost of the PC. I am in the fortunate position of (thanks to a bank loan) replacing my potato of a PC with one that is capable of running TSW6 and have obtained the free startup version to go with the Humble Bundle of a few DLC I previously purchased for TSW4. However, after years of purchasing DLC for Xbox, I will need to buy most of it all again if I want to play it on the PC (especially if I want layers). Even with there being more sales on Steam, it will still cost a fortune to buy it all.
Good News. The Xbox version is play anywhere and an Xbox player can start using a PC for no cost. The bad news is you will really start to notice the lack of sales compared to steam.
The xbox play anywhere thing is a nice bonus for former xbox players switching to PC, but not every console player is on xbox
So whats the difference between s bahn and crew and Birmingham as far as traffic and layers goes? Why is one fully on consoles and one not?
It wouldn't surprise me if DTGs solution to Crewe's performance woes is removing half the content for console players, that is afterall a much easier fix for them than optimising the game.
Nothing DTG have said here reflects well. But the key bit is regardless of what is being shown by ambassadors they must know that that builds being sent to consoles is an absolute mess. Knowingly charging £30 a pop to people for something needing drastic resolution to make it in anyway useable on the 6th iteration of a game is frankly ridiculous. I don’t aim this at the community managers who are absolutely trying their best to manage yet another car crash. But from a DTG point of view thinking this is an acceptance and sustainable business model is absolutely embarrassing. Stop pushing out products you know aren’t ready! If I continued to manage projects in the manner DTG do I’d have lost my job a long time ago.
I wouldn't be surprised If DTG used this as an excuse to have reduced...sorry I mean "standard" timetables for Consoles and still charge the same amount.
Instead of optimizing their DLC, they remove half the timetable on console, so the only people who can play the whole route as originally intended are PC players with really good PCs.
That would mean I never buy a route until it's at least half price. Frankfurt S-Bahn timetable is possible on Gen 9. But DTGs refusal to address the memory leak prevents it
