Hi Guys, I'm really enjoying this new DLS, had no crashes or seen any blurred texture so far. but would like to ask if anyone knows of any DLC Diesel Loco's I could run on this add on? I notice that most in fact all the trains allocated on it are all electric powered, but would love to give an old Diesel unit a run.

There should be a Class 220 Voyager layer but it doesn't appear as a player driveable train.

Several of the classic diesels would be at home on the route, albeit free roam or make your own scenario.
Class 40 and Class 47 being the most suitable but after the 25's went 31's could be seen on freight jobs occasionally. Class 37 at a pinch. Class 45's were fairly rare as they tended to work the NE/SW inter regional services.

One thing to bear in mind, in the BR Classic era it was frowned upon to make much use of diesel locos under the wires. The power controllers would rather put a run down Class 81 or 85 on (say) a Bournemouth to Manchester or Scotland service at New Street than allow the Class 47 to continue.

It should if you have the 170 add on for Birmingham. I believe its on the to do list for improvements to separate the layers.

Birmingham, the 170 pack and the 390 are all on sale for Steam users. I would guess to enhance the new Crewe route.

This is correct- there's iirc 63 playable Class 220 services. I can never keep track of what unlocks what but i do have the Birmingham 170 pack.

It's runs Ok have the odd little stutter but nothing to worry about, had the issues of the loading of passengers repeating it's self once I closed the doors, but got round that be leaving the doors open for a couple of seconds longer to let it do it's double act.

So we can run whatever diesel loco we want to but only in free roam?
I remeber going to Birminham New Street from Weston-super-Mare back in 1984/4.I was fascinated by the electric trains at BNS,a daft thing to say i know, but such a different noise compared to the diesel locos.

If you use free roam in timetable mode you can spawn a loco of your choice and there will be a.i services operating too so it wont look empty.

47s on a set of 7 aircon Mk2s would fit the bill
