It's impossible to complete 5K86, the ECS run to Haymarket, as the train is routed into a shed at Haymarket and you can't get near it.
Understand what you're saying. However, with the original announcement being almost a year ago I think people have already been very patient.
If it helps, it has been completed, its currently with DTG for testing and release. Maybe this weeks Roadmap will tell us more.
Bold of you all to assume it's still coming. Skyhook finished it months ago. Yet despite this, DTG seem so reluctant to talk about it that I doubt even the world's most elite interrogation squad could get even a mention. And we have an add-on leaked in the "two future UK DLCs leaked" thread over in the general discussion thread that seems suspiciously like it would be for Fife Circle... Especially as we know Tyler made timetables for more routes similar to his BCC class 170 timetable. Spoiler: The leaked add on I'm talking about; Scotrail Inter7City HST Look, I'll happily eat my hat if I'm wrong, but the writing appears to be on the wall as far as the 158 timetable for Fife Circle is on the wall as far as I'm concerned... Of course not like it really matters because this new upcoming add-ons timetable will probably feature the 158 anyway
Also still waiting for rivet to port the running sounds across from BCC which were originally working on Fife, got broken in a patch but were fixed for the BCC 170 dlc back in July 2025 and was told on stream that Fife would get the update but there has been silence (just like the Fife 170 running sounds) since.
Seems Rivet puts a lot of effort into letting the customers know, that they basicly dont care after you spent your bucks. Its how it is.
Also dovetail seeing as they're the ones publishing it and getting a cut from all sales, ignored all feedback about it being broken, moved all the threads about it to the troubleshooting forum and have never bothered to acknowledge or even reply to any of the feedback. As long as they got their money from when it first released I guess they're happy. Just a pity for everyone like us who bought it and now has a broken dlc the publisher seems to have no intention of fixing or even acknowledging that something we paid them a fair amount of money for is still broken.I They are listening to feedback though.........
I am also seeing the blank entry in the "Coastal Scenes" chapter, preventing the chapter from being completed. Jasper_Rivet, can this please be patched? Thank you!
I suspect this is similar to the blanking of some Journey Mode elements on the BR 294 as well. May well be more lurking on other routes which simply haven’t been spotted yet. Sadly this has been the case for a week now with no sign of a fix. DTG should be allocating staff to go through every route in the collection and check for corrupted/blank Journey chapters - and sort the mess out (please).
Do you think Rivet Games are waiting for the HST Farewell DLC to release, so they can add a proper Inter7city HST into the new timetable alongside the class 158? Nah, me neither... just clutching at straws now tbh.
it looks like rivet are waiting until hell freezes over before they touch Fife circle again. Still waiting for them to port the running sounds and suspension across from the BCC 170. Seems dovetail are also happy selling this broken DLC on behalf of rivet and are also happy to ignore feedback about this broken clap.
Like WCL back in the day, I had such high hopes for Fife Circle. I’ve played it half a dozen times since buying it. Since then I hold back buying any new route until I’m sure I really want it.
All i know is I've posted in this thread multiple times about the once working running sounds no longer working since an update to fix scenery (even though dovetail themselves have said they test every element of a patch from a third party to make sure it doesn't break anything it seems they test nothing) All feedback about it has either been completely ignored or, if posted in the general discussion thread moved by someone at dovetail to the troubleshooting forum who haven't had the decency to even reply or acknowledge there's a problem. On the BCC 170 stream back prior to releasing on July, Tyler from rivet said the Fife circle 170 would be getting the updates to running sounds (which previously worked?) and suspension. We're now in October and no updates.
Well there’s updates on the way so maybe the updated sounds will be part of the update along with the timetable.
Sounds like the 158 timetable and 170 fixes are live! Wasn’t expecting this today, can’t wait to give them a go.
Just tried the 170 and despite this being in the patch notes It doesn't seem any different at all to me? The running sounds are still non-existent. Get up to speed and cut the throttle and the only noise is that of the engine idling and there's no sounds over points etc.
Normally I'm not one to complain about blurry textures, but with this new timetable they're very noticeable even from a distance. Also, why does the 385 not do the Glasgow services in this timetable?
Thanks for the sprinter timetable! Patch notes say that the announcements have been added to the 158, but they arent working. There is an initial announcement when loading in Welcome to this Scotrail Service to [silence], calling at [silence]. Then no announcements at all when approach or at stations.
Boards at all stations should be showing Dunfermline City and Dunfermline Queen Margaret. However, they are both simply being listed as "Dunfermline". Granted it's not a massive issue, as such, but just another example of poor quality control on behalf of the developers. Agree on earlier comments too about blurry textures, broken announcements and dreadful 170 sounds. A long wait for this, and doesn't feel massively worth it
I only had an update for the 158 pack and not Fife Circle itself (I’m on Xbox Series X), so possible the 170 updates haven’t actually shipped?
Maybe! I'm on series X too and didn't notice an update for Fife circle amongst all the updates earlier but assumed it had updated because i got the new timetable.
I think all they did was finally release the long-awaited timetable. Although so far I'm not liking it.
Pass. The release notes in announcements had a long list of changes for The 170 and assumed they meant the Fife version seeing as they've released the new timetable so thought they might have added in the fixes Tyler mentioned were coming on the BCC preview steam. Edit: just noticed it's been posted and acknowledged in this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-sim-world-6-patch-note-summary-oct-28th.94992/
Played a Evening Waverley to Leven with a 158, no passengers got off and when I got to the junction for the Leven Line the protecting signal was Green with no feather so I wasnt cautioned down to the PSR for the junction. Not very impressed at all.
Even tho you can’t drive an LNER Azuma on the route I saw one as AI pass by me near South Gyle. Just a minor thing but it was 801234 which doesn’t even exist
Personally I have the announcements of the service and the stations where the train stops but like you the announcements of approaches (or sometimes I have it but it doesn't say the station it just says "We're approaching [silence]") and the station are non-existent. And I find it a shame that in Edinburgh, on the mini map for the IA services of 390 and 801 there is no destination and their code is XXXX (literally XXXX).
The problem with the wrong signal has been an issue since the Leven Branch was released. I was hoping it might have been fixed.
Not had any blurry textures so far and just did a very enjoyable run from Leven to Edinburgh in the LRL 158. Nice to be able to drive it at last.
The route is still broken. The feathers still don't work when you depart Waverley into the Mound Tunnel on line Z. The signal at Thornton doesn't work properly an no check downs for the Leven branch, and passengers jumping off the platform at North Queensferry. I did notice a layer suggesting that an Inter7City Class 253 could be coming soon. I do wish that somebody would bother to at least try and fix the route, the way in which developers other than Rivet Games seem to.
On the contrary, didn't even get to the Forth Bridge from Waverley before I encountered blurry textures, on the ballast of all places.
If I had to guess, I’d say it was an Azuma on the ECML platforms at Waverley causing it - it’s usually the culprit and on my run in the other direction it had just left as I arrived at Waverley.
I did a 158 + 170 combo run from Leven down to Edinburgh with all (available) layers turned on and got no blurry textures at all (series s user)
I did a Leven to Edinburgh run in a 158. I forgot how nice much of the scenery is on the route and apart from a couple of stuttery areas it ran very smoothly. I also saw a class 66 hauling either a 380 or 385 out of Haymarket tunnel. The lack of announcements was a shame although I'm personally not too fussed. I do wish Rivet would sort the signalling out going onto the Leven branch but I doubt they will.
As a born and bred Fifer, for me the scenery is one of the worst things about the route. It may be slightly better than it was upon its original release but it is still mostly pretty inaccurate and in many places utterly dreadful. The buildings in and around Dunfermline, for example, are shockingly bad. Accepted, however, it's unlikely to ever be improved given who produced the route. Now, on the odd occasion I do drive the route I tend to just do it at night and at least the "scenery" doesn't spoil the experience then.
I suppose it's different when you are local. Having only visited the west side of Scotland I couldn't say whether it was accurate or not so it's easier to assume it is. I doubt the route will be touched again.
