When you hear train sim world you expect the entire world’s in it but when you download the game, clearly it’s not my question is how is flight simulator the size of the world and TSW is not they claim it’s hardware limitations but I call BS on that we send them tons of money yearly and you’re telling me they don’t have the money to buy upgrades this company has so much potential and they’re just ignoring us year after year they sucked the money out of our wallets and say here’s a new game when we all know for a fact, it’s the same game that we’ve been playing for six years just with basic updates which they glorify to be a new game, it’s pathetic , Ensure they might have a small crew, but if that’s your excuse, why not go out and look for more workers and keep in mind TSW isn’t their only game so this isn’t their only income so when I asked for train SIM world, I’m expecting the world So when next TSW comes out I DON’T WANT IT TO BE A PASTING COPY GAME. I WANT IT TO BE THE WORLD And multiplayer, But that’s another story ,being for real though Multiplayer should’ve been out since the third TSW And if you have something against it, please shut your mouth. Dovetail would find a way to make it happen Going back to what I said about TRAIN SIM WORLD All existing rails all over the world should just be in the world in flight simulator there’s multiple airports. You can pick any airport. You would like to spawn at and do whatever you gotta do TSW should be the same same same being able to spawn at stations or yards across the world with trains that you bought How would this work with multiplayer? It’s simple if you bought said train you have access to drive if other people Didn’t buy the train you’re driving they’ll still be able to see it. They just won’t be able to drive it. Yes, they’ll be able to sit in it and interact, but this would also give people reasons to buy trains that they like and It will make The world feel more alive Being able to mix with actual people in AI might be a nightmare, but it is possible now you might ask, how would this even be possible? The way flights simulator does the world is basically Google Earth, but 3-D If I could throw a suggestion I would suggest flight simulator and train simulator, world, merge But realistically, that would probably never happen, but never say never it is possible Dovetail does have the money to do it and it’s not impossible thank you.
If this is not possible, at least have different sections for Countries, such as America, United Kingdom and Germany The more route’s you purchase The more tracks will Appear in said country / (Multiplayer) In multiplayer, you would see players along the map Doing their routes Now some might say this Sounds too big, but that’s where you be wrong, Rockstargames Has plans for Gta 6 For section online zones meaning different parts of the map are in the game, but not loaded in same with the players You would be able to see the map, but in very low quality But the good news is, it would be very very far out to where you won’t be able to see it Unless you have mods or something So let’s say you’re going down from New York to Miami once you reach providence New York will start to delete itself and will chase you with the speed you do , Basically, you’re in a giant circle that loads where you go Now, how does this work with multiplayer? Not everyone’s screen will be Seeing the same thing So let’s say you have a player that’s in Miami trying to go to Boston, he passes the player somewhere in Washington heading to Miami That player heading to Boston will see the other player that player will see him. They can interact with each other, but it is limited. If they’re in a service they won’t be able to drive each other’s train for obvious reasons But if it is like a free room event, they would, but up to the ability if they have purchased The same trains Now going back They each have their own little load in circle for now. I’m just gonna call it. LIC Each player has their own LIC Other players will not be affected by an LIC but their own By doing this players will be able To explore the entire world, but please take notes from flight simulator. I understand I might have not been the best of explaining this, but at the same time, I’m trying my best
sir, I think you may have had a bit too many drinks down at the pub. Or bar, or whatever Americans call it.
You can say what you like, but in reality he's absolutely right! It's an excellent initiative to follow the example of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and even if it's complex, no one would say no to this idea.
And MrSouthernDriver is correct. The OP is ranting. Drunken or not I don't know. Nowhere in there was there a specific suggestion for DTG to work on. Just a lot of ranting.
The only remote "suggestion" would be to limit purchases of DLC to "unlocking" trains in game. The multiplayer thing they don't want to do so it's a non-starter. So if OP wants to be heard, Louie could just focus on that first idea and flesh it out more. How does it exactly work? Give examples in other games if you can. What are the pros and cons?
Here's the issue. Microsoft flight simulator has access to one of the biggest tech companies and all the technology they have. They don't just have it just because. There's entire servers and ai and state of the art technology which is also really expensive. Also the technology has limitations. Looks great from far but low quality up close. Even with the new improvements, it is still lacking. That does not work in train sim Dtg is not that company. Dtg does not have the servers to stream the entire world. They do not have the budget. They do not have the tech Also even if they separate by region, it does not mean there will automatically be much more content.
The word "World" in the game title is there because unlike in it's predecessor Train Simulator, in Train Sim World you can get out of the drivers seat and walk around, whether it's inside the train or in a station, it's all happening in 1st person. Train Simulator only consisted of a singular fixed 1st person point (the drivers seat) and numerous 3rd person view cameras to switch through. This has been explained numerous times and should be obvious by now, especially since there are so many factors speaking against having the entire or majority of the "world" (Earth) in Train Sim World.
OP needs to learn punctuation and paragraph breaks (and the classic rule of the internet - don’t post when inebriated or stoned!). And while some might not remember it, for their second attempt at a MSTS reboot, MS did come up with the notion of a “World Of Rails” similar to Flight Simulator. However from what could be gleaned, most of it was going to amount to little more than a simple vector representation of the existence of a railway line, similar to how FS or XPlane draws them on the ground, with a few chosen areas in more detail. So basically no different to the style of presentation every other train sim has used. And in the event, whether due to specific cost overruns or MS in house decision to wind down leisure software production at that time, the whole thing was scrapped. So we never knew whether there was actually any proof of concept behind the scribbling son the whiteboard. If MS couldn’t pull it off then DTG certainly would not. They are struggling as it is now to keep their heads above water supporting the TSW core and DLC.
I'm sure it won't be long before someone makes the AI trains on msfs drive able. Theres more chance of that happening than dtg making a msfs style train sim anyway.
It has everything to do with the topic of this entire thread, and the original post to which I was responding and quoting. A plurality, indeed, probably a majority of games containing the word "world" in their title do not in fact contain a representation of the entire world within them. Thus discrediting the thesis of the original post. checks posting history of attuma#5254 - oh, right, I am mistakenly engaging with a bot that posts vacuous inane word matching responses in order to build up a posting history for when it eventually spams ads. Blocked and reported.
Here we all know the W in TSW stands for the 1st person view. And that's great, DTG has done with its game what has been done in GTA3, or Silent Hunter 5. But, first, don't forget railfans abroad (outside UK, US, and Germany). And then, with each DLC, the virtual world represented in the game expands. If DTG chose to develop TSC instead of switching to TSW, the whole UK railway network would probably be complete by now. They could have crossed the Channel then... I thought this was SimRail philosophy when there was talk of a line crossing the border from Poland to Germany. Anyway, I have a dream one day you could enter sort of a QuickDrive mode, select your train, your starting point, and your destination. No more "bus stops" services ! Caledonian Sleeper, Orient Express, Train Bleu, etc, etc... Voyageons !
I will say, one thing that really took me out of the "world" on Morristown was getting off a service to Penn at Secaucus Junction and being unable to get to the lower platforms and hop on as a passenger to a service to Hoboken even though hovering over those platforms I could see the scheduled AI departures. There are a few spots like this where that aspect of the game could use work. I like the feeling of inhabiting a realistic rail line, so it's a bummer when something gets in the way of that.
