With Morristown line just being released and the Metro-North New Haven line being added up to Stamford, it’s about time that we see updated Acela and Amfleet train sets for Amtrak. While they were solid for their time, I’d personally like to see more details added around lighting and cleaning up some of the graphics on the existing sets, similar to what was done to the Multi-Level Cars for NJT on the Morristown line (which can also be used for NEC). With the NextGen Acelia Liberty sets released this year and the Airo sets expected to come next year, I’d assume it will take time to have those available as DLC (if we even get them). But a cleaned up version of the current sets on the sim would go a long way to improving the lines that they are used on, especially since we’re going to have them available as either AI or drive mode on 5 different routes starting in 2026 for TSW. It would add so much depth and fun to the existing routes as well, especially with the Phase 7 liveries available.
The Avelia Liberty next-gen Acela sets and Amtrak Aero trains should be added to the game in the near future. The Aero trains and ALC-42Es and the Avelia Liberty trains could be added to any of the NEC routes or included in a new NEC route in the future. I still want Siemens Chargers in game. Other routes we could see with Chargers would be an Amtrak Midwest route (preferably the Metra BNSF Racetrack or maybe the Milwaukee-Chicago line), Brightline/FEC: Miami-Orlando, Florida, BNSF Stevens Pass or Marias Pass (w/ ALC-42s and the Empire Builder), BNSF Portland area/Columbia River Gorge (also w/ ALC-42s and the Empire Builder), BNSF/Seattle Sounder/Amtrak Cascades w/ SC44s and new Cascades Siemens Venture Coaches/Cab Cars, and finally the Pacific Surfliner and/or Coaster: LA-San Diego. ALC-42s could also be run on Horseshoe Curve, Cajon Pass, and Sand Patch Grade. We'd also need new passenger cars for Amtrak, PS, and Commuter lines.
Would like the Charger too as it would open up so much more for other potential rail lines. LIRR and Metro-North just got some (with more on the way) to replace the P32s and DM30s. And many other companies are using them as well.
