As one of the oldest routes in the game, I feel like there's a lot of potential here, were the route to be brought up to modern standards. A few small additions to the route would help.

    a) Leipzig Hbf main terminus, as we have the asset now. This would create huge potential for additional playable and AI services.
    b) Dessau Guterbahnhof, which, with the sidings at Leipzig-Mockau, would give us some freight runs and shunting. This is immediately north of the passenger station.
    c) branch from Leipzig MDR to Leipzig Stoetteritz, which half of the services in the city tunnel take.

Based on 2017, services in the core section (Leipzig Hbf to MDR) could be increased to the full 12tph, 2tph each on (playable section of each line shown).

    S1 Leipzig Hbf - Stoetteritz
S2 Bitterfeld - Stoetteritz (of which 1tp2h starts at Dessau)
    S3 Leipzig Hbf - Gaschwitz
    S4 Leipzig-Nord - Stoetteritz
S5/S5X Leipzig-Messe - Markkleeburg (continuing through Gaschwitz without stopping).
    S6 Leipzig-Messe - Gaschwitz

    Other playable services
S8 Dessau - Bitterfeld (1t2ph), combining with S2 for an hourly service
    RE13 Dessau - Leipzig Hbf terminus (1tph)
ICE Bitterfeld - Leipzig Hbf terminus (1tph but only a couple per day stop at Bitterfeld) - ICE1/ICE-T
IC Bitterfeld - Leipzig terminus (1tpd)
IC Dessau - Leipzig terminus (1tpd)

    AI at Bitterfeld:
    ICE running through (1tph) - ICE1/ICE3
    ICE stopping (1tp2h) - ICE1/ICE-T
S8 (2tph), of which 1tp2h is the playable service to Dessau

    AI at Dessau (all 1tph):
    RE7 (143+Dostos/Red 442)
    RB51 (Red 442)
    RB50 (642)

AI at Leipzig as per the TSW6 route.

New rolling stock could come in the form of a silver 442 with red doors

    Or the older DR Dostos

Plus, most importantly of all, an improved version of the original silver and green 442.
This would be a great route for announcements, conductor mode, and all the other improvements in TSW since.

The main thing this route would benefit from is reworking the abysmal 1442 sounds. Almost no traction or running audio in the cab makes you feel like the train is just levitating along the rails, powered by paranormal forces. DTG should have attended to that years ago!

Yeah, that and the thin timetable would be the biggest priorities.

How about this enable route hopping from RT to Dresden Leipzig.

I would also be happy about a remaster of this route, but the performance definitely needs some work. I recently drove the Ludwigsbahn: Mannheim – Kaiserslautern route in TSW6. There's no question that the route looks beautiful, but it's a bit too demanding on performance for my taste. My GPU is at 100% utilization. (Note: Normally, on other tracks, I experience GPU usage levels ranging from 54% to 80%.) even on open stretches of track, and that's despite there not being much going on... In my opinion, there are too many 3D trees used along the trackside; they should perhaps have been replaced with or supplemented by performance-friendly 2D trees, as was the case in earlier versions. The good-looking 3D trees could be placed close to the track, and then the cheaper, less detailed 2D trees could be used further away, on hills or mountains.

I like the rolling stock you've selected. The DABgbuzf 761 control car, in particular, absolutely has to be included in the game.
