Route Morristown Line New York & Hoboken - Dover - Feedback

As I say, on Morristown, you observed it with LIRR trains at Penn, I observed it with NJT trains at Hoboken.

My money is on it being more of a core issue, than just an issue with layered stock. Obviously no passenger trains should be running with all their doors open, irrespective of the operator

Can I ask a stupid question? When I switch from diesel to electric on this hybrid loco ALP45DP ...... does the diesel engine keep running or does it automatically shut down? I haven't figured it out.....maybe it works on the loco somehow, but if it's controlled via the cabcar, then probably not, or am I wrong? Thank you

The tutorial didn't help me at all and I haven't tried the screnario yet.

 

The switch to electric automatically shuts down the diesel engine.

 

You can tell it's switched off because you can no longer see the emissions from the top of the loco.

 

I just saw smoke even after switching to electric mode... but so far we have only tried it, I have not continued further....... we took another service 1002 from Dover to Denville, and there it did not want to switch to electric mode and I was driving in diesel mode and I even met an oncoming AI train from Summit in Denville and it was also driving in Diesel mode... interesting, but not impossible

 

It switches off, but it takes a while. After a minute or so you'll here some sounds and also the fans outside on the roof will be stopped

 

Yes, about two minutes after switching the system to electric, the engine turned off and the fan stopped. Thank you.

 

I think that after switching to electric mode, the turbocharger is still cooling down and the diesel engine is idling. After the temperature drops, the engine shuts down.

 

Did you fix Multilevel doors not working(only visuals works) on low platforms? - No!
Did you fix no raindrops bug on ALP-46? - No!
Did you fix FPS drops between Morris Plains and Mount Tabor? - No!
Did you implement proper brakes in Multilevel cabcar so that you can start moving uphill normally? - No!
Did you fix Incorrect display of electric motors operation when coasting? - No!
Did you added joint sounds at speed above 15 mph for both locos? - No!

here two things that might want to be fix on future patch.
1. coupler gap between alp45dp and cars.
2. glow storge rack at new york penn station

 

Can you please add on which platform you have this issues? PC/XBOX/PS/EPIC

AFAIK, just about every one of these issues has been documented multiple times across all platforms since launch.

 

Lowering your eyes a little and reading the signature is too difficult for some people. I understand (no).

There is another example of incorrectly set priority. Train 6406 should not wait for train 6612 to pass. At the very least this looks illogical and cause delay.

 

PS5. I'll add more:
the low LOD distance for PIS on the front of the Multilevel coaches- not fixed.
gravel on track and see-through ground right before the east river tunnel coming from any service from Sunnyside - not fixed
floating PIS visible when exiting Sunnyside yard - not fixed
reverb missing about halfway through the NY Penn tunnels- not fixed.
the actual east river tunnel section missing/disappears right before 15 mph speed drop at NY Penn (it loads after a sec or two)
raindrops on the multilevel cab windshield while inside the east river tunnel and the weather is set to rain (might have to go to external view first to recreate)

I think this is an issue with the loco itself, as if it's underpowered or something. I spent a lot of time on ALP46 on NY Trenton and I could start moving at 2% grade at notch 4-5 or 5-6. On the Morristown APL46 version, you pretty much have to go full power (notch 9) to get it moving at the same grade.

 

I have to give DTG credit for fixing announcements though - the announcement no longer plays before Meadows, which is correct as it’s just an employee stop.

This is bewildering to me. Nobody was asking for this and I doubt many people noticed it was missing. Meanwhile the problem where passengers won't board multilevel cars when stopped at low-level platforms remains. I would say that is a bigger problem for immersion, than a missing library. Probably the guy who adds libraries is not the same as the guy who fixes the boarding problems. So you know what? I would have just let the library go and paid the other guy instead.

So I went to Millburn to look at the wonderful library we now have while my passengers are ricocheting off the multilevel cars. There is no sign or anything to let you know it's a library, and it doesn't even look like the Millburn library, although it's in the correct location. It's hardly noticeable when sitting in the cab in any case. But looking at the bright side of things, now that the library issue has finally been addressed to the delight of all, perhaps we can get the minor issue of passengers not boarding taken care of too.

 

What stations were given “high level platforms to relevant sections of the route” according to the latest patch? Sorry, I have no knowledge of this route irl.
Also, did they fix the orange lighting that OHLE was giving off across the line? haven’t had time to check out the route..

The asset designers and the people who script the NPC behaviour are not on the same teams. Both teams are being paid anyway, because both have different jobs that are needed within the studio. Different teams will have larger or smaller workloads at different times, that's the nature of any workplace over the course of a project. They're not interchangeable and you don't just furlough one team just because there's a bit of time in which they could instead polish their work on the last project before moving on to the next.

 

Just sarcasm, not meaning to imply that anyone is supposed to be furloughed. To be sure, it is unlikely any of these people we are talking about are direct DTG employees anyway and are probably contractors, especially the asset designers.

 

I have no idea what this means either. It's also impossible to verify if these platforms are actually now in the game as they suggest, because if we don't know where they are supposed to be, how can we know if they are still missing?

 

Not only won't board, they are also won't leave the cars. And the bug is not the route related, cause I've tested on other routes, and the doors are broken on the others low platforms as well.

The Sunnyside Yard - NY Penn section needs a bit of improvement ...... there is a problem with the gravel polygons before entering the tunnel...... it is raining in the tunnel ...... after entering the tunnel the dashboard is still illuminated by daylight for quite a while, about 4000ft before NY Penn part of the tunnel does not load Overall, this section is not marked as a tunnel even on the 2D map

 

No station name in announcements on Denville track 2 in Cabcar. Instead "The next station please watch the gap"

 

Don’t know if anybody has mentioned this one but Interstate 280 near Orange has vehicles moving in the left lanes instead of being on the right side. Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m still making these reports..

 

I saw a few people report it a month ago, yet still no acknowledgement from the devs

 

6668 is broken, because of signal M80 which is forever red.

What is beeping around signal M169(Millburn)?

 

PseudoStalker You are so right on 6668. I have run this service earlier and even if you delete all the stopped trains in front, you get routed toward Hoboken instead of NYP.

 

So why DTG made such a downgrade of mini-high platforms сompared to Boston Sprinter? No passenger on those platforms, and the doors open incorrectly with the floor rising, as if the door is located on a low platform. Another lost technology of Atlantis.
Does the patent for properly functioning doors belong to MBTA?

 

X634. I can't stop at location "as indicated", because of signaling, which is, as always, pulls the emergency brakes in 150 ft before the stop point(~200 ft before the signal).
And again 19:30 is a pitch darkness in June. If you can't teach the game summer time, why just you don't shift the sunset time on an hour?

 

Yesterday I was driving on the new USA Morristown Line, and after passing the station with the same name - "Morristown"-, I was looking at the scenery.... suddenly my train crashed with another one!
What a strange situation!
Due to what happened about the signals?

I had saved the drive almost before, so I did it again, and my surprise was....
There were no red light, between my train and the one ahead!
It was a green one!

So hopes this must be fixed!

 

It works correctly for me on PS5. Maybe it was a specific service you were driving?
But overall, the latest patch seemed to fix the no station name announcements (at least for Meadows).

 

Was ATC (PTC) turned on?

 

Trains in some US routes are allowed more than 1 train in a signalling block. In these situations the cab signalling would inform the driver to limit their speed and drive by sight (usually no more than 10mph).

This is where the use of the safety systems would help you out.

 

My first run on the Harlem Line this one caught me out.

 

I’ve just gotten an out of memory crash on the Morristown Line in the approach tunnels to NY Penn on my Series X. I’ve completed over 30 total services and I’ve never had this happen to me once.

 

Right, on US lines this is the restricted signal. It means you need to be able to stop your train in half the distance you can see at any time.

 

I did not know about it!.

Morris Plains has passengers on the track on the outbound line. How on earth can this still be happening and allowed in the game?

 

You also get stuck in the cab ceiling up to your waist when you get up from your seat in the ALP-46, don't you?
