Just a quickie to wish JetWash , Fawx , bescot , SprattyHeath and Charlie luck with their new venture and products. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has been impressed by the creations of these nice people in recent years Shame they couldn't recruit Summer Glau though
Pretty much a dream team of modders, I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with, good luck guys!
Great to see that announcement. I'm sure what they produce will be excellent as their freeware contributions have been. I'll look forward to what is to come.
Possibly the most surprising and welcome item in the Roadmap article. Your mods and EPs have boosted my TSW experience no end, and as I've just posted in the Roadmap article, I can't wait to see what you're working on.
You guys have already done a lot for us with your mods. I'm looking forward to new developments from your wonderful team. Good luck!
Yes this could be interesting. A collaboration by well respected members of the community. And yes, definitely get the "Serenity" connection above. Never mind Summer Glau, can we have Morena Bachharin as a passenger, please!
I just want to mention you two will get. I created our team discord, and set the picture tho this: No one on the team new what it was, I was devastated.
Watched the TV show and movie several times and read a few of the spin off novels from the library, too!
I cant believe how excited I am by this. On the live stream announcement for TSW6, it was casually mentioned that DTG were opening the whole thing up to me better for modders, i utterly KNEW this has the potential to be a gamechanger. The future is very bright indeed. I cant wait to see what they do! I know that whatever it is, its likely to be British routes (the best, obvz) and likely to be of the utterly highest standard. PS - PLEAAAAASE be steam engines!! PPS - or a Northern Rail Class 142 Pacer circa 2019 and here is my cryptic picture, which should be their logo
No doubt whatever they'll be making will be good, but I just hope it isn't the 456th WCML route we've had. I do hope the release goes well however, regardless of whatever it may be.
I've always wondered if you guys would eventually form a third party. Glad to see it come to fruition! Can't wait to see what you've got cooking behind the scenes!
Whilst I admit I'm not super knowledgeable about these guy's stuff as a console user, from what I have seen it looks good, so congrats all on becoming official partners and I'm sure you'll cook up some good stuff.
It's really good to see you guys getting together and working on some content! Especially after seeing you guys around the forums and working to better the game. It's just good to see some well known and respected forum users banding together to make content! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Loved the film especially and the TV was great too! Still have the theme song tucked away on a Spotify playlist somewhere
My main advice would be to start modest. If it’s a route, don’t jump in with both feet like AAB or ATS on something too ambitious. I would rather have a nice branch line or 20 to 30 miles of secondary line that is within the team capability. Or maybe they have in mind extending and modernising an existing route. TVL reworked and extended to Bishop Auckland and Boulby would be superb. Throw in a Class 56 and take my money… now! If it’s a timetable pack, then one of the quieter routes - not BML! If it’s a loco pack, then a Class 25, 50 or Deltic even the above mentioned 56 is Day One. But most important of all, learn from the Class 104 debacle, Tadami and even some of the TSG stuff. Don’t announce or allow yourselves to be coerced by DTG to announce, details before the product is well on its way to completion, early beta at least.
It is so exciting to see you guys Fawx , bescot , SprattyHeath teaming up and especially JetWash. I wish you all the best, success, good business, and great new content for us, the community. I'm sure you guys will be able to raise the bar!
If anybody knows how to get the best out of TSW, it's these guys. Let's hope they have the freedom to maximise their potential. No pressure !!! Good luck to all.
Yes the JT, ATS, TSG and AAB add-ons are rubbish! Riviera is terrible too! I wonder why anyone plays TSW if they think it's so awful.
I’m sure if they avoid the traps some of the other 3P’s have fallen in to, do something that’s a crowd pleaser that is thoroughly tested before submitting for release they will avoid other than constructive feedback. I mean, whatever they are making is probably a fair way off yet anyway and as I said earlier probably the main lesson to be aware of is not declare your product too early, even if egged on by DTG.
Considering they fixed quite a lot of dtg's problem's, and brought the routes up to a better standard, it's hard to see what one could complain about. Unless it's just another electric bus route
These guys have been on the forums for ages and their mods literally fix things that people complain about. They've also been the people leaving constructive criticism in the past alongside the rest of us. I think those individuals will want to produce something of high quality because they know what it's like not to get that And I think that's why there is so much positivity on the thread here too.
I have basically total faith in Firefly Simulations to produce something objectively fantastic unless they all get in a car crash where they suffer head injuries or something. What I am concerned about is because we know they're so good any slip up or commercial decision to leave something - and there will be one - is going to have the haters on this forum crying like little babies. For example, no one is bothered that the WCML South enhancement timetable atm has freight not quite finished because it's so bloody good for people in their spare time. But there will be some decision like that made for this add on - there has to be because eventually the thing has to be released - and I just know there'll be wailing. I'd love to be wrong btw. But I'd put good money on this. And this is no criticism of any of the Firefly guys, it's us...
