AABS aren't releasing a Santa Fe Pack (that's HIS) , they're doing an Avanti 805.

To be fair anything that is in production and near complete/in testing will likely already have a penciled in release date.

I may be in the minority, but I see the core issues separate from route developer issues.

DTG need to sort the core, whilst Rivet/JT/AABS need to look at route issues.
If DTG can get a handle on the core, it will improve all current routes, which then drops back onto the 3Ps to get their end together.

This is even worse though!

 

Bought this route (again) now it's had a couple of patches, and am pleased with it overall. The detailing is fantastic, especially the clutter around the track area, and should be a yardstick for future TSW routes. The 350s still have a few foibles but are good (the throttle has four notches but seems to behave as a 0-100% ?). I keep getting the 'door stuck' messages despite having disabled Random Faults, but that is probably an ongoing TSW6 issue.

 

Same happens to me with the 150 and 220, so it's probably a game issue not necessarily a route issue

 

I think the detailing is the reason I'm hooked on this route... I'm not a massive fan of EMUs, but I'm really enjoying the 350 and 390 on this route for some reason. I go back to WCMLS and it just doesn't have the same appeal, despite the stock being the same. Add in the ability to get myself well and truly confused trying to do "I wonder if...?" free roam stock moves and shunts around Crewe and it's a winner, for me at least.

 

I do really like the route but i just cant play it with the blurry textures

 

2025 timetable announced in the roadmap which will be compatible with the 805. Really hoping the issues can be sorted as been holding off getting this on console.

 

Adding more layers and a busier timetable is only going to make it worse on console i am afraid.

Unless we get the 'magic' console optimization at some point!

 

Not sure it will be 'busier' as there are still some pre-Covid services that have yet to be fully restored, particularly local services. However, the 805 as an additional layer would be a concern.

 

Is this on freeroam,timetable or does it do it on any route/train combo? Ive ran the Riviera and BNS to crewe on freeroam and in scenario mode but not noticed this.Ive changed from HD to 4K and back again and cant see the blurry textures,or text in cab or on foot.I dont know what the answer is i was just wondering where it happens.I play on XSX and run the game from my expansion card,not that it should make any difference,i also have all layers enabled but i only have about 9 dlc routes.
Also i cant delete any photos from the game,but looking at other threads this seems to be an ongoing problem.

 

It was on timetable mode the riviera line is perfect but Birmingham to Crewe is awful for blurry textures i cant play it like that

 

While your here,tegarding selecting individual layers,is this only available in timetable mode? I dont get the option in freeroam or am i missing something?

Yes, you will have no layers in free-roam, because no timetable.

Layers basically just means adding services to a timetable, although some will be AI and not visible as actual playable services within the timetable.

Free roam is just you and the track and surroundings to do as you please with.

*you should not get graphics issues in free roam really, as it is not system intensive like timetable or even scenario is.

 

Im going to have a play around in timetable mode,ive only really used freeroam or scenario mode.That will explain why ive not noticed any graphics issues.

 

It also depends what other DLC you own to provide the layers of course.

 

Very excited that this route will be getting a second modern timetable.

Personally the problems I've encountered on this route are nowhere near as bad as others seem to be having.

I've had several runs now with no issues, and I've mainly only encountered serious issues on 350 stopping services in the Smethwick area. The Wolverhampton Local scenario was particularly bad, but the textures reverted back to normal at Wolverhampton.

Maybe my tolerance is higher than most? Either way, I'm really enjoying the route.

 

Can I ask what platform you’re on? I’m thinking about buying this today but the blurry textures are putting me off massively. I’m on Xbox series x

 

Let's just hope that along with the AAS patches, that the possible 2D map glitch found and discussed by Matt in quite good detail in last nights stream resolve the majority of the issues causing blurry textures...

I'm not getting my hopes up to much, but I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I was pleasantly surprised the blurry textures and the plan to attempt to resolve them was discussed in some length. However I won't be patting anyone on the back just yet until I see results, but I do thank the community for advocating to get this far and hopefully fixed to some extent.

 

I play on xbox series x and it is really blurry in most places on the route. But then i could do a another run with no blurriness. Its really hit and miss with this route. Get a few crashes at Crewe tho.

 

Thank you. I think I’m gonna hold off. I’ve been so patient with this game and bugs over the past 6 years but the one thing that just winds me up and I can’t look past is the blurry textures.

 

Against my better judgment, just bought on Xbox Series X.

After my standard 5 minute boot up to the menu, chose a Crewe to BNS service on the 390. Loaded up and crashed to dashboard with an out of memory error before the route had even loaded. So another 5 minute load up is now occurring for a second attempt.

My own fault for buying to be honest, but there is no way this is acceptable to sell as a product.

 

In my opinion it is totally unfinished they should never have released it in such a bad state.

 

Tried again - disabled all but “main layers” and in fairness it worked fine, albeit incredibly empty.

Have to say though, it looks STUNNING. Crewe was gobsmacking and this route makes such good use of the Pendo tilt.

 

Just wanted to ask is it worth it to get the route? Especially for PS5. Or still better to wait and buy it later or on discount?

 

Interesting.. I’ve had it crash only once on Series S and that was walking on foot around Crewe while hunting the collectibles!

 

can only speak as a series x user, and also as someone who can look past aesthetic issues and prioritises a busy and varied timetable first and foremost, i'd say it's a must have route (if you own a good number of applicable layers). not sure how the environment would look with just the base route and nothing else though.

Finished that run and the “main layers” only method got me all the way with no crashes and most surprisingly, no blurry textures. Now it obviously leaves the route very sparse and I just saw infrequent AI 350s and 390s, but it does actually WORK which is the main thing.

My main thoughts are if it can be made to work with all the intended layers on console then it’s superb. But for now seems just too much of a compromised experience for me. Fingers crossed next week’s patch can work some wonders.

 

I bought it at launch on XSX. No crashes until yesterday. I'm playing with all the 350 layers off. Only got the 390, 220, 323, 170 and tfw layers active. 390 to Crewe, crashed 1.5 miles from completion. Guess I was just being lucky until then.

Just thought. We are are getting a 2025 WCML South Timetable. and a 2025 Birmingham to Crewe Timetable.
I feel like I sense a Possible Milton Keynes Central to Birmingham route here. Whether it be an extension or a separate route not sure. I would hope it be an extension. So then a 2025 Timetable for Milton Keynes to Birmingham. I feel like this is a no brainer.
That would add so much playability. Fact you could take an Train from Oxley depot to Wolverhampton then to be able to do a Full Wolverhampton to London Euston Run. Also doing Crewe to London Runs Via Birmingham New Street. Now that would be absolutely amazing. It just seems logical. What do you all think?

 

Ive finally given it a go in timetable mode on Riviera and BNS.Riviera seems to run okay,no matter wether on foot or driver mode,BNS not so good.A bit choppy sometimes but a really nice looking route all the same.I turned off 4K and ran it on HD setting and it improved the running at the expense of slightly blurry in cab textures.I have all my layers,which are only UK routes,turned on so maybe a play around with that might improve matters,or am i going to gain nothing really?
Reading other threads about this issue and how long its been going on i dont hold out any hope for a fix.I meant to say im on XSX.

 

No it wasn't. While it's true that the first incarnation of CSX:HH was released as a PC-only demo, consoles were at the heart of the TSW concept from birth.

 

Wasn't it basically supposed to be a console version of TSC?

Which has turned into needing a £3000 PC to play it properly!!

 

My PC was under £1,000 and it runs fine.
