It’s a bit choppy along the sea wall today! Train Sim Community member ‘cancelbot’ has developed a much requested feature, by producing wave and splash visual effects along the sea wall, for the Riviera Line. I’ve complied a few screenshots of this in action, for you guys to take a look at what it looks like. You can also watch a video of it here, live in action ️ *Once downloaded, please do not forget to enable the mastery scenery rewards layer, to enable this effect in game* Download here
Hopefully DTG will open the game up to modders on console. It would transform the experience entirely
I downloaded the visual effect and put it in the DLC folder. But I don't see the scenery mastery reward layer to activate it. Any idea what I might have missed?
Yup, that is what I mean. And Microsoft NEVER have as far as I know. I think PS you could get some pro evo mods back in the day, so not sure if that differs.
Mods are more down to the game developers. Take games like Far Cry 5, Skyrim and Fallout 4. All have fantastic modding communities on console. I’m pretty sure if DTG decided to include mods the big two corporations would allow it.
Upon launching the game, there should be a DTG Live tab at the top. Click that and there should be all of your mastery rewards. Click on the Riviera Line route to enable to mastery scenery overlay
This sort of thing makes me soooooo cross. Had I been in the first meeting that DTG held to fire the starting gun on the Riviera project then the first thing I would've said was "We must capture waves breaking over the seawall at Dawlish as that is the iconic part of this route". Then I would've kept bringing this one point up until it was incorporated into the plans. Prior to today I guess I thought that this wasn't possible to implement in-game. No I know that it is then; (a) Hats off to the modder and (b) Shame on you DTG for not having the foresight to do it yourself. (And don't even think about blaming "resources").
Have you made sure you've placed the .pak DLC file in the correct folder? You should be able to select it within the game mastery settings after doing so. Here's a screenshot of the mastery rewards overlay settings page (ignore the watermarks)
It's all good, my DLC file was a copy, but not the original. Everything's perfect. Thanks for these mods.
At this point I’d rather they just focus on fixing the game instead of releasing more content. At least the third party devs have content cooking and dtg only have one route released planned, so they really have no excuses… oh wait Metro Rivals
