If you want it to look like something banged-up in MS Paint by a hyperactive 5 year-old on a sugar-rush, i'm your guy.

    I'm not exactly Tony Hart.

Took a while but hey let's be happy. It kinda looks it's almost done, we might only need to wait like 2 weeks. Day one for me

I’m thinking closer to Christmas rather than a few weeks. We had to wait a fair amount of time for JT to release the 86, so considering this is a complete new build from scratch, it might be a waiting game for the 90.

Sure, but the 86 also had the Mk2Fs and Mk1RMB, while I am pretty sure the 90 will be standalone and substitute some 66 services. Also, it looks ready, altough maybe the timetable still has to be done.

Well the 90 to me personally isn't even a freight loco, I am defenitely using it on WCMLOS, WCMLBC, and WCMLCP! (the last 2 acronyms are Birmingham Crewe and Crewe Preston)
Probably with Virgin or a Sleeper livery, like how TinTin did a Class 90 sleeper run from Carisle to Glasgow, defenitely fun to watch.

I've posted before about the 40s. So I'm in that minority with you as well.

Tging is when the 86 was announced, it was just renders in a modelling suite, whereas the 90 was shown fully textured and in-game

    Frig me, they announce a new Class 90 and next thing everyone's piling on with their wishlists of great now we can have;
    • Class 91
    • Class 70
    • Class 321
    • Mk3 DVT
    • APT
    • Plus others no doubt
Let's be serious for a moment and just appreciate this good news about the 90 :)

That said.... based on the statement that this is the first Class 90 DLC and that it is only really mentioning freight (and the photo's do not show the rubbing plate nor the drop buckeye) I'd say that this is the "primarily freight" version and that they would be working on a "passenger version" to follow as a separate DLC which would have the buckeye coupling and rubbing plate, possibly adding in the Mk3 DVT as well to sweeten the deal ;)

Regardless it'll almost certainly be a day 1 for me :)

I wasn't even expecting anything else from ATS so this was a nice surprise.

Just shame that there won't be an opportunity for a particularly long run on WCMLs.

Definitely a day one purchase as I do love the class 90.

I've been wanting a 91 long before the 90 was introduced. My "all they need to do is +1 to it" post was just tongue in check

Hey now, MS Paint was quite useful, I used to reskin lots of stuff for MSTS using MS Paint, oh yeah now it makes sense :/

Joking aside, I think the livery editor on TSW is so awkward, it is a shame that you can't just use Paint and import it...

Update in the Roadmap is tasty.. possible inclusion of 5 livery variants - with a chance of branded and licensed operators!

It may surprise you to know that only 15 of the fleet of 50 were built for passenger services. A few more seemed to flit from Parcels to passenger to freight and back again but it was only 90001 to 015 that were truly Inter-City locos and most of them are hauling freight now.

    Not on Birmingham Crewe?
Or is it the same reason why they used Glossop 323 at Crewe?

Mixed traffic loco. All have worked passenger and freight at some point in their careers. As well as mail traffic.

Basically replaced the early AC locos 81 to 85 which were also mixed traffic but freight only by the end of their lives.

Getting my request in early for someone to do Wolf of Badenoch and Swallow-liveried Mk3s to park at Crewe. Might distract from the terrible texturing and memory leaks!

Put it another way, the real Wolf assaulted Shap and Beattock on a daily basis on express passenger and freight turns. This Wolf catches rays and raindrops in a siding most of the time and occasionally hauls the upper class about....

Shame they don’t all get about more often, I think LSL now have x2 90s and custodians of the Badger.

I really want one in Intercity so I can use it on the JT routes. I remember them being in service before the DVTs were built and it would be cool to represent that short era.

I think they are pushing freight simply because up until now the 66 has been the only modern UK freight loco in the game, and goods haulage really needs some variety. We got lots of passenger trains.

I do wish we got an Intercity liveried 90 for Railtours but on the whole I'm happy we are getting a new electric locomotive.

Better than the 86, so a definite improvement in my book.
Although overall I'm not a huge fan of unsightly OHLE.

being ATS. If they dont have bugs then i might consider getting this somehow. If there are too many bugs that affects the driving experience and they refuse to fix it (and its overpriced). Then I will stick with TSC...

Looking forward to this one. And it's reassuring that with the 86/2 and Class 90 Intercity set coming after the Freight version, anyone building the Great Eastern main line isn't now starting with a blank canvas traction-wise.

Maybe that's why the Class 90 is coming, because if you look at the Class 86 dlc, it was clearly made mainly for the Preston to crewe route.. so maybe the Class 90 could be for a future geml?..

I don't get the obsession with the GEML , because it will still look empty thanks to the stinginess when it comes to trains provided with each route in TSW.

In my opinion, the only provider who above and beyond was Making Tracks back in the days of MSTS.
With the GEML, they did Liverpool St-Ipswich and later added an extension to Norwich.
I still play it once in a while on Open Rails.

Why don't I think it won't work for TSW? Because TSW is notorious for one or two items of stock.
As a youngster I loved the GEML for the sheer variety of EMUs on the route. From 302s to 315s which a lot of classes in-between.

To this day, I still consider them the best train sim 3rd party there ever was. They took forever to do a route, but it was always worth it.

Whether it was the 86 era or 90 era on the GEML, there were still plenty of classes of EMU on the lines - not like now, sadly - and any content creator would need more than the usual one.

What you ar seeing is a model. You don’t know if the cab is completed and even scripted. Timetable done there is ALOT more to just showing off what could be a model and this is what people fault to understand. Scripting and sounds etc takes a hell if a long time to do.
