Are there no yellow Caution aspects on the Underground? I just got nailed by a SPAD with no warning

There should be. Saying that, Lu signals are 2 aspect but in a lot of sections there should be repeaters for the next signal (identified by a yellow plate beneath the signal). check this page for LU signalling https://districtdave.co.uk/html/signalling.html

not as such no they have repeater signals that will show a green or a yellow if its a yellow start braking as the next signal is red. On normal signals it is either a red or green. North of queens park you go onto national rail signalling systems which is the standard british 3 aspect so will have red yellow and green.

That's the thing: I saw the red, assumed it must be the repeater for the main signal at danger beyond- and got popped as I passed it. (In the dark, there's no way to read the signal plate until it's too late to stop). There was no yellow signal at all.

Ok so in terms of signals and sighting.

If a signal is placed at a distance where the driver cant see it in enough time to stop then a repeater will be installed.

A repeater has 2 aspects a yellow and a green
Yellow - The next signal is read (the one the repeater is repeating) so as soon as you see the yellow you need to start braking
Green - the signal ahead is green so carry on at line speed

if there is enough sighting time from the driving position to seeing the signal that is displaying a red then a repeater is not needed.

ANY signal showing a red you stop at red = stop

    hope this helps.

Hi.. I’ve a query on the 2010-1 Stonebridge Depot to Stonebridge Pak

Having set the cab up, you proceed toward the station. You then encounter a RED signal. I stopped. The countdown clock showed I was some 3 mins ahead of schedule.

so I sat at the red for three minutes.. the telephone instruction with signaller was ‘as indicated’.. so I sat there and the timer ran past .. there are no siding indicators, so I decided to proceed and was not stopped… very shortly after there’s yet another red signal, so having passed the first one ok as I was going to the station, I thought it’d be ok to proceed.. only to SPAD. End of game.

    I’ve two questions,,

    1. How was it ok to pass the first red but not the second?
    2. Just how long do you have sit and wait for a yellow or green? If contacting the signaller gave you some idea that would help. You’re not told to wait for a passing train either.

Do you have the track monitor on?

The first red actually shows as a green in the monitor and you can pass it fine, the second needs a request to pass and then goes to green on the depot signal attached below the main red.

That first red signal is basically meaningless. Not sure if it's prototypical or not but you can ignore it. The second requires you to let the signaller know that you are ready to proceed (contact signaller).

I had track monitor off so I’m relying on what the signal actually says.

How do you know the first signal is meaningless?

I never had to stop for it and never saw it change. Ever.

I’ve turned the track monitor on again .. I’ll sacrifice a little realism for not getting kicked out of a game.

If it's the signal I'm thinking of there's a tiny little shunt signal in the weeds you can hardly see

I also kind of blamed this to be a TSW glitch untill I saw this Video of the Picadilly Line the other day and realized they actually just run into red signals...
