When registering entitlements and downloading content for TSW6, I noticed content for Xbox and Steam said ‘in library’ or ‘owned’, but for PS I had to ‘add to library’ and then received a purchase receipt. I didn’t notice what it said for EGS. Is PlayStation the only one of the TSW platforms that requires you to manually claim each add on for compatible content?
I can’t comment on steam, but yes, you need to add each piece of content individually. This has been the same far back as TSW2020. Also this isn’t just for TSW, every game on PlayStation has the same principles in place. It’s like when you want to claim your free upgrade on a game (PS4>PS5) you have to manually go into the store and buy it for zero money. Some dlc’s for example too. I picked up a couple of the season passes for Zombie Army 4. Loaded up my game and was confused to not see any of my extra missions, equipments showing. Turns out I had to manually go into the store and choose all the content that showed free and add it to my library also.
Sony were very late to the party on properly establishing an online store interface, and its initial implementation was more of an afterthought, rather than the strategy by longer time players in the PC market of building stuff for a social gaming interface on top of an initial solid store backend.
