Buffer Heights once again not standardised.

 

Thanks for the feedback. The DRS (and ONE) Class 66 are by Rivet Games. All Cargo Line Class 66s are aligned and all have had their heights corrected.

 

So far from what I've seen I do actually really like the pack. I haven't bought it but I'm genuinely considering it if we get positive console feedback.

It seems like the sounds have been slightly tweaked or updated? The horn especially and even running sounds seem better than the TVL 20. I like the suspension too, bouncing around all over the place. Personally I like the way the cab is modelled too, more updated and more modern.

It would've been nice to see the 31 layer into the WCMLOS flask trains? (I know they ran on them but unsure if it's prototypical with the 31 we have?). I know it's old but the 31 is still absolutely fantastic and would've been a nice change.

My biggest question so far is the price? Comparing with the ROG 37 which is a very similar pack but much cheaper. I understand with inflation and the work that's been done it can't be that cheap, but I feel like something more in line with the other Cargo line packs might have been a little fairer.

But again I love what SHG and Adam are doing with these packs. And the issues with multiple timetables etc are understandable given the circumstances.

 

Please take a look at the AWS because on PS5 at least it loops way too early, and also external audio does not play when the cab window is opened

 

I believe there is a problem when the Class 20 is coupled up to a wagon the suspension drops at the coupled end.

I am enjoying it so far, it is nice to not have the class 66 again and I hope Skyhook consider doing more loco variants in the future

Some minor bugs I found:

The fuel pump connects to the wrong place

Don't know if these are bugs or not:

The fuel gauge is covered on the DRS class 20 compared to the RF class 20. They might be like that in real life though, in which case it would not be a bug


The jumper cable is invisible if you couple a DRS and RF class 20, but I don't know if a modern 20 can work with an old 20 in real life

 

I took a gamble and purchased.

First issue is this.
I do not have any options listed to access the CLI 20/3 before starting a route. This is on the Preston - Carlisle route ONLY.
I have access to TVL class 20 on both routes. WCML South will allow me to choose both classes tho so no problem there.
Just Preston - Carlisle on PS5 is.

Good point about the price. One reason I haven’t bought the Santa Fa pack at 14.99. Re used locos and not very accurate.
Where as this is a completely new model so I’m quite willing to pay the extra cost because I get the nuclear flask carrier’s as well.

It’s new not re purposed stuff. I I’ll agree with moving forward with new models not just the Sheds that will eventually start being replaced with newer traction anyway. So I’m all for new models or class types.
I emailed DTG and Hornby about working together. One does the routes, Hornby did the loco models.

Users can mix and match according to the various eras and routes DTG has now amassed.

Could Locos be what DTG needs right now. I’d assume it takes less time to build loco models than a full route.
All games have some form of micro transactions so yes I’m all for seeing newer models being produced.

Is there a list of what it layers into ? I thought it was layering into Preston / Carlisle. But it doesn’t seem to? Just get TVL 20

I bought it tonight, but requested a refund because there were no French translations.

 

Why you use not english? For gaming now days thats a requirement i should say.

 

It's supposed to, it seems like that one is missing. I'm on PC/Steam and have done a computer restart after downloading. Confirmed that I'm using the Nuclear timetable. It also layers into WCML out of Euston, it appears fine on that route. Seems like the wrong timetable got uploaded?

 

The TPWS temporary isolation switch behaves strangely compared to other trains.

It seems to me that it returns to normal via a spring effect and that the temp isolation indicator lights up.

But on this locomotive, it seems to act more like a general switch for the TPWS and remains in position and the light don't light up.
Maybe this is normal on this machine and maybe I'm wrong.

I also find it strange that there is nothing written on the button; without the HUD, we can't know what it does.
The DSD uses the same selector without any indication either.

I am also French, my game is in French, but the English DLCs have never bothered me. You just need to have a basic knowledge of English.

 

I didn't include it in my previous post because of the limit, but I also noticed this in the fuse box.

 

I also had a lot of sound distortion and flickering of some lights (on the radio and the hazard button) in the cab of the Class 20, it was not present in the original Class 20.

 

For Preston to Carlisle it uses the 47 from the route. This Class 20 is based on a more modern depiction that would be entirely inaccurate if put on Preston to Carlisle.

 

The 20 doesn't layer onto Shap, the flask trains do - they are 47 hauled as that is era appropriate

I think it's quite alright really, just did a run from Willesden to MK on the Choppers and found it quite agreeable with the only shame about the run being that it's in its own timetable and not the superb modded timetable which really brings the WCMLSouth to life (though completely understandable, hopefully the chaps behind Mod will update it accordingly).

I'm going to fire up the DeLorean and go Back To My Happy Place (not as much of a box office smash as BTTF) and have a run with the 47, quite frankly I'm very happy that there are an abundance of 80s era workings.

My one little gripe is that the 20s are so well modelled and the sounds are great, just there isn't much of an opportunity to use them. Surely they could have dropped on the odd railtour or two, heck I was personally on one which was 2x20/3s at one end and a 37 on the rear which ran from Crewe to Willesden before coming off and doing the scenic route to Ely. No doubt the Mazy Day Cornishman has been Chopper hauled on more than one occasion. Pity really :/

That said, the 20s are excellent and the wagon looks great too. Nice one on adding in other jobs too so the 66 hauled flasks on Rivera and the 1980s workings for Shap

 

Problems:
The hazard light button does not seem to be working and flickers in the dark.


The air line connections on nuclear wagons are not facing each other.


Suggestion:
Add information on the fire extinguisher for details.


Make the phone interactive so that the signaler can be contacted from the cab without going through tab menu.

Any chance you please change the key binds on the class 20 so that the AWS and DVD reset are not both set to the same key please. This was how they were on the TVL 20 but not how the more up to date stock is which doesn't work with players controller set ups. In the TSW settings menu you can program what keys you would like to use for each function but this is not supported with the 20 it seems.

Also would it be possible to make the phone or the SG button on the GSM-R interactive so you can contact the signaller that way? Thanks!

 

I don't understand why this cargoline pack is the most expensive of all the packs yet offers the least amount of gameplay with its own loco. 4 class 20 services unless you own another third party route is a bit sad. I was actually hype to get this pack for the class 20 the got a bit disappointed. We shouldn't have to use free roam for everything. Maybe if it actually subbed in for the RHTT it would be worth it but for now i don't want to buy it for 1 wagon and a reskin. I know they have been working on lawn mower sim 2 so maybe thats why there was not much attention put into this.

 

Consider the nature of the series it’s a part of, and how for the first time it comes with a vastly modified loco. Think how these packs add gameplay without detracting from what already exists - and how we sometimes get these additional timetables just to enable us to ‘play’ all the possible services included.

I think one day, sooner or later, there’ll be some mass consolidation of add-ons and layers to ensure they all fit together somehow somewhere!

Actually I was wondering if you could correct me on this confusing situation regarding placement of rear lamps etc, before I make a fool of my self again.
I’ve marked them with a red X and one black X where I’d assume there would be a fuel tank gage.
If you could help or any community member I’d really appreciate it.
I’m not very knowledgeable about this sort of detail, yet do have some knowledge of it all tho ie the difference sub classes.


It’s very confusing because on the real locos these sets are based on either have the rear light and rear lamp hook but no fuel tank gage marked with the black X. Then there’s some confusion about what looks like a fuel filler near where the front sand box filler is.
But this model has non. I’ve been taking Reference from DRS Class 20/3 across the years in operation.And then HNRail (HNRC).
20 311/20 314.

If you or any member could correct me or if the model is incorrect in certain areas for any inaccuracies to be corrected.

I have no idea either

 

20301 does not have a "Cyclops" light on the cab but does have one on the nose
20302-305 have neither a Cyclops on the cab nor one on the nose
20306-20314 have both a Cyclops on the cab and one on the nose

In-cab GSM-R does not work (no interactive buttons) and there is no button to contact the signaller neither on the telephones or the GSM-R unit ; despite being featured as one of the key features on the steam page description candacedtg

 

• Also the instrument light(gauge lights) switch seems buggy as well as even after having them on when the train enters a tunnel they are dark again and has to be toggled on and off again.
• Hazard button / lights does not work.

 

Blunt end headlights don't work only the tail lights. The switch controls the cab end regardless of what desk you use.

Separate notes:

Battery ammeter in the cab is constantly showing discharging.
When driving from the blunt end desk you are unable to reset the DSD/DVD by keybind only by clicking the actual pedal.

 

Outside of the cab, some headlights and a unbranded reskin i cant really call it vastly modified. The suspension is all messed up and the audio is the same as the TVL one. On top of that its just 1 freight car whereas the other packs had multiple.

 

Hello again,
When the old and new Class 20 are on the same map without being coupled.
If both are turned off (engine stop light on)
The engine sound can still be heard even though both are stopped.

What is suppose to layer into Rivera line from this pack because I can’t see any changes on my system. Ps5 unless I am missing a DLC..v

 

You need the Engineering Express pack (because DRS 66) and the 86 pack for coaches

A few more bugs to report:

• The engine stop button on the back cab (the one facing the engine) doesn't work
• The brake applied and handbrake applied indicator lights do not work
• The anglecock interaction boxes are too small and they are hard to click
• It won't let you couple it to rolling stock that don't have air brakes

 

How do I turn on the DSD from a gamepad on a Class 20? I don't see anything like a switch in the cockpit. I can turn it on from the keyboard, and something clicks, but I can't figure out where it is.There must be something, because it works somehow on consoles.

 

There a black switch you turn above where the aws leavers are.

 

Oh thanks for letting us know. Did more research when I got the chance (I’m not fully aware of the difference information that comes with this sort of thing) so I did start to see the bigger picture. An example is 20302 that has no fuel tank fill at the front. No Cyclops (Thank you for the correct terms) and no filler gauge on the rear end (Body). It’s also fitted with what looks like a BRUSH plate on end 1 side B.
20 311 and 20 314 haven’t.

But 20 302 has what looks the fuel tank gauge and still in the condition like what these models are meant to represent.
If so why is that gauge missing from behind the front cab, I could be wrong about it all tho.

Hope not because I’ve pushed 20 311 and 20 314 out in my haste to move on to other things. 302 is held back.


One positive thing I would like to add is the model has no issues in LD, and why I’ve personally purchased this loco add on over Santa Fe defected pack.

So just want to give credit where it’s due and say thank you SKYHOOK Games for making sure that’s right.

Could I please have a screenshot?

 

WCML South service 6A73. Red at Berkhamsted, no other trains on the map, has held me for 16 minutes and counting. Is this intentional or a bug?

 

I’ve faced something similar heading in to Preston on the Preston - Carlisle obviously

There was a delayed services on the platform including mine. Checking the status of each service they had various differences in their times.
Now I was running behind by less than 10 minutes so I waited for any delayed services to clear.
There was no movement out of Preston yet services were entering where possible or stacking up.

I gave up after 30 half hour waiting because each time I checked the service status the delayed times kept going up and up.
I couldn’t see anything ahead that would have caused the massive delay neither.
The only thing that crossed my mind was no more service movements past a certain time.

On trying the route again tho and running on time resulted in completing the route without issue.
Was the first issue a punishment for running late or a bug with signalling for departures out of Preston. (All on red while the line ahead was amber/ head green). Or not enough service time to complete if delayed.

If ever I am delayed by more than 15/20 minutes I start again unless notified of a delay.
Because more often than not it’s some small bug or error that prevents any progress.
The second time around tho tends to be more successful if sticking closer to the allocated arrival time.

Be interesting to know if you completed the route on the second attempt. If not then sounds like it’s a bug if held for any major length.
