Dear lord another timetable this is getting silly now. I wouldn't mind but progress doesn't even carry over. Thanks for the info tho.
Was really interested in this when it was announced but to be honest, seeing as the small nation of community managers dovetail employ can't even be bothered to answer one simple question about the patch notes they themselves posted and have actively ignored the question repeatedly I think it's time to say enough is enough. If they can't be a***d to answer a simple question, I can't be a***d to buy any more to pay their wages only to be completely ignored if I dare ask a question.
Still pretty excited for CLv5, although the many many different timetables *is* getting a bit out of hand now. ECML has 3, WCML South will have 4 soon with the 805 pack, Shap has 3 now, WCML Brum will have 2. ECW will soon have 3 if the 171/377 pack gets a new TT go go with it. The GWE will have 3 incl the DLoGW TT. Surely some of these at least can be merged together?
I believe the Cargo Line timetables are just carbon copies with the Military having nuclear layered and Nuclear having Military layered. At least I hope that's the go. A whole new timetable for really no reason would be a tad annoying
A separate timetable for this is frustrating i was going to buy to try it out but dont think i will bother now
I kinda hate the whole new timetable every DLC. It does nothing to enhance the original gameplay and in many cases ends up being a copy/paste/edit of what was probably a lacklustre timetable in the first place. Literally got 5 versions of the BCC route now and for WCMLs. Exceptions to this that work are the forthcoming Pacer pack and timetable for Cardiff from Just Trains, that will totally change the gameplay. Everything else should be another layer on the original timetable, or should be a totally new experience.
Presumably they can't just add them into the original timetable otherwise they would. Wouldn't DTG need to have left a path for them? Personally I don't see the issue as I just use the one I think is the best, although it would be good to be able to hide timetables. I'm not, not going to purchase some DLC I like the look of because it adds a new timetable. Having said that if we get to the point where there several very similar ones that would get silly. I assume the class 90 will have its own timetable. The class 805 timetable will be worth having.
Thanks for the note. This is a bug. The dispatcher is letting the nuke train cut a corner but we'll get a fix for this out soon.
WRT separate timetables, If we're allowed to implement into the original timetables we will, but as with Just Trains, they said no. Its their timetable. WRT Nuclear, Military and Intermodal duplicating timetables, each DLC must have its own copy. One cannot rely on the presence of another.
So why did the 1st 2 cargo packs go into the current timetable and did not get new ones like the last 3.
The first cargo packs went onto GWE (created by DTG) and MML (Created by skyhook) obviously DTG gave permission and Skyhook didn't need permission to add it to their own route. WCMLOS is created by Just Trains so they have the final say of what goes into the default timetable.
DTG said yes to the GWE timetable and MML is our own route. DTG said no to the SEHS timetable, hence why there are only scenarios for SEHS in Vol.2. DTG could not give a time frame of when they would update the WCML timetable following TSW5 release. After waiting several months we decided to make our own version so it would not run into further disruption if/when DTG do decide to update the WCML timetable.
Is there any overview of what the SHG timetable is like on WCMLS outside of the pack? Is it similar to the old timetable? Has it been changed at all?
I’m pretty curious about why this pack doesn’t layer MML since it would fit perfectly with the nuclear power plant and to a lesser extent NTP also has nuclear power plant I think
I know this is a very first world problem but for me at least it'd be a nice touch to be able to sub the DRS 66 (if not, any other CL 66) onto the CLv5 runs. The Class 20 is great don't get me wrong, it'd just be a cool little extra option as we do have the DRS 66 layer on Riviera (I know those are a Rivet job)
Im still waiting for some more console users to give reviews, but this looks positive from what seen.. But just wanted to say Kudos to the Dev for being in here answering questions and providing updates for us all! Any idea on a time frame for the first patch or is that a DTG thing?
I have it on PlayStation 5 and it's pretty solid. I've not done any jobs on Shap yet, I wanted to get those Riviera runs done first and have completed 1 job on WCML South. My only bug bear is that it's a bit more expensive than the previous Cargo Line packs but that's inflation for you I guess. No blurry textures in the three runs I've done so far, some fps dips below 30fps on the WCML South. Otherwise nothing noteworthy fault/bug wise - solid release imo
It's pretty good I'm enjoying it although the AWS alert loops poorly and when you open the cab window you hear the same audio that plays in the cab
I had this happen to me but if you create a custom formation with the DRS 20's and the RHTT, when you go sit down in the train the game will crash. This is not the fault of the pack and rather a bug with the RHTT but since a lot of people are probably gonna try running this formation thought i'd mention it.
Hi Everyone, Thanks for the continued feedback. To answer some raised points so far: Ability to sub with the DRS 66 - Two problems here, 1]I don't think its possible for locomotives of significantly different size to swap, which is why we don't see it happening already. But more importantly in this case, 2] The DRS and ONE Class 66 locomotives are setup differently to all other 66s in TSW and are not compatible when running in multiple in the same formation. We previously hit issues with this on both Intermodal and ScotRail 158 packs. I've already seen players try to put the 20 and DRS66 together in a formation and it doesn't work. The Rivet 66s were customised to haul the Class 385 and that has set them apart interoperability wise. Time frame for a first patch - It's not appropriate to say as we're currently monitoring the release to see what if any issues players face. We'll then need time to address any raised concerns and test them internally. Any updates would need to be sent to DTG for approval and release scheduling. Vol.5 is a higher price than previous volumes - This is because Vol.5 features a 'new' locomotive. Yes a Class 20 did exist previously but this is a heavily rebuilt vehicle that is by no means the same locomotive. This is a Loco+Wagon+Gameplay compared with a Wagon+Gameplay pack. RHTT Compatibility - This is not implemented. It was a stretch goal for the project and DTG have given their approval. However, it was not possible to implement this functionality for release.
Not tried the 20 yet, but doing a Riviera run in timetable mode. Flasks and rolling stock look great. Looking forward to giving it a go on the other routes.
Thanks Adam for the reply, Its a shame about the DRS66 as it's my personal favourite stickering for the shed. As for the RHTT, have you considered the business case for doing a SHG RHTT pack as Cargo Line Vol.6 - with the DRS 20 as a shg asset now there may be some collaboration with Rivet and their DRS66? I can't speak for everyone but an RHTT, Snow salting or other railcare pack would be sweet. Especially with the 20 being able to fit (size wise) into smaller branches and the like
Why would it need another timetable? If you look at layers in Military the Nuclear train is included but greyed out. I was expecting it to activate…not need another timetable.
Because what if you have nuclear but not military, or military but not nuclear. This way no matter what one you have first, if you don't buy the other one you still get to use it (I believe)
Thats the $64m question for anything found that turns out to be a bug. The Class 20 appeared in Formation Designer throughout the entire project, then when playing with the final/locked build we discovered it had gone. To get it back needed a tick box in a config file unticking and ticking again. No idea why, but only discovered after the point of no return. A real kicker! That specific fix is now waiting for the first appropriate update point.
I understand , but surely it could be coded to check that because I now have Military and Nuclear in Just Trains West Coast Mainline. They are duplicates of each other as both have both timetables included!
Yep, and there's 3 WCML South Timetables (soon to be 4), it's a pain in the bottom but it's the only way to have the DLC not be locked behind DLC (apparently) I absolutely agree with you though, of you *do* have both it should just check and only show one. All these timetables can't be helping the blurring issue
This is certainly looking like a welcome addition to TSW. I am, however, a little disappointed the exhaust dynamics have not been reworked with it being a ‘new’ loco. TSC/AP mastered this several years ago, but there seems to be little to no movement on the TSW side.
Probably not relevant to thread but... I wanted to flag something on MML, but no idea who to report it to. Any way to do this direct to Skyhook, rather than the time wasting of DTG bug reporting, or have you given up on doing anything to that route. Thanks
FYI the scenarios are just a2b jobs and thats it nothing exciting. Also noticed when it rains the is no rain drops on the windows.
I'm in two minds with this, because the 20 looks fantastic and I love the modern updated version of it. The wagons look great as well it's a really well done pack. But equally as British Ace pointed out the FNAs are the newer modern 2010s ones and are completely out of era on shap. Maybe that's why they had to do their own timetable for WCMLOS? Although TrainsimTV said he'd love an older era Nuclear transport pack in future, maybe the 31 will ride again at some stage (JT please give some love to the 31!). Take nothing away from Adam and SHG though the pack does look amazing and i'm all for more Diesel electric power!
Why is this £12.99, when I am pretty sure every other version has never been more than £9.99 on release. If I am wrong about that, then happy to be corrected. *Already answered and i should have checked first.
