Train sim world open worlds should be the next and the final title of them all. What they should do is scrap the backward compatibility and place them into the train sim world open worlds. This would stop the yearly new copies and repeated downloads. But what they should do is to use the existing copies of all the series of train sim world and place them into the open world. It would be a world map. ️ of trains just like that of flight sim. But only dealing with trains. Generated planet. They could add new area on the map in real time . New location. They could still use the same ideas they have now. Like changing your route on the map. This is just an idea to stop the ever on going yearly update. And downloads. But they would be able to add or build station on the map. Something like flight sim. But remember only trains. It would look the same like TSW. But a massive open world. Not saying it gonna happen but just imagine if this was to happen. And of course this would keep them extremely busy. Pretty sure bugs will play a big giant role in this. But this would stop the yearly new copies. This is just an idea.
Shouldn't you post this in the suggestions section? It's a pretty unrealistic suggestion, but a suggestion nonetheless.
If stopping yearly downloads is the intention then surely staying in TSW6 is the ideal scenario? TSW isn't flight sim. Having the whole world to load up would be entirely unnessacary and would probably make peoples systems melt or explode
Not sure what the "world" would be. The whole world... literally? Like MSFS? Do you realize that most of the world is not train tracks, so 99% of it would be pointless for trains. A virtual empty place online like Roblox? This sounds like an entirely new (and impractically large) game, not just a suggestion for TSW.
You don't have to modelize the whole world (just about 2km either sides of the tracks approximately, as it is already done in TSW or TSC), nor will you load everything at the start (MSFS does not do this either). But I find appealing the idea of expanding a network. Btw, isn't it the idea behind the SimRail developpement ?
The problem with TSW is that you DO in fact load at least parts of the whole route at the beginning. (That's how on the map you can tell what the other trains are doing on the route in the "map" page.) Even if not all of the graphics you can't see yet have loaded, much of it DOES load in and always runs. That is part of the reason why layering kills so many routes on slower computers. The game is tracking every layer at all times to see where it is and what it's doing, even if you don't see it because you COULD see it on your map and it affects signals down the line. Flight simulators (as the OP mentioned) by comparison don't "do" much with the rest of the world. MSFS is not tracking every car on every road in the whole world. MSFS in fact is quite "static." Its' more or less you flying over a satellite picture of the world that you don't interact with. Trains as ground vehicles are interacting with the ground, traffic, etc. They're entirely different games, not just in theme but in how they are designed. Simrail still isn't "the world." For one it's designed differently on what loads when, and second it's a very small area depicted (and not even all of that.) It's one small region of Poland. If you want a big sandbox, then I'd suggest going to play Simrail or Run 8. Those are pretty much "here are the rails, do what you want" games like DMY is talking about. TSW is NOT the game to do that in, it's not designed for it.
Gz I know the whole entire world don’t have rails. But Gz there something called use your imagination to create other rails on earth. Probably some rail company can use that. But indeed Gz guy they can use the existing rails around the world for trains sim open Words. Gz like I said I am not saying this may or may not happen. But Gz something like that. To end the yearly update on new copies. But Gz I think that would be rad. If that would happen. Gz you never know a company could use an individual idea on your imaginary plan on putting together a train company. On the map where there are no rails. Gz of course there not hip of trains on the map. But yet thus it an open world. Create create create. And yet it still a simulation to the real deal. Large companies can take that into consideration on a simulation. Ya never know that why it called use your imagination on create. But yet you have scenarios planner. Same thing in an open world but more expanded.
As has been noted previously, MS attempted to do “World Of Rails” for the second attempt at a sequel to MSTS. It foundered horribly and at best the none detailed sections would have been nothing more than a single track spline led roughly across the terrain.
"Gz, all I want is a rocket ship to fly around Pluto and back. Gz is that so hard for you guys to make for me? Gz, it's not like I'm asking for a lot."
I think it's 'geez', but it's difficult to tell as their style is, shall we say, unusual. I misread it as 'grats' because I've played so much World of Warcraft. To the OP: you've already posted this nonsense idea once already, why post it again? It's never going to happen until we all own a computer with the power of Deep Thought.
We can think what we want about it, but this post at least has the merit of making us think about the direction TSW might take in the long term (as well as on the use of 'Gz' ). The upcoming release of JT's WCML stretch south of Preston already raises questions about the possibility of continuous Carlisle - Crewe runs. And yes, how many times have I heard people here talk about "bus stop" lines... Operator#7940 clearly understood that my preference goes for charters, railtours, night trains, etc, somewhat unusual services tbh. But I wouldn't turn my nose up at an Intercity covering a few hundred kilometers ! And that's entirely within the realm of possibility, in a not-too-distant future... Again, you do not need to load everything at once, you do it sequentially.
Indeed. People tend to forget what’s not being rendered on screen is simply a bunch of 0’s and 1’s working away in the background. So when that AI train has a SPAD at Birmingham while you are at Stafford, it’s not really passing a signal,in a virtual world. It’s a 0 instead of a 1 calculating where a train should stop, ruining your day.
Everyone is trolling on my post. This post is about stopping the yearly new game. Stopping the long download folk talk about before. Who give a rat behind about anything else gz. My post I say what I want. Folk constantly complain about not finishing the few copies of TSW 2 3 4 5. With the crashes the bugs etc etc. the long downloads in the existing copies. Of course I’m gonna say what I have to say about my idea. Not saying it gonna happen. But they could consider something like it to stop this from happening. But we all know it a money grab so what it a business. You got to do what you have to do. To build your empire. Well again Gz so what.
The loads of troll on my post is ridiculous. I clearly don’t see no source of imagination to build your own railway on a map in the train sim world open world. Something sorta like scenario planner but advance. But who cares say what you wish. Troll away.
Screw Microsoft. DTG can pull this open world into reality for train sim world open world. But you must use your imagination to build into the world. But yet still use the existing route to add to the open world map. But build all the other railways into the open world map. Now on the map where there are no railways. You build your own railways on the map. Something similar to scenario planner or pc editor But more advanced since it open world. this is just an idea Gz
Gz just write about the post. Good sense of humor isn’t that obvious. The complaint folks have about new copy of TSW every year. The overwhelming back catalog downloads if you have the entire collection. But the trolling once again let me yawn.
Morning folks! Hope everyone had a restful weekend. Just on this thread - any continued reports will warrant this thread being locked. Almost all of our weekend reports came from it, so as always, we urge users of the forum to keep it respectful, even if you disagree with others.
