Good afternoon everyone. Due to recent Morristown release alongside TSW6, i'm craving for more US now! We've been longing for new "wireless" American rail adventures for a while... Since love your huge diesels, I'd share this old idea of mine: NJT Main & Bergen Country Lines, Hoboken-Suffern end to end. Including that shorter Meadowlands Rail Line.
An exciting and busy journey through Hudson, Essex & Bergen Counties (NJ), crossing into Rockland (NY). From Hudson River front to the Hackensack Meadowlands, passing through many suburbs and towns that dotted Passaic River flow. Reaching NJ northeastern edge, gateway to the Ramapo Mountains. Along the way, you'll have to manage all NJT/Metro-North services, based on different route patterns! Plus some local NS freight traffic, including switching at many local customers served! These are NJT Main & Bergen Country Lines: Hoboken to Suffern!

    GENERAL FEATURES

    - 45mi/72km real lenght (Main+Bergen), of which 2mi/3.2km already modeled on Morristown.
    - 4mi/6.4km extra to Meadowlands.
    - Double track (mostly), excep for Hoboken-West Secaucus (4), Upper Hack Lift (1) & Ridgewood Jn-Waldwick (3). All standard gauge 4ft 8+1⁄2in/1435mm.
    - Unelectrified, except for Hoboken-Marion Sub. (25 kV 60Hz AC OHLE) & Upper Secaucus (12kV 25Hz AC OHLE).
    - 60-70mph/97-113kph max achievable speed.
    - ACSES as safety system adopted.

    OPERATORS

    Passenger (joint venture)
    - NJ Transit Rail Operations Inc(NJTR).
    - MTA Metro-North Commuter Railroad Co(MNCW).
    Freight
    - Norfolk Southern Railway(NS).
    - Others (CRCX(CSX-NS)/NYSW some areas).

    CONCLUSIONS

Would be amazing to see this made in TSW! Both about chronic lack of US diesel experiences in the recent past and to providing American users with those much-needed (and much requested) NJT diesels! Counting on you, DTG! This is an easy corner pocket for you!

If you like my suggestion, feel free to comment below here. There may be some inaccuracies, since I'm not local!

Great choice, I'd love to see that route! As long as Brandon does the signaling for it!

Brandon is done working on routes for DTG after Stamford, so he wouldn't be available for it.

Totally agree, would be a great step forward and a nice change of pace for US!

Yes, very sad that cActUsjUiCe wants to leave... His work on recent US signaling has been remarkable!

    Finger crossed about that :)

    INTEGRATION

Also wanted to introduce the NJT's "Heritage" fleet. They've recently reskinned some of their units to celebrate local, iconic railroads/operators of the past.

    Current affected fleet:

EMD GP40PH-2: 4101 "NJDOT", 4109 "Jersey Central" (commonly seen here)
    NJTH1.jpg

    EMD GP40PH-2B: 4202 "PRSL", 4208 "Conrail"
    NJTH2.jpg

    EMD GP40PH-2B: 4210 "ERIE" & Bombardier ALP-45DP: 4519 "Erie Lackawanna"
    NJTH3.jpg

Plus two ALP-46 Electric locos & Arrow III Railcars!

Hope this has been helpful, as it would be a nice "touch of class" to the roster! Have a great Sunday everyone!

It should also include the Pascack valley line, it is only 30.6miles itself and just adds service variation and kind of completes the northern lines for NJT

Yep, PL42AC is another key stone here. NJT uses ALP45/PL42s mainly today! And yes, Raritian Valley would be another solid choice! Are you local?

Was thinking about this in an early stage, but only 38Tpd+2 specials wouldn't justify that extra effort required! Put in these runs anyway, just to spice things ;).
