I kinda wanted to ask about this section "Zugvorbereitungsmeldung (ZVM - Train Preparation Notice) - like, I know this is more sth to do with immersion than sth you have to do in the game, but still... do you do this before starting a service (after registering the data, of course), or do you have to do it at each station? :) (that section is kinda interesting, so I would like to know) :)

This just confirms that your train registration is valid (in Germany only) so you just need to do it once when starting a service.

Yes as said before the update is wrapped up, now it only depends on Lukas to find a time for the German translation. I do not have a timeline as for when that will be though.

    Greetings everyone!

It has been a while. A truly long while. But finally the wait is over.
All of what needed to be fixed has been fixed. The manual update has been sent to Lukas and will be published, only in English at first to save up the time needed to wait. I will come back to you when it is posted on Steam and update the links.

    Here is the upcoming changelog:
    • Several typo corrections.
    • A new index page listing all of the used acronyms, their German name if applicable as well as their English definition.
    • A description of the base data to input if driving as a light locomotive.
    • 2 more MTD pages: W -> WD and W -> ZSG.
    • More explanations for multiple unit regarding double header/sandwich configurations.
    • More definitions in the Status Bar.
    • A checklist for taking over an already started locomotive.
    • A checklist for enabling/disabling safety systems.
    • Checklists for brake tests
    • Checklists to test PZB/LZB and SIFA.
    • The full list of statuses that can appear in the status bar of the MTD.
    • New pages about the AFB, Parking brake, Towing and enabling safety systems for the BR101.
    • New pages about testing the magnetic brakes and enabling the safety systems for the Cab-Car (and coaches for the mg brakes).
    • New pages relating to the special configurations for the ZDE/Train Data Entry panel (Grunddaten, Ersatzzugdaten, light loco) and what to do if it fails.
    • A checklist for fault diagnosis as well as more instructions on what to do if you cannot fix a fault (cycle the battery) or if that step still did not work.
    • Dedicated pages about passenger emergency brakes and LZB transmission failure.
    • Removing the Passenger Emergency Brake as an extra (as it is now used as an actual active gameplay feature), adding -the Pantograph Earthing Handle instead.
    • Adding a mention of the #Einziganders livery.
    • Adding steps on the start up checklists regarding the Auxiliary Compressor.
    • Conductor Simulation and how to use.
    • The new Fault Manager options (Throttle Controller behaviour in the Cab-Car, profile, cold start options).
    • In the controls of the 101: A new page showing the function of every Cut-Out Valve.
    • Improving the ZDE chapter with additional guidelines.
    • PZB/LZB and SIFA failures for the Cab-Car.
Biggest highlight of the manual update, I call it the Fault Finder:
    For the 101:
    • I have separated all of the faults into sections of 3 pages max. each.
    • I have added the categories where it is useful like if it's ASG related.
    Cab-Car:
    • The representation of the fault lights on the top of the cab now has hyperlinks to redirect to the appropriate section when clicked on.
For both: After going through all of the steps, if you have more faults to solve, you can simply click on the hyperlink to go back to the Fault-Finder, and repeat the process. I do hope this makes navigation a lot easier.

I'm not sure what you mean?
I didn't have the Earthing lever before so I added it, and since then the Passenger Emergency Brake has become a random event so I removed it from the extras as it is now a gameplay feature instead and wrote about it in its own subchapter in the Faults & Failures chapter.

For those who have read the new version of the manual, I would like to collect your feedback since we have now reached the final version of this manual. If you have some time to spare, please have a look at this form. I will try my best to keep it all in mind for future manuals!

Hey once again! The link is updated on Steam on the TSW 5 version of the DLC! Currently, only in English. If you check the first post I made in this thread, it is also updated.
For Russian speakers, kostya.voloshin.05 is also preparing a translation for you as we speak. German speakers, that will depend on Lukas/Foobian, but both are pretty busy so I do not know when that will happen, apologies for that.

Additionally, please consider filling the form either a couple of posts above or on my main post! That will really help, I only have 2 answers right now so more are definitely welcome.

I'd like to once again thank everyone for the support, it was a long journey, I had to learn a lot of lessons which hopefully will come in handy on the 145 Expert Manual as well. I do intend to continue to support Lukas' team of Train Sim Germany with manuals for the foreseeable future!

Thank you so much! If you mean the index, good mate and co-author Foobian was the one who engineered this one :)

William has identified a bug, recently, which prevents you to couple in free roam spawned locos. This should be patched with the arrival of the 145, though, if I understood correctly…

As far as I understand, the problem would be present in both cases, however, there is a workaround, which involves powering both locos down in a certain configuration. I would assume that you have probably done this by coincidence in one of your examples given. I’ll try to find the post form William and post it here…

Edit: found it, posted by William on discord:

Regardless of whether the 101s are coupled together or in sandwich mode you should use ZDS120 set in both locomotives. Make sure only one cab is active, and if you have a cab car inbetween you need to flip the SPS ZWS breaker in that cab (manual also states that you should shut off the battery though afaik that is technically not required but there may be other reasons to do that). Note that currently there is a bug (which I have fixed but wont be available until the 145 releases) that makes the 2nd loco not detected by the first **if the locos are coupled together after being spawned separately**, you can overcome this issue by setting both locos batteries to off --- after coupling everything together---, setting the ZxS switches to ZDS120, then turn on the batteries and activate the cab of the master loco.

Regarding your second question: there is an auxiliary compressor that runs on battery power which you can use to charge the auxiliary reservoir (25 L reservoir that is connected directly to the MCB and pantograph air valves). To start this you close the LSS Hilfsluftpresser in the machine room and then you can raise the pantograph once the pressure in that reservoir is above 4.8 bar (indicated by a small gauge on the brake panel inside the MR), note that you should raise the pantograph before it has reached 7 bar since otherwise the pressure may drop below 7 bar once you raise it and you wont be able to close the MCB (needs approximately 7 bar). if this happens you have to drain the aux res to below 4.8 bar and start the aux compressor again (it will only enable below 4.8 bar so there is a possibility to get soft locked as described above).

This is all described in more detail in the manual (I think), might be worth reading the chapters on the auxiliary reservoir/startup procedure “

Hopefully the answer you got from our great friend OpenMinded helps, because I think it's doable as long as you only have IC coaches in between preferably of course, and hopefully it works :) Thank you for your support!

so after some testing if using the formation editor it seems to work setting up sandwich mode with 2 101s and a cab car only doesn't work if spawned in separately
