Only if set pre ATO (i.e. 1962 stock) and when the line to Ongar was still open. But if you do a search you will see the Central Line has been suggested several times before, Also you need to put a bit more meat on the bones as per the guidelines at the top of this forum sub section, to actually sell the idea and why it would tick DTG's "LAMPOIL" criteria when looking for new route projects. On a practical level also worth pointing out DTG have stated doing Bakerloo went over budget due to the extensive UE light baking needed for the underground sections and since then they seem to avoid routes with many sub surface stations.
Still have a vivid memory of this. The only time I went to UK, a few months before closure. I loved the rural atmosphere of the area. One of my best railway memories (including the third rail, coming from Folkestone).
It doesn’t have to have the 1962 stock for a pre-ATO era - at least when it wasn’t fully completed. An idea is to set it in the late 90’s with the 92TS at a time when ATO was gradually being implemented on the network, this way some sections had ATP/ ATO installed, and the rest were still driven by conventional signals. That way there is a nice balance between having in/cab signalling and completing manual driving. I’d really like to see a 1992TS in TSW, not another tin can from the 60’s. My thoughts.
Okay, if I understand correctly, you have no idea about the Central Line, but it seems like a good idea. Your suggestion lacks much more detail, including: information, a route map, photos of trains that might use this route, the stations, the distance, and the history of the past. Could you possibly include that as well?
Or post to an existing decent suggestion thread, such as https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/london-undergrounds-central-line.88043/
As I've said many times, if we're getting an Underground line, I'd rather it wasn't a tube-stock line as the tunnels are single bore through the centre of town which stops you from seeing passing trains. The Central is probably the most interesting of the tube lines with two branches in the West and a loop in the East, a significant portion isn't underground, the scenery is varied and as OldVern said it would have to be pre-ATO, hopefully with a mixture of TS62 and TS92 rolling stock to make it more interesting. But I still think the issues with the Bakerloo Line means a proper tube line is unlikely. If we get another Underground line it will be the Metropolitan as it's essentially a mainline-type service with a choice of 4 destinations in the NW of London/Buckinghamshire, a short underground section, fast services and the mouth-watering prospect of a transition timetable with Cravens A Stock from 60s and S stock.
