Good morning guys. Today I would like to suggest the RER A Line of the Paris commuter system, the busiest in all of France in terms of commuter core. LINE MAP A little history of the line: HISTORY : After many years of study, construction began on July 6, 1961 with the inauguration of line A on December 14, 1969 of the Nation - Boissy-Saint-Léger section. This section starts from a new underground station under Place Nation and uses the old Vincennes line to Boissy-Saint-Léger. The section of this old line from Boissy-Saint-Léger to Verneuil-l'Étang has fallen into disrepair. A few weeks later a second underground section was opened between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and La Défense, extending east to a new underground station, Auber, on November 23, 1971. On October 1, 1972, it was extended from La Défense to the west using, from Nanterre, the old line from Paris to Saint-Germain-en-Laye from 1837, re-electrified by catenary at 1500 V DC. Finally, on December 9, 1977, the Auber-Nation section was opened, crossing the center of Paris underground, with the new Châtelet-Les Halles station where a large Metro-RER interchange was created, and Gare de Lyon, an underground complex under the station of the same name of great lines. Thus the two sections of line A were joined, completing the original layout. A few years later ramifications were added: - To the east to serve Marne-la-Vallée and the Disneyland Paris Park. In December 1980 the first section to Torcy (then Torcy-Marne-la-Vallée) was opened and in 1992 it was extended to Marne-la-Vallée serving the Disneyland Paris Park. An intermediate station was opened in this section in 1992, and it would not be until 2001 when the last new line A station, Val d'Europe, was opened. - To the west to serve Cergy and Poissy from the Nanterre-Préfecture station, the branches diverging to each of these communes to the west of Maisons-Laffitte. This branch was incorporated on May 29, 1988, one of the branches being extended to the new Cergy-Le Haut station in 1994. Line A is the suburban transport line with the highest density of rail traffic and the highest demand in the world excluding Japan. More than a million passengers are transported on weekdays. This influx has rapidly saturated the line, initially equipped with a BAL signaling system until the RATP delegated to SIEMENS the creation of a new signaling and driving aid system, SACEM, in operation in 1989. This has allowed the increase significantly the frequency at peak hours. The commissioning of the double-deck MI2N "Alteo" (Z20K) trains has made it possible to increase the capacity of the line. However, given the increase in demand, the construction of line E of the RER was justified, practically doubling line A. The hypothetical expansion project to the west would lighten line A and double the frequency of trains to Cergy and Poissy. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Length : 108KM Rolling stock: MI 2N MI 09 ( I'm sorry, I couldn't find another more complete image of the cabin ) MI 2N (bitensión 1500 V CC / 25 KV CA) MI 09 (bitensión 1500 V CC / 25 KV CA) DRIVING MODES various driving systems available; Manual driving is used on the entire line except in the downtown area, between the Nanterre-Préfecture and Val de fontenay / fontenay sous bois stations, where automatic driving is used The driving systems used are the following: N : Neutral CM : Manual driving CMC : Controlled manual driving PA : Autopilot VI : preset speed Well this is all. I hope you like the suggestion and that it receives a lot of support. See you on the roads!! Goodbye !!! (( Sorry if you can't see the images ))
RER A in 2015 would be a perfect period I think, because there were two additional trains in addition to those mentioned: - MS61 , the most iconic of the RER A for me : the first train on RER A (1969) and lasted until 2016, literally my pp - MI84 , it was on the RER A line between 1984 and 2017. Currently, it is still in service on the RER B line with the MI79 and is not expected to be replaced anytime soon, as long as the new MI20 isn't ready (it should be in service by 2029), the MI79/84 trains will remain in service until 2030 I think. Or maybe RER A between 2006-2010 to get the MS61 variants (B, C/D and E/Ex and renovated) but there will be no MI09 since this train arrived in 2011
Oo nice, Nice to see some other with A route idea on paris france What i like is a lot of details in text the description But a said nothing about your pictures Hmm i give a thumb up
You're here too, Nice. I see your on far more posts I appreciate your story with a thumbs up too And if i'm not mistaken You're france...
Yeah, I’m here too! Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your support. Always great to read your comments. And yes, I’m from France!
Nice, I'm a fan of PSG Paris Saint Germain And other nice fact about me is I cycle in a cycling team up the Mont Ventoux from June 6th to June 12th. That one week I'll be somewhere in France at a hotel camp, and that stage is for a good cause.
Salut les amis ! Une nouvelle proposition intéressante, on est pas mal à réclamer de la ligne française ici, apparemment ! (Seems we're a lot, here, interested in french stuff !) La ligne de la Bastille was abandonned in multiple stages, kind of "Beeching method à la française"... ... initialy called Métro Express Régional Défense - Étoile... that made an acronym : MERDE
