As we now have TSW6 which features demanding routes with highly detailed scenery, trains and busy timetables, I was just thinking of the original plan for NYT which allows for local freight services to be featured. I could not quite recall why it was scrapped close to release for TSW3 but eith the improvements that have occurred from TSW3 to TSW6, does anyone think there could be potential for the local freight that DTG originally had planned, actually become reality. Below is the link to the roadmap where local freight was in the process of being added to this route, going back to TSW3

In addition, I don’t think there was ever anyone on the US side of things equivalent to Liam who did the remaster of several of the UK routes (and very good too, with the best yet to come in GWE). They have just lost their US signalling expert (Brandon) which I fear puts the future of any new North American content in some jeopardy let alone redoing the old stuff.

Is there really much freight still on NEC in real life? I know what does run is usually overnight, but I thought most of the freight on NEC runs south of Philadelphia because the NJ section is too busy between Amtrak and NJT. I usually only see freight in NJ near the NEC come in from PA on the Raritan line and the cut across and use the old CNJ tracks to go out to Bayonne or up to Kearny via the (soon to be replaced) Point-No-Point bridge.

NYT is on top of my list for a Remaster. The freight for NYT is something I bring up almost on a weekly basis. Unfortunately with all the blurry issues affecting consoles is just something I don’t see happening imo :(

You are correct. the US doesn’t have anyone that would to take on that role. It’s very frustrating for the US and yea sometimes I get a little jealous of the UK. We can only hope someday we get that.

Well, we'll see how NYC Stamford turns out. I believe Brandon is involved in that venture. )

But beyond that, the future for US rail doesn't look very bright until DTG invests in some serious freight routes and locos, which is the real backbone of railroading over here.

Mainline Amtrak would also be welcome. I've suggested several Midwest routes, such as the Hiawatha, which could include freight and ( unbranded ) commuter.

I don't think DTG is listening. The new CM is welcome, but I'm not confident things will improve as far as content is concerned.

It's also tantalising with the section after the tunnels and Secaucus having had a refresh for Morristown.

It was one of the options for a remaster in the survey.

I voted for it, since if nothing else it could do with the Morristown Manhattan skyline.

My one concern would be it being insufficiently "juiced", shall we say.
