Route Morristown Line New York & Hoboken - Dover - Feedback

What makes it special is that it is should not be displayed in timetable mode. It's exactly the same engine with exactly the same timetable as a regular one.
Or do you think that of the 9 variants of the same Dresden-Leipzig BR363 each one is also special?

 

Ah, so it's a duplicate entry rather than appearing as a variant under the livery/unit amount selection for the base version. Alright, that makes sense. Though I am pretty sure I have seen versions of this happening on other routes too. Do DTG have a consistent guide for how to implement stuff in the timetable that this violates?

Yep, these eternal FULL of passangers "non revenue/empty stock to yard" trains confess that dtg lost the simple knowledge "how". 6 iterations and it is still A JOKE on discord and everywhere else...

 

They completely broke all passenger logic and my guess is that whoever's job that is has cycled through like two new hires in the last five years and whoever handles it now was thrown in at the deep end with ZERO on the job training or documentation. I have seen this at previous jobs.

 

Arrived in Hoboken when there was just one AI train. 69 FPS (place your joke here).
So please, DTG, stop optimizing Hoboken and start optimizing trains.

 

I noticed a couple detail inaccuracies with the Arrow IIIs based on my experience with them. First, the prototype is equipped with WABCO N-2 couplers on the cab ends of each married pair, whereas in-game they are depicted with AAR knuckle couplers.
Second, the real Arrows are (to my knowledge) not equipped for automated announcements, as they were built long before that was a standard feature on NJT's rolling stock. Every time I've taken a ride on a real train of Arrows, the conductors call out every stop over the PA system and not a text-to-speech program running on an onboard computer.
I understand if the second deviation from reality was made to make them align with the rest of the Morristown Line equipment having that feature, but I don't understand why the first deviation happened, especially given that they have the correct couplers in TS Classic. I haven't purchased TSW 6 yet; I only noticed these issues in official DTG media and others' gameplay videos. If these two inaccuracies are corrected, I'd be more inclined to buy the game.

 

the announcements were included as part as the core feature but as we previously mentioned we left the option for those who don't want the announcements the option to turn them off. As for the couplers I will get information on that

 

Unless something changed the Arow 3 has the correct type of coupler install. I think if you are looking at previous wip pictures it might show the incorrect coupler but that was fixed before the game released

 

How are you gonna base your knowledge off of outdated footage shot during the WIP phase and claim that is the current state of the train in-game? Mind blown

Does anyone know how to properly use the snow brakes? There is a switch on the Arrow for it but I’m not sure if it even simulates anything.

If fan railer is summoned anyway, please also answer is reverse used as a dynamic brake? Cause it works like a dynamic brake.

 

my understanding if you go into reverse it should activate the emergency brakes. but fan railer could correct me if i'm wrong. And this is for IRL not the what currently happens in game

 

I actually tried using the Reverse notches of the handle in the game and all it did was slow the train down, like you could hear the engine working, so it was kinda like dynamic brakes, but for some reason I think IRL it would blow sth in the train lol

 

As-is ingame behaviour is a perfectly cromulent dynamic brake, which is why all my driving of this unit has utilised it in such a way, going to be interesting relearning it if this ends up being patched.

 

1. The snow brake feature does not work on the Arrows in-game, unfortunately. I do not believe it was ever scripted to work.

2. If the controller is moved into the reverse notches while the train is in motion, it is my understanding that a train stop penalty brake is initiated. You therefore cannot "plug" the controller in order to use the dynamic brakes in this manner IRL. This detail was brought up during dev, but never scripted for.

 

so using it to brake the train is pretty much an in-game exploit (like on UK unit 350, when you get panto dropped fault, and you just raise it and continue driving, which shouldnt be possible unless you stop first lol)... I mean, I use normal Forward notches and automatic brake like a reasonably sane person, but I tried it in Training Center anyway, so I know it is possible in the game to drive/brake this way

 

Can't help but notice not a single bug thats been reported in here so far has made it on the latest patch notes!

Why do we bother?

 

They removed SIFA from Arrow. Also they almost fixed the coupling on 45DP.
But they broke the 45DP for AI and the signal mounts.
So... yeah

 

Lol im not sure if your agreeing with my statement or not here!! Such is TSW at the moment!! Yes we've had a few 'minor patchs' but they have broke more then we gained!

My original sentiment was 3 months down the line, I would have thought there was more bugs 'fixed'.. rather then the hyper focus we've seen on the B2C (a mess that DTG made themselves by not testing.. or if they did test.. not delaying the release due to obvious resons)

Given recent events with the USA team it wouldn't surprise me if that route has had work done.. but its stuck in the same DTG vacuum of 'finding a slot'.. that narrative would certainly fit the limited context we have in the situation imo!

 

Of course I agree. Over the past few months, they've fixed two of the bugs that annoyed players the most. But they've also added two new annoying bugs. With statistics like these we can't rely on them. Although... still curious what they'll break next.

 

To any member of DTG.. simple question..

When can we expect the next update to this route?
