It not adding services is only half the issue, I was one of those the bunch complaining about it. You know what one of my favorite loco's is though? The MP36, adds nothing new, but the engine's so different from the standard F40 that it makes up for that, the F59PHR is in the same boat. The Class 20 now does add railtours, but before JT was doing their thing that wasn't too different either. It technically adds some services to Tees, but only three, outside of that bulk of what you'll be doing is just hauling the normal coal services. But again, the 20's different enough to be worthwhile even with that in mind.

The real issue is both that plus the fact of that plus the 86 is so similar to the 87 that's the bigger problem. The only really thing you're getting is a slower, slightly (and I do mean slightly) different looking 87, which I just don't think really gives this pack wide appeal. Honestly I tend to not even care which is which, the power decrease doesn't really feel that noticeable, and you zone out the differences like the windows probably 10 minutes into a run.

I think it also needs to be said, there's more options than just "doing it/not doing it". The obvious one to me would be to hold off on the 86 and save it for a future route. Alternatively, maybe we should've gotten the 86 as a Expert engine, that would've done a lot to make it a must have even with the 87 already in the game.

Yeah, and that can either be filled by the closest thing, or left hidden, until the train comes out.

I haven't played with the PC Editor much so maybe this is an obvious "no", but when building a timetable is it not possible to use one loco / unit in place of another to populate the services, whilst using a specific naming convention for those particular services? That would then allow them to act as placeholders and enable easy replacement later on. Even if it's a manual job it would allow for easy identification of the services that need to be updated.

Hi DTG Liam sorry if already been asked and answered. Is there more or less or the same amount of freight jobs. If you own the relevant cargo packs. Thanks

For me the 86 is synonymous with the WCML in the 80s, so I completely disagree with everything you've said but I respect your opinion.

I concur, the 86s were much more common than the 87s (36 vs 100 86s) so it looked a bit odd having just the 87 before handling everything. Hopefully once Preston - Crewe is out, we'll see the freight turns also shared with the 86/4s. While there were 87s on freight duties they generally handled the fast passenger services on the WCML.

Excellent news, I really like the BR blue guise on the Western there, but prefer the way the horn is set up on the updated WSR example so looking forward to this!

The fact you have to specify "For me" implies there are people that wouldn't consider the 86 all that important for a 80's WCML, which actually supports my point further.
Half my post is just listing other loco add-ons and explaining details on them, if you're saying you disagree with everything than it just comes across like you didn't read my post.

Also just as a general response to the 86 being more common, doesn't really mean much. The Big Boy wasn't all that common a engine, but if you did a 50's Sherman Hill it would be silly to pick something like a common 2-8-0 over it. There's more to a engine being a good pick than just it being more common.

Any person with a keen interest/knowledge in the 1980's BR railscene would consider the class 86 important for an 1980's WCML, they were numerous and maids of all work. The Shap route is far more immersive with the class 86 than it was before.

You could argue all AC Electrics from the series 81 - 87 are all the same and similar, but for the more dedicated enthusiast among us, we know that's quite frankly not the case and a load of old rubbish!

The Class 86/87 are completely different locomotives in their own right. I just feel the people who make the comparison that the 86/87 are 'too similar' simply don't know what they are on about.

Hey Liam, here is a question, you worked on WSR and GWE remaster, how do they match up to each other in terms of the level of work required.

    Oh, that sounds great.

Probably being overly optimistic, but did you get a chance to look into any of these long standing issues with the 52, which all still exist to this day?

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/class-52-great-western-legends-issues.36935/

The MK2s all being 12345 happens everywhere, so not linked to the 52, but still annoying!

I also find that the wipers do not shift any water from the windscreen in the current model.

    cheers

As Liam has said several times now in this chat. It is now in testing so out of his control in terms of when it’s going to be released.

DTG Liam looking forward to this and although it's been a while im still hyped and can't wait to jump in once it releases. Your work is amazing and I'm so impressed with WSR it's like a different route and if that's anything to go by then this will be absolutely amazing. Don't listen to the haters you do a fantastic job especially considering it's spare time and free of charge. Keep up the great work with these remasters and im sure you already know what one you may do next but I'd love to see a remaster of TVL, NTP, ECW or BML as all are rather outdated now in terms of scenery etc

I know the TT is the original 2018 version, but I do hope to see a few services featuring the 802, as it’s a popular sight in 2025.
I see this train daily when going through Paddington to use the underground.
Chances are they might sell us a 2025 TT next year, hope they do as I do prefer the 802 over the HST. Do love the HST’s, but they’re painfully loud.

Liam has said the 802 runs a few test train services.

A 2025 Timetable is unlikely, given the current route in game is not fully electrified to Reading. Not unless they plan a ground up rebuilt and extended version for TSW7, but after all the effort Liam has put into remastering the existing route, I can't see that happening.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I guess there’s always scenario planner for that. I can fill my boots with as much 802 as I like :)

DTG Liam correct me if I'm wrong but we'll be getting guard mode with the HST?

And I was curious as to how it will work in game with the gaurd panel and doors opening, as in reality, because it's a slam door train the doors are still opened manually but the gaurd unlocks the CDL. Will it actually work like that in game or will they all just open when the button on the panel is pressed?

I noticed some of the new trains have an improved exhaust smoke effect, wonder is that a thing on the new GWE remaster?

Will the 387 be in the timetable drivable as far as Hayes and Harlington where the OHLEs end.

It would be better to temporarily reskin the Gatwick Express Class 387, which could later be replaced with the GWR Class 387 if it is produced. The problem is that, if they were to do such a DLC, the majority of our lovely community would probably riot. They would dislike losing services just because they have been moved to another DLC that they have to pay for.

I used to travel on the HST regularly during the late 70's,80's and early 90's what I remember most is the smell of burnt rubber as they came into the station and they were loud. You couldn't have a conversation when they were in the station for example but painfully so? No.

My memories from the hsts were when you was on a station platform and the thing got close I thought it always had a very distinct sound when it powered down, and when it pulled out of the station, what a beast! ,it was deafening if you were right close by ,not to mention if you saw an hst pass at high speed,it was the "formula one engine sound" of the train world

Honestly, I hope they just take their time and nail it.

This and the HST pack being bad will almost finish me off and JT dropping a clunker* on Crewe/Preston would be the final straw.

    *surely not, surely not?!

To be honest, I thought this would be the final 'season of reveals' big reveal. Maybe not, but would be the best Christmas present I'll receive. Of course I agree with other posters though that if it isn't ready (not been keeping up with things as much recently so haven't seen anything for/against this point), it's important they have all the time they need to perfect it. Looking forward to getting my hands on Liam's work - haven't really played TSW for a while now, and looking forward to getting back into it and experiencing the TSW6 features like announcements. Who knows, if this is good I may even get Riviera and the 220 to add more variety.

I also don't expect it before Christmas, I know Liam said it's in testing, but both Skyhook and JT said the 158 Fife timetable and the tfw 142, respectively, were finished months before they actually went through any testing. Assuming dtg testing actually exists. Also more time to play the route on tsw6 before it inevitably becomes a blur fest

I've been testing the 802 on the existing GWE in both diesel and electric to get it upto 125mph and it's really reopened my taste for the route even more!

Can't help but saying it but doesn't surprise me if the remaster doesn't come out this side of Christmas,it's in testing we hear and if that's true then there's not much time left to get it out ,and then you've got the Christmas period were it all closes down ,Sure it's a project Liam has been working on in his spare time and we keep hearing it's being perfected, but I think it's time it showed it's face or forever holds it's peace

Well from the Jingle Jam charity Matt said it probably won't be releasing until next year. And it sounds like they are considering releasing it on PC only.

Because they are worried its going to be a blurry texture mess for consoles.

Thank god it not a paid DLC or they would lose 2/3 of there sales that way, but since this is a free upgrade.....

At about 2hours and 3 minutes in is the second time he mention GWE. He said it is likely not coming out before Xmas.

Then said its in with the PC testers but not console and he said he is in fear of that because so much has been added. Just after talking extensively about the blurry texture issue.

Sounds like they may consier it a PC only piece of content. Unless your HST pack wil be related to it then they have no choice but to release it on 9th gen consoles

I can't find the 1st time when he said not likely this year for release.

    Cheers.

Just watched it and I have a strong feeling he was on about my timetable rather than the full remaster. Although there has been work done to help console performance on the timetable, so I would take what has been said with a pinch of salt rather than confirmation until both a date and release plans have been confirmed.

As for a pre-Christmas release he would know more than me on that
