Some decent prices, but buying the TSW6 version of a route/train doesn't seem to unlock entitlement for previous games as was the case up until TSW5.
Yes, good low prices indeed, bought 2 routes for 11 euro. TSW6 routes can't be played on old versions, that's sadly correct.
They're all TSW 6 "compatible" so there's no reason why they shouldn't back port into the version/s they were originally released on. It might just be the case that he has to 'manage game & addons' and manually select whichever routes were purchased....
No, when you buy a TSW6 version of a route, you can't play those on TSW5 or earlier. This was anounched by DTG and has something to do with the platform holders.
There’s a couple of these I want to play in TSW5 so I can chase the achievements; the lack of backwards compatibility means I won’t be buying, unfortunately. I’m not sure the lack of backwards compatibility is driven by platform holders, incidentally - my recollection is it’s DTG’s decision, same as the decision not to add achievements to TSW6 DLC. Shame - it’s costing them my business.
Wow. It appears you cant have an opinion without someone getting their knickers in a twist. Whether thats mods or other users. What has this forum become
DTG Matt - can we try and be a little more consumer friendly please? Entitlements were the best thing you'd done for TSW3-5. If you're not going to fulfil those entitlements with TSW6 compatible DLC, then please make a concerted effort to put TSW5 DLC on discount, especially legacy add-ons. There's DLC's that I would love to get but I refuse to buy them full price to get access to all previous and future iterations when they're actively on sale for TSW6 and don't provide any entitlements. It baffles me that the last sale actually discounted TSW5 add-ons, but some of these huge discounts are all for TSW6. I admired you guys when you made an effort to become more consumer friendly given the price of DLC's and annual releases. Sad to see that's gone out the window now. Please, just think about your consumers when it comes to sales.
No it has always been the case. Content sold for TSW 6 is not backwards compatible if you purchase content for TSW 5 etc and own TSW 6 then it is compatible it’s been that way for a long time
I think you’ve misunderstood the question which is about buying older content with TSW6 branding. In the past content made for previous versions which is branded with the newer number has always been backwards compatible. Of course DLC specifically made for TSW6 will not work on previous versions and this was always the case, but that was not what was being referred to.
With the way the game is at present I dont think even a good sale on xbox would make me want to buy anymore dlc.
One thing I have noticed is that the original product descriptions are still in place even though they're TSW6 exclusive. For example, Birmingham Cross City tells you that if you buy it on sale then "bustling duties await in TSW3", which isn't going to happen.
